Be apart of our sales team that will build and grow our National Managed Inbound Freight Program.
Hereu2019s where youu2019ll be focusing:
As a member of our National Transportation team, with responsibility for networking with carriers and suppliers to continually evaluate network opportunities to expand program to additional regions based on carrier and supplier. You will work in a highly collaborative environment, developing relationships and partnering with peers, managers and Directors across the company to deliver goals in a fast-paced environment.
- Assist specialists with all supplier negotiations and sales call documentation / related administrative tasks.
- Facilitate carrier rates quotes as needed and evaluate profitability.
- Network with carriers and suppliers to continually evaluate network opportunities to expand program to additional regions based on carrier and supplier reviews. Document and monitor these reviews for future opportunities.
- Assist in onboarding for new suppliers.
- Ensure carriers have all required documentation on file. (Insurance, WCB, etc.)
- Collect national fuel data used to establish surcharges and ensure communication is sent to all suppliers and carriers as needed.
- Build and distribute the reporting suite to track profitability, receivables, and supplier conversion.
- Partner with Finance on MIF Sales Budget.
What you have to offer:
3 years of experience in inventory control, transportation/supply chain experience including international freight experience
- Relevant designation/credentials in logistics, supply chain, and/or transportation (P.Log, CITT, CPIM or PMAC, ERP) is preferred
- Experience within large retailers and large suppliers
- Experience using current logistics technology as it applies to transportation management
- Experience selling freight & negotiating preferred
- Experienced with detailed financial management experience specifically P&L

**Role Responsibilities:**
- Address the questions and concerns of Drivers and Sales Representatives; work closely with Transportation Manager and Supervisors to provide resolution.
- Retrieve telephone calls and assist Customer Service Representative or Sales Representative with daily routes concerns (late departures, deliveries, time windows, driver complaints, forecasted arrival times, customer location, hours of operation etc.).
- Ensure accurate on-time reporting for department and corporate key metrics.
- Compile route status information and communicate daily via various electronic means.
- Work closely with Transportation Manager or Supervisor to review situations that have a potential impact on department cost or service levels.
- Manage required training documents for various internal and external audit requirements.
- Communicate and log driver challenges and concerns to assigned Transportation Supervisor for resolution.
- Packing & unpacking of driver route bags accurately with all required paperwork, tools and keys.
- Assists Supervisors with organizing the recovery effects due to customer service failures.
- Is willing to work safely with minimal environmental impact and understands the importance of reporting all hazards, incidents, and environmental spills immediately to their Supervisor.
- Understands that they play an integral role in their own safety and that of their colleagues and is willing to speak out when hazards are present.
- Responsible for compliance with all Policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) comprising Sysco’s Food Safety Program, specific for the assigned role.
- Assist Food Safety Program Manager in ensuring compliance to Sysco’s Food Safety Program that leads to compliance with third party certification and customer requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications/Skills/Job Requirements (About you):**
- Minimum one (1) year of clerical and administrative experience
- High School Diploma Required
- Previous experience in the transportation industry is preferred.
- Experience with MOT record keeping, HOS regulations is helpful.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.)

About the Opportunity:
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Transportation Engineerat our office in Vancouver, BC. The Transportation Engineer will be responsible for providing technical guidance and conducting research for software development projects while working collaboratively with software developers, product managers, marketing, sales and technical support staff.
NOTE: This is a hybrid role where you will be expected to work a minimum of 2 days per week in our Vancouver office.
In this role, you will be expected to:
- Capture market needs and define requirements, support the definition of product strategy, prioritize product features and capabilities to define the product roadmap;

- Conduct regular reviews and testing of prototypes during development to verify software outputs as well as provide user proxy feedback regarding UI & product functionality;
- Assist in product branding, positioning, and messaging;
- Assist in developing marketing assets including collaterals requiring technical content or substance (e.g., white papers, blogs, graphics, press releases, advertising content);
- Conduct product webcasts and presentations to showcase products or industry news;
- Manage, maintain, and develop technical training contents (including presentation content).
- Provide support to the sales team on any technical inquiries from prospects.
- Represent Transoft through client site visits, conferences/tradeshows.
About You:
- You hold a Bachelors degree in Transportation Engineering from an accredited university, you have registration in good standing as a PEng (Canada) or PE (US).
- You have 10+ years of relevant and progressive experience in transportation planning and traffic engineering for roadways and highways (after receiving your professional engineering license);
- You bring experience with traffic signal timing, capacity and safety analysis, traffic impact analysis, traffic modeling, travel demand modeling, traffic signage and pavement marking plans, traffic signal system design, and traffic management plans during construction, intersection analysis, traffic calming studies, pedestrian and bicycle safety, and safety audits;
- You were involved in transportation planning and engineering projects for roadways, highways, and transit facilities; You are proficient in engineering design, including geometric design of freeways, interchanges, highways, intersections, roundabouts, and streets;
- You have a detailed understanding of highway geometric design and traffic operations;
- You are an expert in generating engineering deliverables that include traffic signal timings, traffic management plans, traffic impact studies, conceptual designs, and other supporting documents and drawings;
- You are aware of best practices and the latest technology in the transportation engineering industry;
- You have been involved in client relationship building and business development activities, including marketing and attendance at conferences and seminars;
- You have experience in developing concept designs and advancing them to the detailed design stage;
- You possess strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively, respectfully, and tactfully;
- You possess a strong and working understanding of traffic engineering fundamentals and traffic operational analysis tools such as Synchro/SimTraffic, SIDRA, HCS, and VISSIM;
- You demonstrate proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation, particularly in the application of roadway and highway geometric design.
