Technical Sales Specialist
Employment Type: Full-Time | Permanent
Location: Barrie, Ontario
Position Overview:
Seeking a motivated and technically savvy sales professional to support the Technical Services division. The position combines technical knowledge, customer-facing sales, and onsite service support.
Key Responsibilities:
Quotations & Sales Support:
- Prepare detailed, cost-effective quotations for industrial products and maintenance services
- Collaborate with leadership to develop competitive proposals
- Follow up on quotes and actively close sales opportunities
Business Development:
- Generate leads using historical customer data and proactive outreach
- Develop new business and long-term client relationships
- Manage and grow an existing book of business
Technical & On-Site Support:
- Understand customer specifications and provide technical solutions
- Maintain deep knowledge of products and services
- Visit customer sites as needed to support sales or service execution (approx. 50% travel – Canada & US)
Administration & CRM:
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and project details in CRM
- Coordinate service reconciliations and prepare documentation for invoicing
- Provide occasional administrative support for the sales team
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with the Director of Services to improve processes
- Build strong internal and external relationships with clients, peers, and stakeholders
Qualifications:
- College diploma or university degree in a technical discipline
- 5+ years in technical sales, customer support, or related field
- Experience in industrial manufacturing, mining, or related technical sectors
- Strong understanding of sales strategies and client management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM, and ERP platforms
- Familiarity with industrial filtration or air pollution control systems is a strong asset
- Valid driver’s license and passport (50% North American travel required)
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Preferred: background in engineering, environmental science, or similar field
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary: $65,000 – $75,000
- Commission/Bonuses based on revenue performance
- Extended health and dental after 3 months

POSITION OVERVIEW :
We are seeking a dynamic and driven Technical Sales Specialist to support Albarrie’s Director of Services in our Environmental Services division. This is a unique opportunity for a motivated individual to learn from an industry expert and grow into a leadership role. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, demanding environment and demonstrate exceptional technical, organizational, and sales skills. You will handle all aspects of customer quotations, project estimations, and sales processes, while also assisting with technical service needs on-site when required. This role requires agility, intelligence, resilience, and the capacity to navigate and excel within a complex and often challenging work environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Quotations and Estimations:
- Prepare accurate and detailed quotations for industrial air filtration products and maintenance services.
- Collaborate with the Director of Services to create cost-effective and competitive proposals.
- Sales and Business Development:
- Follow up on quotations and close sales through proactive engagement with clients.
- Prospect and generate leads through historical customer data, past purchases, and targeted outreach.
- Explore and develop new business opportunities, fostering long-term relationships with customers.
- Technical Expertise:
- Understand customer specifications and technical requirements to answer questions and provide solutions.
- Gain in-depth knowledge of Albarrie’s products, services, and technical fibers.
- Visit customer sites to support technical sales efforts or assist with project execution when needed.
- Administrative Support:
- Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, quotations, and project details in the CRM system.
- Coordinate service reconciliation upon project completion, ensuring all documentation is prepared for invoicing.
- Step in to support sales administration tasks as required.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with the Director of Services to streamline workflows and improve processes.
- Maintain a positive and professional relationship with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Completion of a College Diploma or degree in a technical field of study.
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in technical sales, customer support, or related roles.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, CRM platforms, and ERP systems.
- Familiarity with industrial filtration systems, air pollution control, or related technical products is an asset.
- Ability to travel within North America, with a valid license and passport.
- Strong understanding of sales techniques and business development strategies.
- Preferred: Background in engineering, environmental science, or related technical fields is an asset.

Working knowledge of industrial automation is preferred. * You have product and application knowledge of Rockwell Automation Controllers, HMI’s and software. * You are able to accurately interpret single-line electrical drawings * You have an understanding of industrial networking and Ethernet I/P. * **Valid driver’s license and passport will be required for this position.
