Summary:

Associate Customer Service Technician/Field serves as primary customer contact on technical and service-related problems on a wide range of industrial, robotic and printing equipment. Diagnoses electronic, mechanical, software and system failures, using established procedures provided by our highly rated service training department. This job may include any aspect of field support, including electrical/electronics, hardware, software, PC’s, and networking. Provides technical support to customers on operational or maintenance aspects of system equipment. Determines most cost-effective repair/resolution to minimize customer downtime.

Note: This is temporary employment for one year with possible extension to full time permanent employment.

NOTE: THIS IS NOT AN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (IT) POSITION – requires electrical and mechanical experience

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Primary responsibility will be to install, troubleshoot and repair a variety of industrial products that include, but are not limited to; printing and packaging equipment, cash recycling products, inserting and sorting machines, credit card attaching and processing systems, robotics and any other applicable third-party accessories attached as part of the system.
  • Schedule and perform regular predictive/preventive maintenance inspections on equipment.
  • Provide support by managing parts inventory, customer service calls and preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Foster positive customer relations and a high degree of customer satisfaction by communicating effectively with customers.
  • Act as a liaison between the customer and other departments/functions of the company.
  • May need to provide an "on call" level of service up to seven (7) day/week twenty-four (24) hour/day for emergency customer assistance; respond to emergency and non-scheduled calls for service within established response time goals.

Travel:

  • This position requires minimal travel in the United States and Canada for training and other requirements. For field only, local travel time could be greater than 50%.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to use standard and specialized hand, power and diagnostic tools and measuring equipment, such as oscilloscopes, DMM, gauges, etc.
  • Requires lifting to waist fifty (50) pounds.

The HVAC Field Service Technician will be based out of Montreal, Qc area and is responsible for serving our customers either on site, by phone, or via remote internet connection. Responsibilities:

Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, repairing and maintaining large industrial textile processing equipment, as well as facility maintenance.   • Multi-Property Coverage: Travel between properties to handle special maintenance requests or fill in during extended absences, working closely with property managers who manage routine maintenance tasks. Responding to after-hours urgent maintenance emergencies at the property as required.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, including but not limited to wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary. Report any safety concerns or hazards to the appropriate supervisor or management.
  • Maintenance Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities, including work orders, repairs completed, materials used, and any additional relevant information. Keep track of inventory and report any shortages or required restocking.
  • Communication and Meeting: Participate in weekly meetings with the Regional Operations Managers to coordinate property-wide initiatives and provide guidance to concierges as needed. Document findings, assign follow-up tasks, and ensure timelines are met for all projects and initiatives.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience, preferably with residential properties.
  • High school diploma or equivalent. Technical training or skilled trade certifications are an asset.
  • Hands-on experience in plumbing, electrical repairs, HVAC, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
  • Experience with painting, drywall repairs, and surface preparation as part of property maintenance projects.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to manage multiple maintenance projects.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Effective organizational and communication skills.
  • Physical fitness and ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting heavy objects and working in various weather conditions.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
  • Fluent in English and French.

We are currently seeking a Service Technician to join our team, working out of our Saint-Laurentoffice.


Reporting to the Service Supervisor, our Service Technicians provide exceptional technical and customer service, ensuring maximum performance on all ATMs. Service Technicians diagnose and repair ATMs, communicating and resolving any technical issues with customers. This individual will be responsible to service customers in and around the greater Montreal area.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Stage new and used ATM terminals and ensure functionality and cleanliness, programming with correct parameters and testing communications.
  • Install and uninstall ATM terminals on-site.
  • Provide basic training to new customers on site on ATM loading and troubleshooting procedures, demonstrating machine functionality.
  • Guide customers over the phone to resolve issues, troubleshooting a series of procedures in order to resolve issues.
  • Conduct in-person service maintenance when issues cannot be resolved remotely, diagnosing, repairing and testing terminal for full functionality.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on ATMs on site.
  • Provide support to internal departments and external customers, as required by helping with technical information support, explaining how to fix issues.
  • Provide weekday on-call support in the evenings and weekend on-call supportto customers, as necessary on a rotating schedule with other Service Technicians within the team.

  • At least 1 year of experience with online service call software, an asset.
  • Valid Quebec drivers license, with clean driving record.
  • Bilingual in English and French, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to pass a criminal and credit background check.
  • Understands the nature of shift and on-call working hour requirements.

As a Life Sciences Equipment Service Technicianat STERIS, you will act as a trusted advisor to our Customers in the maintenance and procurement of Life Sciences products, both medical devices and consumables. You will drive an exceptional Customer experience by providing on-site preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, equipment modification, and installation support on complex mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electronic units in a high stress healthcare environment.

This is a remote based Customer facing position. To support and service our Customers in this assigned territory candidates must be based out of one of the following provinces: Quebec, Montreal (Longueuil preferred)

What you will do as an Equipment Service Technician

Drive Customer satisfaction through pro-active communication and commitment to resolving Customer's issues and problems expediently.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance required on STERIS and related product lines in a safe and efficient manner.
Troubleshoot, repair, modify, overhaul, or refurbish standard and special purpose equipment and systems components.
Ensure a positive Customer experience by providing timely preventative maintenance performance, service calls, warranty calls, field upgrade programs, etc. Perform minor installations as required.
Maintain a working relationship with the Area Service Manager to advise of activity and changes related to sales opportunities in assigned territory.
Increase company growth through identifying sales opportunities and recommending STERIS products/services to Customers. Communicate leads to management and sales staff. Be a positive ambassador for STERIS at Customer sites.
Respond to routine Customer and sales questions regarding equipment operation and performance. At the Area Service Manager's discretion, provide on-site support to the sales organization, limited to identifying opportunities, sizing, and utility requirements.

The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed

Required:
Secondary School Diploma, Graduation Certificate, or CAEC with 1 year of relevant experience
Ability to work flexible hours, sometimes outside "normal business hours"
Must live within 50 miles of center of territory
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times and push wheeled transporters up to about 50 pounds
* Must be bilingual (English and French)

Preferred:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in electronics, mechanical or similar discipline with 1 year of relevant experience
General knowledge of GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) and GLPs (Good Laboratory Practices)

Other:
Excellent interpersonal and Customer communication skills
Strong technical and troubleshooting skills
