Duties
- Perform on-site installations and repairs of equipment according to company standards.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks to ensure optimal performance of equipment.

Valid Drivers LIcense with reasonably clear abstract.
Must possess a valid provincial 'gas fitters licence'
In Ontario, must have the Certificate of Qualification of Gas Technician (G-2) and or be willing to get certified as part of the job offer. Extra compensation will be provided once license is obtained.

Qualifications and Competencies:
- Journey person, Technologist, or Engineering certification required
- PdMA testing experience preferred

What You’ll Do – The Role (Responsibilities)

- Upon checking with CSS’s, set up trailers with appropriate Load Bank(s), cable lengths and size. Fill oil/coolant buckets and prepare parts for upcoming jobs. This is performed the afternoon before or early AM prior to scheduled work.
- Always present a professional image, and clearly understand any directions given by a technician, never putting yours or the technician’s safety at risk.
- Complete and submit all documentation accurately, completely, and legibly during or immediately following the work assigned.
- Scheduled appointments are to be promptly kept. Should circumstances beyond your control arise, contact the customer and/or Dispatcher/Scheduler prior to the appointment as a courtesy to our customer and other trades people.
- Complete calls and account for your work daily utilizing field service software.
- Maintain fleet of rental generators ensuring preparedness for dispatch at a moment’s notice.
- Help Generator Rentals division as needed with Generator delivery and running of cables
- Perform selected field-based services on your own, from time to time. The scope of this work will vary with your knowledge and experience.
- Upon return of any trailers, check trailers, cables, and Load Bank(s) for any damage. Initiate repairs and report any deficiencies in writing to your manager.
- Assist Technicians loading and unloading, to get in and out of the shop on a timely basis.
- The waste oil and coolant areas are to be kept clean and organized. Assist in emptying the old oil, glycol and ensuring old filters are placed into their respective containers. If the old oil/glycol tanks are full, contact disposal company for emptying.
- You will be using a company vehicle that must be operated in keeping with the Company Policy on “Use of Company Vehicles”. This vehicle is your responsibility when in your care.
- Ensure that the shop truck is well maintained. Call the person responsible for Fleet Management to inform them of any defective operation or service that is required. Any repairs outside of regular maintenance must be pre-approved.
- Treat all equipment and tools with care, signing them out accordingly with the Shipper/Receiver or Service Manager. You must inform the appropriate person if any equipment is damaged or missing.
- All parts are to be signed out and authorized by a parts representative.
- Adhere to all health and safety rules and recommendations. Never make compromises in a situation that is potentially unsafe for yourself or others.
- Always wear company subsidized “green patch” work boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, face shields/ masks and recommend to supervisor any other job-related safety/ protective equipment required.
- The job is not completed until the old oil, glycol and batteries are dumped/placed in their respective containers for proper disposal.
- Participate in other assigned in-house work duties which may include, for example, additional warehouse cleanup, assisting with inventory etc.
- Other tasks and responsibilities may be required from time to time consistent with the position of Generator Service Assistant and the job description and duties set out above.

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a Field Service Technician to perform in-field warranty and service repairs and adjustment on window and door products. Provide technical feedback on product performance and deficiencies. Communicate with dealers on the status of specific services issues, also serves as a liaison between Insulate and the end-user. - Basic knowledge of PLC programming, ladder logic, and variable frequency drives is an advantage.

Sales and Service Promotion
- Actively promote the sale of replacement parts, recommended spare parts, and preventative maintenance services to customers.
Identify and Address Equipment Issues
- Develop the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues and perform repairs where possible, or escalate issues to the appropriate team member for swift resolution.
Assist in Manufacturing Problem Solving
- Contribute to identifying and resolving challenges in the production process.
Field Service and Maintenance
- Perform onsite tasks such as preventative maintenance, assembly, and repairs. Collaborate with contractors for large-scale installations, retrofits, and services related to industrial ventilation systems.
Service Reporting
- Provide detailed reports after each service, including descriptions of tasks completed, parts used, time spent, travel distance, customer interactions, and purchase order details to ensure prompt invoicing.
Emergency Service Support
- Assist customers with urgent service requests when equipment is down, including providing estimates, coordinating parts delivery, and ensuring quick resolution.
Customer Complaint Coordination Help manage customer complaints by working with the appropriate department to resolve issues fairly and quickly.
Airflow Measurements and System Balancing
- Learn to measure airflow and make adjustments to ensure the system is working according to design specifications. Training will be provided to develop these skills.
