ROLE SUMMARY
As the Technical Shop Supervisor within our Rental Department, you will be pivotal in ensuring our warehouse operations' smooth and efficient functioning. - Actively develop and implement strategies to enhance warehouse processes. Utilize your technical and video equipment knowledge to innovate and refine equipment handling and maintenance procedures.
- Conduct thorough inspections and processing of incoming and outgoing equipment to align with project timelines. Maintain an up-to-date, real-time inventory that accurately reflects our rental assets, ensuring meticulous documentation and equipment readiness.
- Manage the logistics of equipment delivery and returns to optimize overall workflow. This includes scheduling and overseeing equipment transport to and from clients and vendors, ensuring timely execution and compliance with safety standards.
- Uphold all warehouse activities to the highest health and safety standards. Regularly review and improve safety protocols, ensuring a safe working environment for all staff.
- Lead by example and guide team members, fostering an environment that encourages knowledge sharing, efficiency, and innovation.
TO BE AN ALL-STAR
- Demonstrated experience in equipment rental or audio-visual fields, with a strong grasp of related technology and software, including asset management systems.
- Possession of a valid drivers license and forklift certification, coupled with the physical capability to manage loads up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, adapt to changing priorities and meet deadlines under pressure.

- Ensure effective and efficient resolution of any customer quality concerns/issues
- Develop, maintain and enhance the relationship with customer quality organization/contacts. And drive customer satisfaction in terms of quality.
- Conduct defined internal audits (e.g., LPA, Control Plan audit) to ensure adherence to customer quality requirements.
- Lead, coordinate and follow up defined customer visit events
- Manage defined customer requirements (CSR) and drive adherence with internal responsible cross-function teams.
- Track, monitor, maintain and report customer quality performance internally (e.g. Monthly Quality report) and externally (e.g. through customer portal).
- Drive Customer quality process improvement and standardization.
- Support other customer activities as needed.
- Act as customer quality representative in the organization to ensure customer is protected from quality concerns.
- Attend Meetings with senior management to report and discuss customer quality issues.
- Review Quality Alerts, MQS, MAFACT and Local QMS Procedures for approval.
- Provide direction and guidelines to the team on customer interaction strategies, including reviewing all formal 8D reports to the customer.
- Provide training and performance reviews for the direct reports to optimize the performance. Address performance gaps as needed.
- Enforce company policy and local procedure within the department.
- Conduct both long term resource planning based on business requirement and the day-to-day administrative tasks related to team functions.
- Establish new on-site support reps as needed and manage the overall reps performance and cost.
- Support production on day-to day activities and ensure supplier concerns are communicated to initiate corrective actions and provide clean point.
- Foster a continuous improvement culture in the organization while driving the team towards zero defect ppm.
Key Qualifications/Requirements
- Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Degree
Experience
- Minimum 3-5 years of supervisory experience in the automotive quality field, and a minimum of 3- 5 years of experience in a Quality Leadership role being a strong asset
- Engineering experience in manufacturing technology and production processes.
- The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the IATF16949 standard and certification.
- Ability to communicate with external customers and suppliers, occasionally in times of high visibility/increased pressure.
- Ability to lead a team and drive continuous improvement.
- Ability to travel occasionally.

**Facility Maintenance & Compliance:**
Oversee maintenance, housekeeping, and labor compliance across automated hub
Ensure adherence to UPS Hazardous Materials Procedures and international/national regulations for transporting regulated goods (e.g., hazardous materials, tobacco, alcohol)
Conduct audits, facilitate Corrective Action Plans (CAPs), and deliver employee training on compliance requirements
Ensure regularly scheduled maintenance is completed timely and effectively, and ensure all deficiencies are corrected
Oversee invoicing and manage costs for planned and emergency maintenance
**Environmental & Safety Compliance:**
Monitor district-level environmental and safety compliance for the automated hub
Review facility regulations, perform audits, and analyze trends to address compliance issues
**Conveyor Reliability:**
Manage mechanic dispatch for scheduled maintenance as well as emergency repairs
Maintain an accurate record of the facilities inventory through CMMS
Provide hands-on and remote support for conveyor or equipment-related breakdowns and issues that arise during operations.
Generate reports outlining overall system effectiveness and reliability
**Technical Support:**
Provide guidance to Plant Engineering Information Systems (PEIS) personnel and users.
Maintain and update documentation for UPS building standards and specifications.
**Construction Project Management:**
Manage low to moderately complex construction projects, such as conveyor installations and facility modifications.
Ensure projects adhere to contract documentation, timelines, and cost control measures.
Provide drafting and web support services for construction documentation.
**Qualifications:**
Must possess a Bacheloru2019s degree in Engineering.
Knowledge of facility maintenance and conveyor systems.

Here are some of the things youll be working on:
- Provide guidance and supervision to our globally established engineering team members, including mentoring less experienced engineers and technologists at any of our office locations.
- Conduct performance reviews and evaluations, recommend training and growth opportunities, and identify additional resource needs.
- Ensure the team adheres to existing verification and checking standards.
- Collaborate effectively with customers, suppliers, and contractors on technical matters as required, involving regular travel to customer and supplier sites internationally.
- Apply broad material handling knowledge across engineering design, field installation, and project management.
- Continue to develop expertise related to EMS-Tech Inc. equipment, systems and methods of analysis and design. For example, but not limited to: FEM Section II, AS4324, CEMA or DIN 22101 conveyor design, hydraulic design, bearing selection, motor power calculations, etc.
- Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and DEM analysis tools
- Establish conceptual designs and complete analysis and calculation details to satisfy project needs and specifications.
- Demonstrate excellent technical report writing skills and maintain EMS-Tech Inc.'s confidentiality and intellectual property standards.
- Participate in the establishment of task scope, design concept, specification, schedules and budgeted hours.
- Demonstrate analytical skills using mechanical modelling software and analysis techniques.
- Must be able to use manual methods to verify mechanical modelling and analysis techniques, as well as coach less experienced engineers in these basics.
- Demonstrate advanced level understanding of drawing presentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Engineering or Applied Science
- Licensed P.Eng. designation in Ontario (or recognized equivalent).
- 1220 years of industry-specific experience.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills, coupled with excellent communication abilities.
- Proficiency in technical report writing and interaction with suppliers, customers, and design teams.
