Egis, a global leader in the delivery of complex infrastructure projects, is currently seeking a Transportation Planning Analyst to join our team in one of our Ontario offices (Toronto or Ottawa) or in Montreal, Quebec. The successful candidate will join our leading-edge transportation planning and mobility team, working on multimodal transportation projects and collaborating with world-renowned transit and rail experts.

Egis has supported over 350 rail infrastructure projects and delivered more than 12,000 km of high-speed rail across three continents, ranking 8th worldwide for mass transit and rail. Our urban transit projects include metro, tramways, and light rail systems, with a focus on sustainability and operational efficiency. Notable achievements include the first driverless metro in Lyon and major projects like the Doha and Grand Paris metros.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the preparation of service proposals.
  • Research and analyze mobility data to identify trends and issues.
  • Operate specialized software in transportation modeling or traffic engineering.
  • Conduct GIS analysis using tools such as ArcGIS or QGIS.
  • Support the execution of mobility studies, including multimodal transportation planning, traffic engineering, and rail and urban transport.
Qualifications

  • University degree in engineering, urban planning, economics, geography, operations research, or a related field.
  • Possess excellent analytical and synthesis skills.
  • Demonstrate a strong sense of organization.
  • Exhibit open-mindedness and flexibility.
  • Show proficiency in developing solutions.
  • Have experience in data analysis and processing, as well as knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of topics and software related to transportation planning or modelling is an asset.
  • Knowledge of GIS is an asset.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English is required. Strong knowledge of French is also expected for candidates based in the Montreal office.

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and driven Project Manager with a focus on transportation to join our growing team in Canada, in our Toronto or Vancouver office. The ideal candidate will lead project delivery, support business development efforts, and manage multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality solutions to our clients.   • Lead the conceptualization, development, and delivery of new and existing transportation-related projects.
  • Oversee work conducted by multidisciplinary project teams to ensure alignment with scope, budget, and quality expectations.
  • Manage junior staff and mentor early-career professionals to support their technical and professional growth.
  • Coordinate and collaborate effectively with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders.

Requirements

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of local transportation agencies and partners, policies, transportation planning techniques, evaluation techniques, data management and analytics, stakeholder dynamics, and strategic communications.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience crafting project budgets, identifying and mitigating risks, tracking finances, managing subconsultants, and directing project and team resources effectively.

Soft Skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to take initiative, work independently, and lead teams.
  • Highly organized with a keen attention to detail and strong time-management skills.
  • Enjoys collaborative problem-solving and thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environments.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Transportation Planning, Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, Economics, or a related field.
  • 5-9 years of relevant professional experience in transportation planning or a related field. Priority will be given to candidates with consulting experience.
  • Proven track record managing technical deliverables and meeting client expectations.
  • Experience developing successful proposals and managing project budgets.

Your Opportunity
We are currently seeking applications (2) for Engineers in our Transportation Planning and Traffic Engineering (TPTE) group, for our Alberta offices. These individuals will work independently on smaller projects, and as a team member on larger projects under the guidance of a Senior Engineer. The positions will include work on a variety of projects including traffic analysis, functional/concept planning & design, and active transportation planning & design. This opportunity is ideal for motivated individuals who are self-starters, passionate about working with people and have a keen interest in Transportation Planning and Traffic Engineering.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Complete Transportation Impact Assessments for a variety of small and large projects
- Conduct and assist with traffic analysis using various software platforms (Synchro, SIDRA, VISSIM, etc.)
- Functional and conceptual planning/design for urban and rural roadways
- Planning and design of complete streets and active modes infrastructure
- Writing and editing technical reports and engineering studies
- Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams on major transportation projects
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients including municipal/provincial agencies and private developers
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Self-motivated individuals with the ability to work in a team environment
- Understanding and awareness of traffic analysis methodology and standards
- Excellent written/verbal communication and strong people skills
- Time-management skills; understanding of task assignment and schedule, budgeting and efficient use of time and resources.
