Responsibilities

• Experienced QA Engineer
  • Collaborate with product teams to lead testing efforts from start to finish for new and existing features.
  • Quickly understand the existing platform and augment the testing framework to support current and future functionalities.
  • Design and implement robust automated testing frameworks using tools like JUnit, TestNG, and Playwright, ensuring high throughput, performance, and KPI compliance.
  • Deliver automated, reliable, and comprehensive test coverage for all features.
  • Monitor, maintain, and support the delivered features by proactively identifying and resolving issues.
  • Work with support teams to lead incident investigations and drive remediation efforts.
  • Propose innovative testing solutions to enhance the platform's stability and scalability.
  • Participate in code and design reviews, providing critical feedback on testability and potential issues.
  • Bonus points for experience in accounting software or banking applications.
  • Familiarity with frontend or full-stack development is a plus.
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling for running and maintaining E2E tests.
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Preferred Experience and Knowledge

• 35 years of experience as a QA engineer with a strong focus on automation.
• Proficient in testing backend frameworks such as Springboot (Java / Kotlin based) and RestAssured as well as frontend technologies like JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and Playwright-based testing systems.
• Strong experience with BDD frameworks for writing and managing test cases.
• Nice to have experience in transitioning from manual to automated testing.
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling to run and maintain E2E tests.
• Ability to design, implement, and maintain automation test suites for UAT and regression testing.
• Familiarity with testing APIs and integrating external systems into the testing framework.
• Strong understanding of modern testing methodologies and tools.
• Nice to have experience working with ERPs (e.g. Netsuite or Quickbooks Online)
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaboration tools.

Compensation Package

Description:
As a QA Engineer, you will be responsible to assess software quality through manual and automation testing. You will be responsible for creating and sharing the best QA practices within LotusFlare. In this role, you will ensure all processes are well documented. A big part of this role is identifying where it is possible to automate tests and moving to automation in that area. We are looking for a QA engineer in Toronto with expertise and passion for the quality of products. Ultimately, you will ensure that our products, applications, and systems work correctly and gate-keep before shipping the products. • Review and analyze system specifications
• Work directly with appropriate stakeholders and development to understand project objectives and approaches of software development projects
• Develop effective strategies and test plans in collaboration with product managers and engineers
• Create and execute test cases throughout the development cycle 
• Create reports to document testing phases and defects
• Report bugs and errors to development teams
• Help troubleshoot issues and identify root causes
• Conduct post-release/post-implementation testing
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle
• Work collaboratively with the development team during all stages of projects to provide in-process testing results
• Develop and execute automation tests

Requirements:

• 3 years of experience automation testing 
• Experience in creating automation framework is a plus
• Previous TelCo experience preferred
• Automation testing experience with Appium and Selenium is a plus
• Experience with project management and QA tools (e.g. Jira)
• Experience in performance testing is a plus
• Experience with API testing tools such as SOAPUI, Postman (experience with automation of APIs testing is a plus)
• Full understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) principles.
• Solid understanding of QA processes, best practices, testing techniques, and methodologies
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken
