About the Opportunity:

We currently have an exciting opportunity for aTransportation Engineerat our office in Vancouver, BC. The Transportation Engineer will be responsible for providing technical guidance and conducting research for software development projects while working collaboratively with software developers, product managers, marketing, sales and technical support staff.

NOTE: This is a hybrid role where you will be expected to work a minimum of 2 days per week in our Vancouver office.

In this role, you will be expected to:

• Capture market needs and define requirements, support the definition of product strategy, prioritize product features and capabilities to define the product roadmap;
• Build and maintain strong relationships with industry experts;
• Review and understand full capabilities and positioning of competitor products, including any competitive intelligence activities such as developing detailed reports and summaries for key stakeholders;
• Provide input into new development ideas, develop marketing plans, report on customer feedback;
• Manage and lead technical research initiatives to support market research and market sizing exercises;
• Prepare vision statements, use cases, technical specifications, and requirements documentation for use by Software Development and liaise with product users prior, during, and after product launch, including alpha and beta test phases;
• Conduct regular reviews and testing of prototypes during development to verify software outputs as well as provide user proxy feedback regarding UI & product functionality;
• Assist in product branding, positioning, and messaging;
• Assist in developing marketing assets including collaterals requiring technical content or substance (e.g., white papers, blogs, graphics, press releases, advertising content);
• Conduct product webcasts and presentations to showcase products or industry news;
• Manage, maintain, and develop technical training contents (including presentation content).
• Provide support to the sales team on any technical inquiries from prospects.
• Represent Transoft through client site visits, conferences/tradeshows.

About You:

• You hold a Bachelors degree in Transportation Engineering from an accredited university, you have registration in good standing as a PEng (Canada) or PE (US).
• You have 10+ years of relevant and progressive experience in transportation planning and traffic engineering for roadways and highways (after receiving your professional engineering license);
  
• You bring experience with traffic signal timing, capacity and safety analysis, traffic impact analysis, traffic modeling, travel demand modeling, traffic signage and pavement marking plans, traffic signal system design, and traffic management plans during construction, intersection analysis, traffic calming studies, pedestrian and bicycle safety, and safety audits;
  
• You were involved in transportation planning and engineering projects for roadways, highways, and transit facilities; You are proficient in engineering design, including geometric design of freeways, interchanges, highways, intersections, roundabouts, and streets;
• You have a detailed understanding of highway geometric design and traffic operations;
• You are an expert in generating engineering deliverables that include traffic signal timings, traffic management plans, traffic impact studies, conceptual designs, and other supporting documents and drawings;
• You are aware of best practices and the latest technology in the transportation engineering industry;
• You have been involved in client relationship building and business development activities, including marketing and attendance at conferences and seminars;
• You have experience in developing concept designs and advancing them to the detailed design stage;
• You possess strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively, respectfully, and tactfully;
• You possess a strong and working understanding of traffic engineering fundamentals and traffic operational analysis tools such as Synchro/SimTraffic, SIDRA, HCS, and VISSIM;
• You demonstrate proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation, particularly in the application of roadway and highway geometric design.

Salary Range: 110K-125K annually + bonus (Actual salary offered will be commensurate with education, experience and internal parity).

Reporting to the General Manager, the Transportation Manager oversees the operations of our Transportation Team which is comprised of over 100 Drivers that work in an extremely time sensitive industry. Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

Responsible for safety, security, quality, and compliance with airline customer & regulatory requirements as well as company policies and procedures
Conducts audits to validate above compliance
Develops, recommends and implements short- and long-term goals for the Transportation Department
Actively engage with Supervisors, Team Leads and front-line employees to drive performance, development & retention and create a team culture within the department
Actively works with leadership on process improvements that will benefit the organization
Oversees or is personally involved in interviewing, and hiring new employees, performance management, directing the training and development of staff and carrying out corrective action
Ensures employees new to job or department receive adequate training including operational procedures, health and safety requirements and Company rules and regulations
Ensures employees are managed within the collective agreement
Actively Manages labour throughout entire cycle (forecast, plan, execution, follow-up and reporting including vacation scheduling) to ensure operational needs are met and budgets are met or exceeded
Fulfills all duties related to Health and Safety including taking an active leadership role in H&S committee
Develops action plans to reduce accidents and days lost. (W.C.B.)
Supports modified work plans as necessary, communicates plan to supervisors and ensures adherence by both employee and supervisors
Ensures all Food Safety related SOPs are followed
Investigates and resolves any service deficiency’s and or accidents/incidents involving the Transportation Department and reports out as appropriate in a timely manner
Ensures all employee time punch details are accurate and submitted to payroll on a timely basis
Responsible to ensure the fleet is maintained to company standards within budget, including regular interior and exterior cleaning

Education:
Professional qualifications in operations / logistics an asset

Work Experience:
Must have a minimum of 5 years of Operations Management experience in a fast-paced environment
Advanced labour planning experience an asset
Previous experience in a highly regulated environment an asset
Previous experience managing a large commercial fleet an asset

Job Skills :

Must have proven strong and effective leadership skills
Superior analytical & problem-solving skills
Solid PC skills including MS Excel

About the Role - Job Description

As a Supply Chain Buyer for TAG Hardware you are leading the purchasing and logistical activity of raw materials and various goods through ERP/MPR and Excel tools. You are watchful of adequate inventory levels and material flow as you collaborate and communicate with all stakeholders in this cycle.

A key element for success in this role is to have curiosity to learn how things are made and an interest on the steps happening in the making of our products. By developing in-depth product and manufacturing process understanding you will be very effective working with suppliers, controlling costs and ensuring supply continuity.

Procurement Operations:

• Manage purchase orders and deliveries.
• Issue, confirm, and track purchase orders while communicating with internal teams to resolve any issues or delays.
• Monitor and address discrepancies in receiving and invoicing.
• Maintain accurate system data including prices, delivery dates, and part information.
• Ensure consistency in product quality by tracking and escalating non-conformances.
• Monitor supplier performance and follow up on late or incomplete deliveries.
• Support inventory management through timely reconciliation of stock discrepancies.
• Review and interpret MRP (Material Requirements Planning) reports and initiate re-orders for low stock items, including raw materials, consumables, tools, and office supplies.
• Create and upload receiving documentation for container deliveries (e.g. pallet details and labeling).

Vendor Engagement & Sourcing Support:

• Develop and maintain effective supplier relationships, influencing value-added opportunities while supporting vendor success.
• Provide quoting and sourcing assistance for cross-functional improvement initiatives.
• Prepare sourcing packages (RFQs) with clear service and quality expectations, demand forecasts, and logistics requirements.
• Understand and analyze supplier quotes and pricing structures.
• Gain familiarity with manufacturing processes and cost drivers.
• Contribute to cost-reduction and process improvement efforts with a proactive mindset.

• Holds a university degree in related field.
• Has familiarity with manufacturing environments and a technical understanding of processes and the elements of product costing – experience with extruded/anodized aluminum and/or zinc die-casting is ideal.
