The Mechanical Team Lead reports to the Industrial Construction Director. They coordinate and supervise all activities of the stakeholders and report on the progress of the activities.
What You Will Do
- Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations on the construction site.
- Implement the health and safety program established by the general contractor.
- Lead construction activities on-site with the support of site supervisors.
- Support the construction supervisor in coordinating contractors' work during weekly and shift-start meetings.
- Promote effective collaboration with the owner's team.
- Ensure sound management of labor relations and maintain good site productivity.
- Verify that all necessary permits and authorizations are in place before work execution.
- Enforce internal project procedures and systems, ensuring they are applied by supervisors, contract administrators, and other staff.
- Assist the supply chain manager and the construction contracts manager or other relevant personnel.
- Coordinate on-site engineering activities to ensure they meet project requirements.
- Monitor the quality assurance program and ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
- Prepare and issue required daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
In Collaboration With The Mechanical Subcontract Administrator
- Participate in the preparation of project cost reports according to standardized criteria (budgets, commitments, variances, performance, forecasts), following the approved coding structure.
- Update and account for all approved budget changes, project commitments (purchases and contracts), and modifications to those commitments.
This role could be for you if you have :
- Engineer or Technical Training in Mechanical Engineering (DEC) or Equivalent Experience.
- 10 to 15 years of experience in Mechanical Construction Management or in a similar role within a heavy industrial environment.
- Problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to addressing issues.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Experience in managing relationships with contractors.
- Familiarity with the context of mechanical equipment construction.
- Knowledge of major equipment installed in industrial construction projects.

We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technical Lead who will be responsible for overseeing, planning, and implementing maintenance and repair activities related to automotive testing equipment, facility equipment, and buildings. **Responsibilities**
+ Plan, coordinate, prioritize, assign, supervise, and review maintenance and repair activities to automotive testing equipment, facility equipment, and buildings.
+ Oversee and direct the activities of a small multi-trade maintenance crew to complete tasks safely and timely.
+ Comply with collective bargaining agreements, Canadian Electrical Code, TSSA, corporate policies, and other applicable regulations.
+ Develop maintenance strategies and programs, and improve existing policies.
+ Troubleshoot automated testing system issues and determine corrective actions.
+ Manage environmental health and safety conformance for skilled trades.
+ Oversee a preventative maintenance program for automotive testing equipment and facilities.
+ Prioritize tasks based on urgency and workforce availability.
+ Maintain accurate hourly timekeeping records, vacation, and time off requests.
+ Serve as the point of contact for janitorial services contract.
+ Perform environmental inspections and coordinate waste pickups.
+ Procure parts, materials, and rentals required to complete maintenance tasks.
+ Track data for performance measures such as Preventative Maintenance task completion and overtime.
+ Maintain good supplier/customer relations with internal customers and outside suppliers.
+ Monitor and maintain inventory levels of materials.
**Essential Skills**
+ Associate's degree
+ Certificate of Qualification as an electrician or an electrical engineering technologist (or equivalent)
+ 5-10 years of troubleshooting automated equipment, preferably in automotive assembly or automotive component testing.
+ 5-10 years of experience supervising maintenance activities in a construction or industrial environment.
+ Experience in a unionized labour environment, 5-10 years would be beneficial.
+ Knowledge of Ontario Building Code, Electrical Safety Code, OH&SA Regulations related to industrial maintenance activities.
+ Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn and operate other computer-based and web-based programs.
+ Strong project management, organizational, teamwork, written and verbal communication skills.
+ Valid driver's license.
