The IT Systems Manager leads the planning, implementation, and support of all IT infrastructure and operations to ensure secure, reliable, and high-performing technology systems. This hands-on role oversees networks, cybersecurity, hardware/software management, and end-user support, with a focus on minimizing downtime and optimizing performance. The manager collaborates internal and external stakeholders to align IT solutions with operational workflows. Strong technical expertise, leadership, and communication skills are essential to guide a high-performing IT team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and maintain IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and cloud services
  • Manage cybersecurity protocols, system backups, and disaster recovery plans
  • Lead end-user support and IT helpdesk operations
  • Monitor system performance and proactively resolve issues to reduce downtime
  • Manage software and hardware assets, licensing, and procurement
  • Collaborate with project teams and external partners to align technology with business needs
  • Supervise IT staff and contractors, ensuring effective training and development
  • Other duties as related to the role

Requirements

  • Degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
  • Demonstrated experience in IT systems administration or infrastructure management
  • Strong knowledge of networking, servers, firewalls, and cybersecurity best practices
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, Windows Server, Active Directory, and cloud environments
  • Proven leadership experience managing IT teams or projects
  • Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in the construction or engineering industry (preferred but not required)

  • Effectively carry out Plan Group’s project management procedures from initial award of job to conclusion (Project schedule, change orders, as-built drawings, close out documents, etc.)

  • Interface with consulting engineers to review and provide recommendations regarding implementation of the design and reports
  • Adhere to and carry out all safety requirements by client, as well as follow all of Plan Groups safety guidelines.
  • Contribute to technical proposals and coordinate with team members to effectively develop RFQ/RFP submissions and/or related tender documents on the pursuit of large transportation projects.
  • Track project performance and report status and escalate as required.

Our ideal candidate has:

  • You have a minimum of five (5) years of related Project Management experience within the construction industry and familiarity with a variety of construction field concepts, practices and procedures
  • Exposure to information technology, structured cabling and building systems would be considered an asset
  • You have related post-secondary education; university degree in engineering preferred
  • Knowledge of Accubid software and/or Estimating experience is considered an asset
  • Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office. Experience utilizing scheduling software preferred (i.e. Microsoft Project and/or Primavera)
  • You hold or are working towards a Project Management Professional (PMP) designation or equivalent considered an asset

The Technology Transformation Project Manager is responsible for leading and executing technology-driven transformation initiatives across the organization. This role requires strategic planning, stakeholder management, and ensuring the successful delivery of projects that align with business goals. The candidate will oversee the full project lifecycle, driving innovation, efficiency, and digital enablement.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Project Management & Execution

  • Act as and model the behaviors of an exemplary project manager in leading project management activities.
  • Lead the development and implementation of enterprise-wide technology solutions, particularly in ERP, document management, and analytical systems within complex organizational structures.
  • Manage end-to-end software development life cycles, from gathering business requirements and defining product roadmaps to execution and post-project support.
  • Review and manage the preparation of feasibility studies, concept designs, preliminary and detailed design and design reports.
  • Manage, monitor and report project milestones status through detailed plans and schedules, ensuring the project is on budget, on schedule, and within the defined scope and quality.
  • Work with the Design team to provide expert technical input on guidelines/standards development and implementation.
  • Identify risks, dependencies, and mitigation strategies to ensure project success.

Stakeholder & Change Management

  • Builds customer-focused relationships, work with Business Analysts, aligns team’s with goals, raises issues, schedules, and facilitates meetings.
  • Act as a liaison between technical teams and senior leadership, ensuring that technology solutions align with strategic business needs.
  • Develop and execute change management strategies, including stakeholder engagement, training programs, and communication plans to drive system adoption.

Technology & Innovation Leadership

  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement projects like enterprise resource planning (ERP), document management, analytics systems etc to optimize decision-making and operational efficiency.
  • Manage data integration, business intelligence, automation, and financial reporting initiatives to enhance organizational capabilities.

Performance & Continuous Improvement

  • Establish project KPIs, track performance metrics, and report progress to enterprise leadership.
  • Optimize project management methodologies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and streamline business processes.
  • Conduct post-implementation reviews to assess system impact and identify opportunities for enhancements and scalability.

Change Management:

  • Experience with managing and implementing organizational changes related to projects.
  • Ability to guide teams through change and uncertainty.

This role requires a strategic mindset, stakeholder excellence and technical expertise to successfully manage and deliver projects that contribute to organizational success.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Release Management. Manages the release schedule, plans and executes deployments, collaborates with stakeholders, ensures completion of the development scope, and maintains risk mitigation plans.
  • Processes and procedures. Develops, executes, and continuously improves product lifecycle management processes and procedures.
  • Upload signed project budget to the benefit cost ratio.
  • Develop detailed project plans and track progress against schedules.
