**Your Experience and Qualifications**
+ Education: Bachelor's degree in Agricultural, Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering. Candidates with other educational backgrounds but relevant experience will be considered.
+ Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C/C++, or MATLAB/Simulink for test script development.
+ Familiarity with embedded systems, microcontrollers, and communication protocols (e.g., CAN, Ethernet, ROS).
+ Knowledge of hardware testing tools (e.g., oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers).
+ Experience with sensors, actuators, hydraulics, and low-voltage electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities:
- Work with the product design team to document and implement requirements
- Develop and maintain test plans for standard products developed by the company's Engineering Department.
- Develop and maintain testing methodologies and practices which will enable the effective, efficient evaluation of new and updated hardware and software designs.
- Test and evaluate hardware and software for new and upgraded products and systems as a part of the Engineering Department's testing and quality assurance process.
- Prepare test reports on assigned projects, and work with Department designers to help resolve technical issues uncovered as a result of testing.
- Act as the Department authority on code requirements and test methods related to ULC and UL listed products.
- Provide guidance and support to ensure that the Engineering Lab has the tools, equipment, and materials it needs to support ongoing and developing testing requirements.
- Establish and support the high technical standards which are expected of the industry leader.
- Lead in the identification, definition, and implementation of new processes, policies, practices, standards, and tools to enhance the Engineering Department’s effectiveness, capabilities, and capacities.
- Report any deficiencies in systems, facilities, machinery, equipment and/or tools immediately to Senior Management.
- Record and/or report product damage/nonconformities to Senior Management as required.
- Comply with Quality Assurance policies and procedures.
- Participate and contribute to effective production efficiency.
Requirements and Skills:
- Good working knowledge of current testing methodologies and practices in a modern manufacturing / lab environment.
- Several years experience in hardware and software testing, utilizing a wide variety of current technology and test equipment in a real-time, process control environment.
- Excellent knowledge of the various codes and standards that govern the fire alarm industry.
- Good working knowledge of safety procedures and precautions related to working with electrical equipment.
- Excellent written and spoken English, ability to create clear, precise, and comprehensive test reports.
- The Test Engineer must be able to work independently with minimal supervision, and yet be able to function well in a team environment. The incumbent is expected to demonstrate skills in helping to define product requirements and identify and eliminate technical challenges or problems that might interfere with the successful approval (listing), launch, and utilization of the company's products and systems.

THE POSITION
The Embedded Systems Test Engineer is a methodical, detail oriented, and creative professional that will be responsible for creating and executing design verification, validation, and manufacturing test plans for in-house developed products. - Perform statistical analysis of failures across production runs and product variants.
- Interface with other Engineering staff to discuss required test-related features for new products in development.
- Integrate into the development team to assist with test-driven development and product development.
- Interface with other Engineering staff on test fixture design schematics and PCB layouts.
- Participate in initial and ongoing design and technical reviews.
- Participate in customer quotation exercises to estimate engineering effort, schedule, and produce project budgets.
- Collaborate with the Engineering team on product design and production efforts to ensure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget.
- Participate in vendor qualification activities.
- Perform other Engineering activities as directed and required.
WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE YOU REQUIRE

Role Summary
The software QA engineer will be an important member of our infotainment testing/verification team in Canada, which is part of the larger Global Engineering team working with our industry leading client. The QA engineer will be responsible for defining, implementing, executing, and maintaining test plans and test cases to ensure the software is delivered with high quality. The engineer will work closely with software developers/engineers, requirement developers/engineers and program managers through the entire product lifecycle. The QA engineer reviews requirement specifications and design documents, to better understand the features and specifications for the efficient design of test cases to address the full spectrum of the requirements and quality. The automation test Engineer should improve engineering productivity. In order to achieve this goal, automation test engineer are responsible for designing and implementing highly efficient automation test infrastructure, as well as tools and test scripts to test the specific products and solutions automatically.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in requirement reviews in order to write test procedures and test cases
- Define test strategies based on software development plans
- Define and maintain test plans based on software development schedule
- Setup, integrate and develop highly efficient and reliable test infrastructure
- Design and develop tools and scripts for product and solution automation test
- Investigate and evaluate new techniques and tools for continuous improvement
- Ensure test plans align with the development schedule and project milestones
- Prepare test reports on test results and problems and provide initial issue analysis
- Analyze reported issues to generate quality reports, and contribute to defect prevention
- Support development teams to verify and/or reproduce reported issues
- Participate in the continuous improvement of test processes and methodologies
- Setup and configure necessary hardware and operating environments for specialized and daily test cases
- Maintain of test equipment and the test library environment
- Participate in development of test tools and test scripts
- Interact with software developers and other QA engineers to ensure the deliverables fully address the needs
Requirements
Required Skills and Experiences:
- Minimum three years of experience in software quality assurance
- Minimum two years of experience in testing Android code
- Minimum two years of experience in mobile or automotive industry
- Understanding and experience of different automation framework
- Experience in automation tools like Jenkins, Selenium, Appium and others is a plus
- Experience with Android automation test tools such as UiAutomator, Monkey&MonkeyRunner or Robotium
- Development or scripting skills in common language such as JAVA, Python, Perl, C++ or shell
- Ability to anticipate problems and issues, and then recommend solutions to the problems
- Experience in mobile application automation is highly preferred
- Solid knowledge of software quality assurance methodologies and tools
- Knowledge of testing embedded product software
- Test driven development experience is a plus
- Good experience with different Operating Systems, especially Linux variants
- Working knowledge of Scrum/Agile software development process
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- QA analyst / engineer needs to possess technical writing skills, effective communication skills, problem-solving and analytical skills, organizational skills, and interpersonal skills.
- QA analyst / engineer must be self-motivated, a quick-learner and reliably deliver on time in a fast-paced work environment
Education and Training:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
Preferred Education and Certification:
- Higher degrees is preferred
- Professional Engineering designation is a plus

**Your Challenge:**
+ Work closely with engineering to design, develop and test new test applications for manufacturing test.
+ Work closely with engineering to ensure test equipment is available and working properly to support the projects.
+ Provide sustaining test support to the manufacturing at test.
+ Support and enhance existing test applications.
+ Apply established development processes and assist in process improvement.
+ Generate complete and accurate documentation to support the test application.
+ Provide input to architecture, design and test coverage reviews (DFT).
+ Provide input and evaluation of new technologies and products.
+ Keep current with test trends and share knowledge.
+ Provide task breakdowns and accurate estimates for project planning.
+ Create manufacturing test requirements and verify they are met.
+ Support the New Product Introduction process by interfacing with both local and off-site design teams to validate and implement manufacturing test suites into the production facility.
+ Provide mentoring to junior staff.
**What You Bring:**
+ Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science with 5 years of experience.
+ Technologist diploma with 8 years of experience in electronic/electro-mechanical environment.
+ Experience with C programming, Python Scripts, JTAG, and Test Executives.
+ Experience accessing, configuring and controlling hardware from Linux and firmware.
+ "U-boot, Slim Bootloader, and UEFI" an asset.
+ Development experience with Labview/LabWindows/CVI and TestStand.
+ Able to read and understand schematics.
+ Excellent communication/interpersonal skills.
+ Strong sense of responsibility, commitment to quality and achieving deadlines.
