**Overview**
Panasonic Canada Inc. is currently looking to hire for the position of **Technical Project Manager.**
Plans, executes, and delivers complex software projects within ISD. Manages all aspects of the software project lifecycle, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget. Works closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, engineers, customer experience operations managers, IT, product and business stakeholders, to ensure seamless coordination and alignment with the company's technical software products and business goals.
This is a full-time position.
This position is hybrid. Any office-based work will be performed from our Mississauga office at Ambler Drive with occasional travel to Niagara on the Lake office.
**Responsibilities**
+ Leads the end-to-end management of software projects, including defining project scope, objectives, timelines, and deliverables. Develops detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, resource allocation, and budgeting. Creates and maintain Gantt charts as per the project schedule and timelines. Keeps Gantt chart continuously updated based on progress. Ensures that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
+ Coordinates and communicates with development, product teams and other stakeholders to ensure project alignment and successful delivery. Facilitates communication between technical teams, stakeholders, senior management, and customers to align on project goals and expectations. Organizes and leads project meetings, including kick-offs, status updates, and retrospectives. Maintains effective communication with suppliers and key project personnel to ensure timely delivery of materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and personnel. Manages integrations with third parties. Manages and coordinates projects that are shared between multiple development teams including external vendors, contractors.
+ Monitors and tracks project progress, providing regular status reports to stakeholders, senior management, and customers. Maintains comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, risk logs, and change requests. Ensures that project deliverables meet quality standards and technical requirements.
+ Identifies internal and external dependencies, certification requirements, licensing, potential project risks, develops mitigation strategies, and incorporates adjustments into project plan and schedule. Proactively manages changes in project scope, schedule, and resources. Resolves project issues promptly and escalate when necessary to ensure project success.
+ Follows Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid models as per project needs. Implements and promotes Agile practices and methodologies within project teams. Facilitates Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives. Continuously seeks opportunities for process improvement and optimization within the project lifecycle.
**Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Engineering and Business Administration.
+ 15+ years of total experience. Minimum 10 years' experience as a technical project manager for software products.
+ Experience modernizing software products to next gen.
+ Experience working on Point-of-Sale systems is required.
+ Project Management Professional (PMP) and Scrum Master Certification (CSM).
+ Excellent Project planning and management, decision making and problem-solving experience.
+ Experience managing Windows, Web, and Mobile app projects. Experience with cloud technologies.
+ Experience using software project management tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, SharePoint, etc.
+ Experience creating and maintaining Gantt charts.
+ Strong technical background, with a solid understanding of software development processes, architecture, and technologies.
+ Experience and expertise managing integration with third parties.
+ Excellent problem-solving and project planning/management skills.
+ Must be a team player, approachable, helpful and open-minded to resolve conflicts.
+ Exhibit leadership skills and effectively collaborate with peers and sub-ordinates.

About the Role

  • Coordinating our multi-disciplinary team of engineers, developers, and designers to drive our product launch. This is a technical role, but the most important skills are interpersonal - to help your teammates do great work and be their best selves.
  • Creating a big picture vision and collaborating with great people to turn it into a reality. You will understand the needs of our customers better than they do and will define, gather, and write our requirements for features and long-term projects that our team will execute on.
  • Accelerating new feature development by building and maintaining detailed project plans, coordinating schedules, allocating staff time, and updating schedules. The clear documentation, architecture overviews, and product roadmaps will facilitate efficient and scalable collaboration across the company and with 3rd party vendors/partners.
  • Anticipating potential project challenges early and proactively devising risk mitigation strategies to support adaptable and smooth project execution in the face of dynamic and uncertain scenarios.
  • Regularly preparing and presenting reports on the progress of initiatives to key stakeholders, including executive leadership
  • Building and sustaining relationships with essential or strategic partners and suppliers, recognizing both their immediate importance and long-term value to the company's goals

What you’ll bring to the team:

  • 5+ years’ technical engineering or technical product development experience
  • 2+ years’ experience leading teams to ship products or software to market in a quick and iterative manner as a Project Manager or similar role
  • Demonstrated project planning experience, including coordinating schedules, allocating staff time, and creating product or development roadmaps that account for complex task interdependencies
  • Ability to work on and prioritize multiple simultaneous initiatives, understanding how they are connected and making tradeoffs when necessary
  • Customer-centric mindset, with an ability to stay clear-minded when adapting and being flexible for a quickly-evolving market
  • Hands-on experience with basic prototyping, fabrication, manufacturing, or testing/QA

About the Role

Wavelo is transforming connectivity by building modern, flexible, and API-driven software solutions for Communication Service Providers (CSPs), ISPs, and TelCos. As part of our Delivery Operations team, you'll be helping to scale our platform and services for both new and existing clients.

We are seeking a seasoned Technical Project Manager to lead the execution of complex, high-impact projects across our internal teams and external customers. You will be at the forefront of onboarding new clients, managing technical implementations, and ensuring seamless coordination across engineering, product, and business teams. This role is critical to our mission of delivering scalable, agile software solutions.

This is a remote opportunity for those in Canada.

Responsibilities
  • Lead cross-functional teams in the execution of strategic and technical projects, including client onboarding, integrations, migrations, and platform deployments.
  • Manage end-to-end project lifecycles across multiple Statements of Work (SOWs), ensuring quality, scope, timeline, and budget adherence.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate intuitively with engineering, product, and business teams to ensure alignment and transparency.
  • Drive Agile practices, including sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups, ensuring iterative delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Identify, manage, and communicate project risks and dependencies.
  • Track and report on project progress, KPIs, and resource utilization using project management tools and dashboards.
Qualifications
  • 6+ years of project or program management experience, preferably in the SaaS, IT, CSP, TelCo, or ISP industries.
  • Strong technical background and ability to communicate effectively with engineering and product teams.
  • Proven experience leading external client-facing projects and managing stakeholders at all levels.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, agile, and remote-first environment.
Nice to Have
  • Experience working with API-driven platforms or BSS/OSS solutions.
  • Familiarity with tools like JIRA, Confluence, and modern project tracking/reporting tools.
  • Understanding of Agile frameworks (e.g., SAFe, ).

The base salary range for this position is $87,750 to $7,500. Range shown in CAD for Canadian residents. Other countries will differ. The Opportunity


The Technical Project Manager's responsibility is to ensure that the operations are completed safely, on time, and in accordance with all company work-related documentation such as SOPs, job descriptions, and HSE regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all day-to-day operations of the car deck and other technical scopes of work
  • Have thorough understanding of the project scope and the vessel (MV Isabell)
  • Provide input and actively participate in continuous improvement plans
  • Provide support in project plans considering the time frame, budget, staffing requirements, regulations, resource availability, and customer contractual requirements.
  • Acts as liaison between crew, subcontractors, vendors, and internal company personnel.
  • Manages the development of aspects of the project execution strategy including planning, vessel refit, and vendor and subcontractor support requirements.
  • Ensures compliance with overall Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental standards for the project.
  • Support technical disciplines (mechanical, electrical, software, systems, etc.)
  • Assist with support and passenger vessels associated with the companies scope of work.
  • Communicate job expectations and provide coaching and training
  • Works in partnership with the project discipline leads to ensure technical solutions stay within budget and on schedule as per the contract.
  • Responsible for identifying required project resources and for defining the responsibilities of the technical roles.
  • Tailors project phases, defines work breakdown structure, and work packages for the technical team.
  • Responsible for creating the project schedule by incorporating the project plan, contract specifications labor estimates, and task dependencies.
  • Manages and controls the project schedule by coordinating engineering activities, resolving problems, reviewing the design, adjusting to changes, and recommending actions.
  • Responsible for risk management for the technical elements of the project.
  • Monitors compliance with applicable codes, policies, performance standards, regulations and specifications, and project security requirements.
  • Provides periodic project status to internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience working on a passenger vessel with thorough understanding of the vessel functions and systems

This role is a key customer-facing position within the development team that includes:


Business Analysis:

  • Facilitate requirement gathering sessions using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, and task and workflow analysis /process mapping.
  • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, and decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding.
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver project artifacts such as functional requirements (business requirements document), use cases, screen and interface designs, data flow diagrams, workflow diagrams, training documents, etc.
  • Collaborate with developers to establish the technical vision and analyze trade-offs between usability, performance, and scope.
  • Be the liaison between the business units/customers, technology teams, and support teams through which requirements flow.
  • Lead the verification and management of requirements throughout the project.
  • Assist with defining and continuously improving BA processes and interactions with other IT areas.
  • Make recommendations to improve the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the business.


Project Management:

  • Direct and manage all project phases from inception to completion to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Assemble and coordinate project team members, assign individual responsibilities and follow-ups.
  • Monitor and control all project activities, issues, change requests, risks, and overall quality of deliverables.
  • Plan and oversee the preparation and dissemination of all project communications, including updates to the master project portfolio and calendar.
  • Communicate with project sponsors, senior management and functional area managers, and/or consultants regarding the status of specific projects through formal and informal verbal and written communication methods.
  • Manage multiple initiatives/projects simultaneously.


What you'll bring to the table.

  • Three (3) or more years of project management experience, preferably in an IT Infrastructure or IT Security field.
  • Possession of a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an asset.
  • Ability to manage ten or more projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated Project Management (PM) competencies: budget and timeline management, scope management, risk management, timely decision making, effective team building, ability to prioritize and delegate appropriately and deal with changing priorities.
  • Strong technology understanding coupled with industry skills and a track record of understanding IT Security Technology (Networking, Firewalls, IDS/IPS, Content Filtering, Strong Authentication, PCI-DSS Compliance, Penetration Testing) is an asset.
