Based in a world class Horizon North camp facility, the regular shift for this position is 20 days on and 10 days off, with 10-hour workdays. Transportation is provided to site from a pickup point in Edmonton.
As a
**Housekeeper** , reporting to the Head Housekeeper, you will ensure the over-all cleanliness of our facilities to the highest level.
**This position is safety sensitive and requires drug, alcohol and fit to work testing as a condition of employment.**
**Your work will include:**
Conducting walk-downs - cleaning 30 rooms per day and may vary depending on client occupancy.
Full housekeeping services in guest rooms and hallways.
Making the beds and changing linen weekly; or as needed.
Vacuuming and dusting all room furniture blinds including hallways.
Washing, scrubbing and sanitizing bathroom, windows and mirrors.
Emptying garbage from all sleeping areas including trash and recycling collection.
Washing and folding towels, linens and beddings.
Loading and unloading laundry and linen truck as well as supplies.
Maintaining an accurate record of all bedding allotted in lodge, assist with the inventory, and report any shortages to the Lodge Manager.

What you'll do
- Professionally clean and maintain Vacasa properties using cleaning procedures and products in conformance with prescribed company standards
- Sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and washing all surfaces
- Move all reasonably portable furniture in rooms to clean under and behind
- Assist with laundry as needed
- Create a welcoming environment for our guests and owners by ensuring homes are clean and cared for
- Identify and note any damages to homes. Create maintenance tickets as necessary
- Collect and remove trash and debris
- Meet and maintain required Housekeeping metrics
- Attend all mandatory individual and team meetings
- Replenish consumable items such as soaps and paper products
- Maintain hot tubs as needed; no experience necessary - we offer on-site training
- Other responsibilities as assigned - because every day looks different

The North Bay Indigenous Hub (NBIH) requires a permanent, part- time Housekeeper.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have minimum of Grade 12 education or equivalent
- Must have valid First Aid & CPR, as well as WHMIS training or be willing to obtain
- Experience using computers i.e. regular email correspondence
- Previous custodial and grounds experience preferred
- Knowledge of standard cleaning methods and procedures, supplies and tools
- Health and Safety Certificate

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Job Duties
- Correctly clean all assigned guest rooms and common areas including dusting, making beds, linen removal from rooms, retrieval of clean linen from linen closets, vacuuming, bathroom cleaning, inside window cleaning and more- all to Sonora Resorts standards.
- Scrubbing, sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping the floors in guest rooms, public spaces, staff common areas and meeting rooms.
- Provide cleaning services during the day and turn down service during the evening.
- Update and record all cleaned rooms in close relationship with the department manager and Guest Services.
- Fill guest requests in a timely and efficient manner.
- Laundry services including sorting, folding and pressing a variety of linen.
- Ensure effective working relationships and clear communication is maintained with all colleagues and departments.
- Drive small electric vehicles around the resort.
- Trustworthy with sensitive and confidential company information (company + guest).
- Exemplary customer service skills and a demonstrated willingness to exceed guest expectations.
- Adapts easily to change; works quickly and accurately under pressure, tight deadlines and multiple priorities.
- Physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
- Repetitive tasks, handling heavy loads, combination of standing, walking, or sitting for extended periods of time, bending, crouching, kneeling.
- Applicant must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
- Must be fluent in English, second language an asset.
- First Aid certificates are an asset.
- One (1) year of experience in housekeeping services; experience in a live-in resort environment is preferred.
- High School Diploma required.

Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the housekeeping Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Consistently offer professional, engaging, and proactive resident service while supporting fellow crew members to ensure the exceptional resident experience
- Clean all assigned resident and crew cabins, including dusting, making beds, soiled linen removal from cabins, and retrieval of clean linen closets, vacuuming, bathroom cleaning, interior window cleaning, replenishing cabins with supplies.
- Sign in and out master keys daily
- Maintain proper usage of cleaning supplies and equipment
- Update and record all cleaned cabins
- Return and properly tag all lost and found articles at the Reception Desk
- Report violations of health and safety regulations by guests
- Follow all safety and sanitation policies while performing
- Other duties are assigned
Qualifications
- A housekeeping diploma or related training may be preferred
- Previous housekeeper experience preferred
- Excellent knowledge of chemicals, HSK equipment
- STCW Basic Safety Courses
- Seafarer's Medical Certificate
- Proven experience as Housekeeper, preferably in a floating food service platform or cruise ship environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations and the ability to ensure compliance.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
