Job Responsibilities:
QUALIFICATIONS
- Completed second year of Industrial Electrician Apprenticeship
- Good English (both written and verbal) communication skills
- Good familiarity with electrical components
- Good knowledge of hand and power tools
DESIRABLE ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
(Optional) - Preferred but not required
- Automotive manufacturing experience
MAIN TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works under the direction of the Shift Supervisor and the Electrician Journeyman on shift
- Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment such as robots, dies, conveyors programmable controllers, relay logic, etc.
- Diagnoses apparatus such as transformers, motors and light fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wiring and fixture
- Test malfunctioning machinery and discusses malfunction with management options available to correct problem
- Replaces faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, switches and motors and positions sensing devices
- Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards
- Plans layout of wiring and installs wiring, conduit and electrical apparatus in buildings
- Involved in the diagnoses and replacement of faulty mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic components of machines and equipment
- Complete PM's as required and specified by the shift supervisor
- Maintain 5s standards in the plant and Maintenance Shop
- Monitors Plant lighting, replace ballasts and bulbs as required.
- Performs all job functions abiding by the office/work standards, policies and procedures as outlines in the company handbook.
- Performs all job functions in alignment with IATF 16949 quality management standards and ISO 14001
- Actively participates in continuous improvement
- Maintain 5S standards in working environment
- Attend training based on Mytox's internal training matrix
- Performs all job functions in a safe, healthful and environmentally conscious manner, abiding by all health, safety and environment rules and regulations as outlined in the company handbook
- Performs other duties as assigned or any reasonable request by management.

**The Position**

**Responsibilities**
* Assist the Journeymen / Foremen Electricians with various tasks including but not limited to installing conduit and boxes for slabs, install electrical boxes and pot lights, Rough wiring in units / corridors, install lights, troubleshooting, etc.
* Help problem solve various electrical systems and equipment.
* Assist with all types of electrical installations, including electrical wiring tasks, using schematics, diagrams, blueprints, and equipment specifications.
* Learn all procedures for installing and maintaining electrical systems using City, Provincial bylaws, and Canadian Electrical Codes.
* Learn to install and work in a safe manner following all WorkSafe and Company procedures.
* The general duties may change or be unique based on the job site you are placed in, and the requirements of the job site.
**Qualifications**
* Electrical Trade Schooling (Pre-Apprentice program / level 1 to 8 schooling)
* Ability to transport yourself to any job site (typically within the Lower Mainland or North Shore)
* Ability to consistently lift heavy objects weighing up to 50 pounds
* Ability to complete physically demanding tasks, including but not limited to multiple hours of chipping, roughing, finishing, slab work, concrete work, etc.
* Demonstrating knowledge of electrical codes and troubleshooting abilities
* Ability to follow through instructions and courage to ask for guidance when needed.
* Ability to work individually and as a team
* High attention to detail with a strong work ethic
**Working Conditions**
* Indoor and outdoor work; exposure to all-weather conditions such as rain and cold / hot temperatures
* Depending on the task, you may be involved in repetitive motions such as splicing, pulling wire, drilling, installing light fixtures, receptacles, and switches, climbing ladders etc.
* Perform physically demanding tasks: moving and lifting heavy objects; frequent bending, crouching, kneeling
* Working from heights (on ladders, scissor lifts and boom lifts)
* Working in constructions zones with potential safety hazards- exposed elements, unfinished/uneven floors, etc.
* Locations are spread across the Lower Mainland
* You are responsible for your transportation to and from job sites

Job Summary:
Install electrical control systems in new and existing buildings including retro fit projects in a construction environment. Working conditions may include restricted movement, dirty environments, hazardous materials, moderate physical duties and working at heights.
