WHAT'S THE JOB?

We are hiring a Tim Hortons - Food Service Associate located at the University of PEI, With no Drive-through, we operate Monday-Friday; no evenings or weekends! Primary duties and personalities include:

  • Answer questions about food, beverages, wine and other catering functions and services when necessary
  • Assist with food running, ensuring that plates arrive to the proper assigned events.
  • Monitor the cleanliness of section and ensure all materials and areas are clean and free from clutter
  • Communicate with Servers and Hosts to maximize seating
  • Practice a high level of floor awareness and clear/clean as required
  • Ensure that condiments are pre-portioned and the fridges are stocked with milk, cream, butter etc.
  • Monitor food quality and presentation standards
  • Follow all food safety standards and systems
  • Empty garbage, change linen bags and dispose of garbage and recycling
  • Communicate to all Servers any comments or information provided by guests to ensure a positive, memorable experience
  • Other duties as assigned or required
Qualifications

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • No experience is necessary, although previous food service experience is preferred. We will train you.
  • You need to be able to communicate clearly and effectively in English.
  • Basic computer skills are needed for POS system and payroll system.
  • You possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • You have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • You can maintain a positive and friendly demeanor toward the residents and your co-workers.

The Food Service Worker 2 responsible to the Operations Manager-Bars and will assist in all areas for maximum service to patrons.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Assist with all aspects of food preparation, display food in an attractive and appetizing manner, and clean in the kitchen area.
  • Provide excellent customer service to student, staff and public clients, in a professional and friendly manner at all times.
  • Follow proper food handling and storage techniques as per Capital Health standards.
  • To perform other related duties as directed by the Operations Manager-Bars.


QUALIFICATIONS


  • Thorough knowledge of food handling and storage techniques.
  • Previous experience with food inventories preferred.
  • Excellent work habits, personal hygiene and professional appearance.
  • Good public and staff relations.
  • Must be willing to obtain ProServe and Alberta Health Services Food Safety certification.
