POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Department Leader This position requires strong skills in facilitation of the CALM Early Care and Learning Framework curricula, including trainings, community of practice
initiatives and groups. Working closely with teachers, parents, and community organizations tocreate a supportive network for childrens social emotional well-being. Supporting the creation of engaging activities and resources that promote SEL. Frequent travel (out of FVCDC region),
working weekends and evenings is required to support various educational settings and community initiatives.


WHAT YOU NEED:

  • Masters Degree preferred in an area related to early childhood development
  • Strong understanding in social and emotional development
  • Understanding and experience with putting research into practice, knowledge translation
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in facilitating parent groups or other types of adult education
  • Experience in facilitation with large groups and understanding of adult learning styles
  • Capable of navigating a variety of communication and technology platforms
  • Preference for experience of working within school district professionals, early childhood educators, and parents
  • Ability to travel in remote areas of province and out of province
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in the field of pediatrics
  • Class V BC Drivers License

POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Clinical Services Manager, the FASD Service Facilitator will deliver child-, youth- and family-centred service to children and youth with FASD and/or suspected FASD and their families by leading the development of a strengths-based support plan for children and youth with FASD or suspected FASD. The FASD worker will work with the family, service providers and educators to build capacity for supporting the child/youth and identify strategies to meet the specific needs of the child/youth and family based on the best available evidence of FASD supports. The FASD workers will be knowledgeable about FASD and will complement the current efforts of service providers within their community to provide direct intervention support, collaboration and system navigation across multiple sectors, such as health, education, youth justice, community and social services, post-secondary, and employment and training. The FASD worker will connect children and youth with FASD, their families and service providers to interventions and supports including those developed through the other components of the FASD Strategy. JOB DUTIESWork with children/youth with FASD, or suspected FASD, and their families to develop a support plan based on individual strengths and needs, and informed by the child/youth and familys vision, goals and concerns.Support connections to diagnostic supports (as available), and provide information to families as post-diagnosis support.Support connections to other services and, with consent, share information and the service plan so the family doesnt have to repeat their story.Work with the family, service providers and educators supporting the child/youth to build capacity and identify strategies to meet the childs needs. POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Client Service Leader for Coordinated Service Planning, the Coordinated Service Planning Service Facilitator is a member of the Coordinated Service Planning team providing service coordination, support, consultation, education, and service navigation to children and youth with Complex Special Needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Successful completion of a Social Services Worker Diploma and/or a diploma or degree in a relevant social services discipline and a minimum 3 years work and/or equivalent experience with vulnerable or at-risk populations including special needs
  • Proven knowledge and understanding of service coordination and effective system-based interventions related to children, youth with Complex Special Needs and their families obtained by training and/or extensive experience in various capacities with this population
  • Excellent knowledge and experience working with the child and youth service system including ministry funding mechanisms
  • Commitment to strength-based principles of child, youth, and family-centeredness
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders and coordinate services in order to best meet the needs of the children, youth and their families.
  • Ability to maintain strong professional boundaries
  • Excellent planning, organizational, presentation, and reporting skills
  • Resourceful and independent with the ability to bring leadership within a team-oriented environment
  • Knowledge of child development

things you will do…

  • Track and monitor corporate, manufacturing and cross-functional projects and timelines where the President has direct involvement or interest.
  • Maintain a portfolio view of key projects, highlighting interdependencies, critical paths, and potential risk areas.
  • Ensure that for each project, a clear scope, budget, timeline, and stakeholder list is documented and updated using internal systems
  • Work with project leads to ensure all project phases are reflected in a Gantt chart or similar timeline tool.
  • Validate that budget parameters, milestones, and resource needs are identified upfront and monitored throughout.
  • Develop summary briefs and dashboards that can be shared with the President and SLT, consolidating all project information into actionable insights.
  • Serve as the communication bridge between project teams and the President, ensuring timely updates and issue escalation.
  • Coordinate and facilitate regular project update meetings, including setting agendas, capturing action items, and following up on commitments.
  • Represent the President in cross-functional meetings when needed, reporting back with clear summaries and decision/action points.
  • Ensure cross-functional alignment between Operations, CAPEX Projects, Finance, Compliance, and other impacted departments as needed based on the project scope.
  • Track potential gaps or delays in projects and alert the President and key stakeholders proactively.
  • Document and escalate unresolved issues that may affect project success.
  • Recommend improvements to project tracking, status reporting, and cross-departmental communication related to various projects.
  • Help foster a culture of visibility, accountability, and efficiency as you support with and facilitate key project execution

About the Role:

As a Program Facilitator at the YMCA, you support children ages 0-18, parents and caregivers in the Caregiver Education program. The Facilitator will be responsible for designing and implementing a variety of workshops to support child/youth/parent mental health, build resiliency, reduce stress, positive parenting, and other tools to support their development and parenting styles. The facilitator also supports the North Central Edmonton FRN (HUB) events and activities.

This position requires regular use of a vehicle and the incumbent must be able to work a flexible schedule (from Monday - Sunday) that includes working days, afternoons, evenings, and weekends shifts. Possible shifts are listed below, however, these can change depending on operational needs:
Monday- Thursday : 1:30 PM – 9:30 PM
Friday-Saturday : 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM

This position is full-time with 37.5 hours per week and includes benefits. This is a contact position and will end March 31, 2026

Responsibilities:

The Caregiver Educator Facilitator carries out their duties in a professional manner and in accordance with all YMCA policies and procedures, standards of conduct and practice, health and safety standards, child protection standards and contractual, legal, and regulatory requirements.

· Comply with funder mandates for participation and promotion requirements.

· Support participants and their natural supports within YMCA guidelines and adhere to the contracted performance outcomes.

· Refer participants for additional support by contacting relevant community agencies as required

· Engage with community agencies, and other organizations to maximize services and resources to participants

Program Administration

· Comply with all Risk Management and Occupational Health and Safety requirements including Work Alone Policy and Procedures and the Children, Youth and Vulnerable Adults Protection Policies and Procedures.

· Inputs data accurately and timely into program designated database systems

· Work within defined program budgets

· Maintain participant files in accordance with funder and YMCA guidelines

· Collect data, including outcomes, to inform and contribute to the development of funder and YMCA reports

Qualifications:

· University Degree in Human Services field or relevant equivalent

· 2 years of experience working directly with families with multiple risk factors

· Annual registration in a professional organization as required by law

· Standard First Aid and CPR-C, Police Intervention Check with Vulnerable Sector Search, and where required Child Intervention Check, and WHMIS Certification

· Non-Violent Crisis Intervention and Suicide Intervention Certification is a desirable asset

· Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle. Where required a clear driver’s abstract and proof of liability insurance is needed

· Experience working with diverse populations

· Experience within a team environment and working remotely

· Experience facilitating workshops and working with parenting curricula is an asset

· Working knowledge of issues related to the social determents of health, individual assessment, case management, group work, group facilitation, parenting skills, program promotion, program planning and outcome evaluation

· Working knowledge in supportive counselling skills, culturally sensitive practice and trauma-informed, strength-based approach within a family unit, Well-being, and Resiliency Framework

· Working knowledge of related community, housing, education, employment, justice, family, and human services resources

· Working knowledge computer skills (Windows, Microsoft Office, and Outlook

We are recruiting for an Early Learning Facilitator to support the Ontario Autism Program (OAP) Entry to School. This position may also support the EarlyON Child and Family Centre programs operated by Empower Simcoe as needed.

Using a child and family centred, collaborative approach to service delivery, this role prepares children with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) diagnosis to transition successfully to school. This position supports the child to experience success in a classroom environment by providing opportunities and teaching that build skills to optimize school success. Facilitators will contribute to the development of an Integrated Individual Education and Family Service Plan that is reflective of the families' visions and goals and is inclusive of all Early Intervention partners working with the child. This is a contract position ending on December 31, 2025.

Compensation Package:

  • Work up to 37.5 hours per week;
  • Minimum starting rate of pay is $28.73 per hour;
  • 11 paid statutory holidays;

Minimum requirements of these positions include :

We are recruiting for a number of Full-Time, Permanent Early Learning Facilitators to support the EarlyON Child and Family Centre Programs and at times, the Ontario Autism Program (OAP) Entry to School Program. Working as part of a team, this position is responsible for the daily operation of our EarlyON Child and Family Centres and/or Satellite Centres. This includes providing age-appropriate programming for children age 0 – 6 and parent education, including workshops, information and referral. This position also supports the Ontario Autism Entry to School Program operated by Empower Simcoe on an as needed basis.

Compensation Package:

  • Work up to 37.5 hours per week
  • Minimum starting rate of pay is $29.16 per hour

Following the successful completion of a 3-month probationary period
