WHO YOU ARE:

You are a proven leader in the Guest Service or Retail industry, you are the ultimate guide and leader when it comes to facilitating an exceptional Guest experience. Working with the broader management team will come natural to you and overseeing the day to day theatre operations is where you can let your management and directional skills stand out. You know what it takes to be a budget owner, set targets and achieve results, along with experience using a scheduling software. Finding solutions and presenting recommendations to find efficiencies is something that you are comfortable with, and you have an eye for continuous improvements. and YOU love movies!


THE JOB:

  • Collaborate with the Management team to effectively manage operations of the theatre. Including, but not limited to; cast scheduling, non-concession and local theatre marketing execution, new hire payroll processing, labour management & deployment strategy, and marketing programs
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the theatre with a focus on labour management, reviewing KPI metrics, inventory management, and marketing programs
  • Communicate on an ongoing basis with the Management team, including the General Manager and Operational leaders, by attending all schedule meetings and by use of the communication tools provided
  • Greet and engage Guests and make them feel special - helping to create exceptional experiences
  • Be available and visible to Cast and Guests; observe and assist with potential issues
  • Provide consistent performance feedback to all levels of Cast and address performance issues in a timely manner using effective performance management tools
  • Work Safely and ensure all levels of Cast are made aware of, and follow, safe work practices
  • Ownership & accountability of budgets, targets, and results

REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a related industry (Guest service/retail environment)
  • Completion of a post-secondary school program with a focus on business acumen, marketing, hospitality, entertainment, and food service management is considered to be an asset
  • Experience with Time & Attendance/Payroll software is considered to be an asset (ex. Ceridian Dayforce HCM)
  • Proven track record in managing and overseeing operations in a retail/service-centric environment
  • Ability to manage and execute on marketing programs with a passion for delivering quality products and services in a Guest-service environment with significant attention to-detail
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented work environment, and are engaged in finding solutions and efficiencies

THE JOB:

  • Accountable for our Alcohol Beverage program execution at theatre-level including; ensuring adherence to all regulations related to alcohol service, alcohol training execution at theatre-level, alcohol inventory management, and alcohol service that ensures Guest satisfaction while adhering to all Landmark Cinemas policies in this area
  • Visual merchandising of our self-serve Marketplace concept that features an expanded assortment of food, drink, and merchandise with a focus on revenue generation
  • Communicate on an ongoing basis with Management teams, including the General Manager and Operational Leaders, by attending all scheduled meetings and by use of the communication tools provided
  • Communication and collaboration with the Regional In-Theatre Sales Team on a regular basis
  • Greet and engage with Movie Lovers and make them feel special - helping to create exceptional experiences and follow-up with any In-Theatre Sales related to Guest Service Recovery

Great Big Theatre Company is looking for Theatre Coaches for its summer Theatre Arts Day Camps programs for 2024. There are approximately 40 positions available for a two-month term during July and August, at 14 locations in the GTA and southwest Ontario.

This is a salaried position ideal for those who enjoy working with children and young people and are qualified to do so, and who also have some theatrical experience. Completion of, or enrolment in, a university-level drama program is an asset, but not a requirement.

A valid Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) is a requirement. If interested in applying, please contact your local Regional Police Services well in advance to arrange for this, since there is often a delay in obtaining this document.

CPR / First-aid accreditation is also an asset, as is having your own transportation.

The counsellors’ / theatre coaches’ role is to supervise all activities, ensure the care and safety of children attending, and so far as possible ensure that the camp is a positive experience for all. Age of the attendees is 6 to 14. Staff will be in charge of drama-oriented instruction and games and will help children prepare for an end-of-week performance. Hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday, with extended hours a possibility. Pay is $ 18.20 / hr, or more depending on qualifications and experience.

Some supervisory positions are also available. These will be at a higher rate of pay; they will require extensive travel between locations. Those hired for supervisory positions will need to have their own vehicles.

Camps locations include: Burlington, Hamilton / Dundas, Etobicoke, Guelph, London, Mississauga, North York, Oakville, Oshawa, Richmond Hill, Toronto / Beach, Waterloo and Whitby.
