Overall Responsibility:
The Tooling Engineer is responsible for the design, development, Tooling and equipment used in the steel blanking process. This role ensures that all tooling meets production, quality, and safety standards while optimizing efficiency and cost. The Tooling Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and maintenance, to improve tooling and equipment performance and troubleshoot issues.
Accountabilities:
- Design, develop, and implement tooling solutions to support steel blanking operations.
- Oversee the manufacturing, testing, and validation of new and existing tooling.
- Assist with setting up tooling for production, Die, Blanking press data entry.
- Ensuring Blanking Press equipment, levelers, feeders, stacking machine run at rate.
- Troubleshoot tooling issues to minimize downtime and improve operational efficiency.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for tooling-related defects.
- Work closely with suppliers to source tooling components and ensure quality standards.
- Monitor tooling wear and plan preventative maintenance strategies to extend tool life.
- Optimize tooling designs for cost reduction and improved production performance.
- Ensure tooling meets industry standards and company safety, quality, and environmental requirements.
- Writes and maintains technical specifications for the procurement of equipment, accurate documentation, including tooling specifications, drawings, and maintenance records.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying and implementing best practices.
- Writes technical specifications for the procurement of equipment and tooling.
- Lead the design, construction, acceptance testing and installation for equipment and tooling.
- Participate in the manufacturing of the prototype parts and communicate lessons learned.
- Program launch support for all new Dies/Part set up for production.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, Tool and Die Maker or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in tooling design, development, and maintenance in a steel blanking or metal stamping environment.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) for tooling design.
- Strong knowledge of metal forming, die design, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and blueprint reading.
- Understanding of material properties, heat treatment, and wear-resistant coatings.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- PLC programming/troubleshooting experience is an asset.

Key Responsibilities
Analyze technical data (drawings, data, sketches, etc.) and provide feedback on manufacturability of products.
Create mold specifications and support tool shop selection and mold build discussions.

Requirements

Strong interpersonal skills and experience communicating with cross-functional teams.
Valid driver’s license.

Mold design/mold maker apprenticeship considered an asset.

Mission of the Position:
The Expert, Business Process Optimization position will work with key stakeholders to conduct in-depth analysis of existing business processes and identify opportunities for improvement and optimization. The position will recommend, support and/or lead the design, development, and implementation of strategies to streamline processes and improve efficiency and will use data and metrics to measure the effectiveness of process improvements. This role may act as a work stream lead on key strategic projects and in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct operational and statistical studies to identify current states and potential areas for process simplification, standardization, and optimization.
- Lead in planning and execution for business process optimization projects. These may include but are not limited to domains such as Quoting, EHS management, Expense management, Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE), front office digitalization, Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, logistics planning, Objectives and Key Results (OKRs), Engineering Change management, procure to pay process, and other similar projects.
- Interview key stakeholders and develop detailed end-to-end process maps, identifying roles and resources required.
- Utilize data to recommend and implement optimization strategies for business processes, enhancing productivity and reducing inefficiencies.

Requirements
What you'll need to succeed:
- Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in strategy roles, including time in a top-tier consulting firm and/or leadership within investment management, financial services, or technology operations.
- Experience in process management, business analysis, operations, or continuous improvement roles.
- Proven experience in designing, implementing, and optimizing complex business processes.
- Experience with process mapping and modeling tools.
- Experience in agile development or product lifecycle.
- Certifications (Preferred): Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification, PMP, and BPM.
- Ability to analyze complex data, identify root causes, and develop practical solutions.
- Strong ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Experience with Looker, Powerbi, or Tableau.SQL and AI competency is an asset
