**Job Description**
**AECOM Transportation Planning and Traffic Engineering** is growing and is seeking a dynamic and innovative **Transportation Project Manager** to join our team.
The successful candidate will be based in one of our **AECOM offices in Mississauga or Markham, Ontario** , where the multi-disciplinary transportation team works on a wide range of projects shaping and delivering transportation solutions for tomorrow across Ontario, Canada, and around the globe. **Job Description**
+ Providing clients with transportation planning and traffic engineering services, serving as a technical lead and/or project manager, with a focus on transportation planning, policy, and economics projects, such as:
+ Transportation corridor planning
+ Traffic engineering studies
+ Transit studies
+ Transportation Demand Management programs
+ Bicycle and pedestrian systems analysis
+ Community outreach
+ Land use and comprehensive planning
+ Policy analyses
+ Construction traffic management
+ Preparing documentation related to current or prospective projects, including correspondence, reports, maps, proposals, expressions of interest, specifications, consultation materials, and meeting minutes
+ Communicating and working with other project team members, including mentoring junior-level team members
+ Liaising with and assisting other departments and offices in the provision of transportation planning services to clients
+ Oversee, lead, and manage a portion of the Transportation Planning group
+ Proactively lead, mentor, and develop the group with one or more direct reports
+ Oversee and manage strong utility for your direct reports with a healthy backlog
+ In collaboration with the groups in the wider transportation division and leveraging the wider resource of AECOM, expand and grow the AECOM portfolio, our expertise, and the business within transportation/urban planning in existing and new emerging markets

**Qualifications**
**Minimum Requirements**
+ Bachelor's degree or greater in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or similar field with a strong emphasis on transportation planning or engineering
+ 4+ years of experience in transportation planning or engineering with some experience in transit, active transportation, and/or multimodal projects
+ Excellent technical writing skills and experience writing a variety of deliverable types, including technical memoranda, reports, and public-facing documents
+ Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite that includes Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
+ Experience undertaking planning studies with large data sets
+ Experience / familiarity with transportation tools (Micro/meso/macroscopic levels)
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Ideally, 7+ years of experience in transportation planning and project management
+ Master's Degree or higher is advantageous
+ Possesses an engineering license (P.Eng.) or registered professional planner designation (RPP, MCIP), or in progress to obtaining one of these
+ Experience working with local municipalities, agencies, and local government
+ Experience in transportation planning policies and infrastructure economics, including appreciation of transit service systems
+ Strong understanding of current transportation planning, policy, and infrastructure initiatives in Ontario, including land use and demographic trends, and general urban planning and related policy issues
+ Strong verbal communicator, including presentation, facilitation, and listening skills
**Additional Information**

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $80,000.00 - $30,000.00.

What will you do?
Business Development & Client Relations
- Actively leverage existing client relationships and develop new client relationships, to grow the project portfolio.
- Actively coordinate with other individuals and groups in Entuitive for marketing and business development efforts, cross selling between disciplines, work sharing, sharing of expertise, development of technical standards etc.
- Lead as the pursuit champion, providing creative and technical input into proposal development and working closely with the marketing and proposal team to clearly demonstrate Entuitive’s capabilities.

Technical Delivery

- Active involvement in bid support of contractors including quantity calculations, cost estimating, construction sequencing, and scheduling.
- Review and optimization of project and construction schedules.
- Design and construction administration coordination for multi-disciplinary teams.
- Responsible for client correspondence and communication including fee letters and status reports, ensuring the client and stakeholders are kept abreast of issues and resolutions are timely and well managed.
- Ensuring client requirements are monitored and satisfied throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
What do you need to succeed?
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in civil engineering specializing in structural/construction engineering.
- A minimum of 10 years’ progressive experience in delivering transportation or heavy civil design and construction projects.
- P.Eng. and licensed to practice in British Columbia, licenses in other locations are considered an asset.
- Registered as a Struct. Eng., or actively working towards certification is considered an asset
- Knowledgeable of local market conditions, emerging trends, and opportunities.
- Strong business acumen, contract negotiation skills, and the ability to exercise sound judgment.
- Track record of business development and bringing in new client relationships while leveraging existing accounts.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to manage complex situations with multiple stakeholders utilizing conflict resolution skills.
- Strong project management skills with ability to manage scope, schedule, and budget within a large project team.
- Strong interpersonal and team management skills with evidence of mentorship and team development.

Reporting to the Vice President, Transportation and Safety Engineering, the successful candidate will contribute to a wide range of transportation and municipal engineering projects in both public and private sectors. The position involves consulting with clients, conducting site inspections, reviewing documentation, and delivering civil and forensic engineering services with a focus on:

- Roadway winter maintenance and planning
- Road safety audits and investigations
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage transportation engineering projects with a focus on municipal roads and safety
- Conduct detailed site/forensic examinations/investigations and technical analysis
- Lead forensic assessments related to road design, construction, winter maintenance, and road safety audits
- Providing expert analysis and recommendations in complex engineering assignments in road design, construction practices, and safety
- Perform road safety audits/investigations, collision analysis (vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists), and proactive safety reviews for municipal and highway road networks
- Review engineering drawings and specifications for compliance with transportation standards, regulations, and transportation/civil engineering guidelines
- Collaborate with clients, legal teams, and stakeholders to deliver clear, evidence-based insights and reports
- Act as Project Manager, ensuring timely delivery, quality control, and budget management
- Prepare technical reports, proposals, and client presentations
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and technical oversight to junior and intermediate staff
- Attend and contribute to client, stakeholder, and public meetings
- Communicate technical findings and recommendations effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Support business development efforts by identifying private and public sector opportunities, preparing proposals, and maintaining strong client relationships
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Civil / Transportation Engineering or related field (Masters an asset)
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation
- 10+ years of progressive experience in transportation consulting engineering, with direct municipal and highways project experience strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of municipal transportation standards, policies, and approval processes
- Experience with municipal and highway road design-review/construction/maintenance, road safety audits/assessments, transportation master plans, traffic operations studies, active transportation, and transit infrastructure projects
- Strong project management, communication, and client engagement skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment while managing multiple assignments
