Overview:
This member of the Canadian Mental Health Association works alongside a team of professionals whose focus is safety, stability and support for individuals in a mental health crisis who are in immediate contact with police but not suitable for incarcerations or admission to the hospital. The team would consist of a multidisciplinary team either within the Canadian Mental Health Association, Kenora Branch or another community agency. This member is responsible for assessing clients physical health needs, making appropriate referrals to community physicians, providing management and administration of medication in conjunction with the a practitioner, and providing a range of treatment, rehabilitation, and support services both for a variety of programs offered by the Canadian Mental Health Association, Kenora Branch. The Registered
Nurse/Registered Practical Nurse will coordinate shift-management with other registered nurse/registered practical nurses within the Canadian Mental Health Association, Kenora Branch. This position reports directly to the Safe Bed Program Team Lead and Chief Executive Officer.

Provide case management for an assigned group of clients and their families
Function as a fully integrated member of the team for the client residing within the residences or other
identified agency programs
Assessment of client needs and mental status and the development of appropriate recovery plans
Facilitate and monitor the implementation of client recovery plans
Participate in staff meetings and recovery plan meetings
Participate on specific Committees or task or work groups as assigned by the Safe Bed Program Team
Lead and Chief Executive Officer
Provide a safe environment by ensuring adherences to Workplace Health and Safety Regulations and

The Akausivik Inuit Family Health Team (AIFHT) is currently looking for aRegistered Nurse to work conjointly with the interdisciplinary team of physicians, case managers, interpreters and other service providers to serve as medical and cultural interpreters for AIFHT patients. The Registered Nurse supports the activities of the staff physicians, residents and students. The position provides a high level of patient care in a team of health professionals and is responsible for co-ordination of patients' care with other health care professionals and outside resources, patient follow up, triage, developing an ongoing awareness of the various programs and services available in the community, acting as a health resource to community members, and providing for patient care in the office, including assisting at minor procedures and general nursing care. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:
- Two years clinical experience in a Primary Care setting as a Registered Nurse
- Diploma or Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing

- Current membership in professional associations, RNAO, NPAO
- Demonstrated competence in team building, conflict management, and interpersonal effectiveness
- Teaching experience will be considered an asset

Job Duties
Utilize proper travel medicine and general medicine processes to provide immunizations and travel health counseling in a safe and effective manner.
Provide friendly, efficient, and safe service to patients and clients.
Diligently participate in the company’s training to ensure up to date knowledge of travel medicine and vaccination.
Adhere to safety protocols as set by the company’s medical directives and regulations.
Demonstrate outstanding customer service and communication skills.
Practice appropriate storage and handling of vaccines, includes but not limited to carrying and lifting vaccine boxes.
Accepting delivered packages and ensure all inventory is accounted for.
Carrying and organizing clinic supplies.
Ensures the clinic and storage room is clean and well organized.
May be responsible for meeting and unpacking packages, vaccines, furniture and fixtures during clinic set up.
Responsible for organization and maintenance of clinic space to facilitate smooth client flow.
Collaborate with the Nurse Management Team to train new staff.
Perform other duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
Previous experience working in travel Medicine, either in a private clinic or Public Health setting is an asset.
Must be willing to travel to the clinic location in Westmount.
Access to a vehicle is preferred.
Ability to follow Medical Directives in order to safely administer vaccines and dispense medications to comply with Passport Health Standard of Care.
Registered Nurse certification with current license in good standing.
Must have excellent computer skills.
First Aid/CPR certified.
Must successfully pass background check.
Superior interpersonal skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated professionalism and ability to communicate effectively with corporate clients.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and self-directed environment.
Ability to complete assigned tasks without detailed supervision.
Flexible and able to communicate using a mobile device.
Working conditions
Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
Intermittent physical activity including walking, standing, sitting, lifting and supporting patients.
Moves and restructures organization of storage room to make space for new inventory
Must be available to work every weekend ( Saturdays and some Sundays) ( part-time 16 hours/week) + (8 hour shifts).
Comfortable work autonomously in the clinic during working hours.

Job DescriptionThe enhanced new unit including services for general medicine and general surgery has a dedicated and ambitious multidisciplinary team whom are committed to providing exemplary patient and family centered care. The day to day activity of the unit is ever changing as the patient population and diagnoses are so diverse. The unit is supported by a Clinical Resource Nurse, a Professional Practice Clinician and a Patient Care Manager. The successful incumbent will provide safe, evidence-informed quality nursing care to an acute medical and surgical patient population by combining interpersonal communication with clinical knowledge and skills.
- Ability to function to the full scope of practice as per CNO
- Demonstrate the ability to competently assess the patient, intervene appropriately and evaluate outcomes
- Demonstrate the knowledge, experience and ability to provide care for patients with a variety of needs including but not limited to: initiation and maintenance of IV’s, administration of medication delivered via various routes, blood and blood product administration, patient controlled analgesia, TPN, care and maintenance of CVADs, capillary blood glucose monitoring, NG tubes, chest tubes, enteral feeds, wound management, oxygen therapy and tracheostomies
- Be able to provide appropriate care to pre-operative and post-operative patient
- Ability to interpret normal and abnormal laboratory values with appropriate nursing interventions
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrate the ability to prioritize and organize the delivery of care in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment
- Demonstrate an understanding of the role of the RN as a member of the interdisciplinary team
- Demonstrate an ability to communicate efficiently, effectively and respectfully to patients, visitors and members of the interdisciplinary team
- Demonstrate a commitment to providing patient-centered and family-centered care

- Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current Heart & Stroke approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire

- Critical care experience is preferred
- Physical Assessment Course is an asset
- Ability to prioritize and work efficiently in a rapidly changing environment

- Previous experience working with Meditech and McKesson Visibility is an asset
- Strong patient assessment skills required

Hours : Monday to Sunday, Various rotating 12 hour shifts - 0730-1930 and 1930-0730 (Hours are subject to change based on operational needs)
Salary : $39.07 to $56.00 per hour
