Your Opportunity
Stantec Consulting Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Intermediate Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of working experience in ITS and must be registered with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO). This role involves planning, evaluating, designing, implementing, and managing intelligent transportation systems projects to improve traffic flow, safety, and efficiency.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop intelligent transportation systems, including but not limited to variable message sign (VMS), closed circuit television (CCTV) camera, vehicle detection station (VDS), queue warning station (QWS), travel time (TT), communications and power.
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for ITS projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate ITS solutions with existing infrastructure.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of ITS systems and recommend improvements.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and project teams.
- Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and documentation for stakeholders.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in ITS technology and best practices.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Strong knowledge of ITS technologies, including traffic signal systems, sensors, and communication networks.
- Proficiency in relevant software tools including:- MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- MS Project
- AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
- Adobe Acrobat and/or Bluebeam Revu
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with transportation experience is preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in Intelligent Transportation Systems.
- Must be registered with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with project management and leadership roles.
- Familiarity with workplace Health and Safety requirements.
- Familiarity with industry best practises.

About the Role - Job Description

As a Supply Chain Buyer for TAG Hardware you are leading the purchasing and logistical activity of raw materials and various goods through ERP/MPR and Excel tools. Projects can include distribution center capacity assessment, forecasting analytics as well as network optimization. This intern will also provide support to our Automated Orders, Demand, Store and Business Services departments, learning even more about our business by supporting the teams with promotional, pricing and store operations inquiries.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Provide data analysis support for new automated and existing operations, with focus on productivity improvement
  • Perform detailed analysis and research to conduct feasibility studies in support of the development of project business case analysis
  • Assist new projects by documenting existing processes and mapping of future ones
  • Support the Store and Business Services teams with inquiries and root cause analysis and corrective measures execution
  • Provide support to the automated ordering team in activities that ensure smooth daily operations and effective store ordering
  • Support Demand team with demand-related tasks, and by delivering relevant data and actionable insights

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Industrial Engineering/Supply Chain Management/Business undergraduate student (or equivalent)
  • Ability to model operational problems
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Highly proficient PC skills including MS Excel, Access, Visio, and Project (an asset)
  • Self-motivated, capable of managing multiple projects and strong data mining skills
  • Moderate travelling between Ontario's Distribution Centers is needed and travel between Ontario and Quebec may be required
  • Weekend and evening work as required on an occasional basis
  • Bilingual (an asset)
