Since our inception, over 100 years ago, we’ve remained agile, and offer a client-centric focus, that most larger firms simply cannot provide.   We want to do great things; we need your help   As our new Senior Road & Highway Engineer (Design Lead), your main objective is to establish and grow our roads & highway design practice within our Toronto office. Under your leadership, we will reinforce and expand our presence in the Greater Toronto Area, establish a strategic market position, and align with client needs. You’ll serve as a project manager and technical expert, as you oversee a small, growing team to deliver critical projects.   We are currently engaged in exciting, transformative projects in the GTA with major clients including Metrolinx and the TTC. Your work will contribute directly to the success of these, and other projects.     When you’re not engaged in design work, technical review and evaluation, and project management, you’ll serve as a main point of contact for our clients. A large part of your role will be to serve as a representative of our company, build our business, and win new projects. Your big-picture understanding of our business, and ability to build strong client relationships based on trust and mutual benefit will be critical.   You’re a natural leader, entrepreneurial and tenacious by nature. You have a drive to build and develop teams, and relish the opportunity to deliver guidance and expertise to junior team members. As a people-oriented person, with a keen ability to communicate and engage a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, you’re well equipped for success in this role.   You will: * Perform engineering design tasks for roadway and highway projects from preliminary to final design. * Perform geometric design and 3D modeling, develop alignment plans, profiles, cross-sections, super-elevation and grading design and construction staging. * Develop specifications, cost estimates, and prepare permit documents and construction bid packages. * Establish working relationships and contact with client technical staff and project managers. * Provide engineering design services for traditional design-bid-build projects and design-build road and highway projects. * Mentor and assist junior engineers in developing their skills and project deliverables * Coordinate design activities and meetings between design staff, subconsultants, and client managers. * Participate in project decisions regarding technical approaches, cost and scheduling performance. * Identify schedule and cost variances and develop and implement recommendations for corrective action. * Participate in projects by completing tasks within schedule and budget with teams comprised of different disciplines.   Working with Gannett Fleming   With 40 offices across North America, and a team comprised of 2500 employees globally, Gannett Fleming has a far-reaching impact in the industry. During peak activity, there will be some overtime required, and meeting with clients will not strictly happen 9-5.   We have many international offices, and while you won’t be required to travel, there will be opportunities to collaborate with our other teams, including with our new office in Vancouver.   Qualifications   * Degree in Civil Engineering (post-graduate degree is an asset) * Registered Professional Engineer (P. Egis, a global leader in the delivery of complex infrastructure projects, is currently seeking a Transportation Planning Analyst to join our team in one of our Ontario offices (Toronto or Ottawa) or in Montreal, Quebec. The successful candidate will join our leading-edge transportation planning and mobility team, working on multimodal transportation projects and collaborating with world-renowned transit and rail experts.

Egis has supported over 350 rail infrastructure projects and delivered more than 12,000 km of high-speed rail across three continents, ranking 8th worldwide for mass transit and rail. Our urban transit projects include metro, tramways, and light rail systems, with a focus on sustainability and operational efficiency. Notable achievements include the first driverless metro in Lyon and major projects like the Doha and Grand Paris metros.

Key Responsibilities:

• Participate in the preparation of service proposals.
• Research and analyze mobility data to identify trends and issues.
• Operate specialized software in transportation modeling or traffic engineering.
• Conduct GIS analysis using tools such as ArcGIS or QGIS.
• Support the execution of mobility studies, including multimodal transportation planning, traffic engineering, and rail and urban transport.

• University degree in engineering, urban planning, economics, geography, operations research, or a related field.
• Possess excellent analytical and synthesis skills.
• Demonstrate a strong sense of organization.
• Exhibit open-mindedness and flexibility.
• Show proficiency in developing solutions.
• Have experience in data analysis and processing, as well as knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of topics and software related to transportation planning or modelling is an asset.
• Knowledge of GIS is an asset.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English is required. Strong knowledge of French is also expected for candidates based in the Montreal office.
