Responsibilities
- Create high-quality, user-focused product documentation such as operations and maintenance manuals, IETMs (Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals), and training materials.
- Incorporate diagrams and illustrations into written content to increase users understanding.
- Work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs), engineers, trainers, and program managers to gather and validate technical content.
- Tailor content for customers, operators, and maintainers of underwater systems with the goal of simplifying complex information, making it easy to understand.
- Maintain consistency with internal style guides and documentation standards and specifications (such as S1000D).
- Support other writing assignments such as program documentation, technical reports, proposals and internal documents.
- Follow internal company procedures for publications development and document control.
- Represent the technical publications team at project meetings and design reviews, as required.
Qualifications
- 3 years of technical writing experience and ability to simplify complex information.
- Exceptional clarity and precision in writing, with a strong command of the English language.
- Familiarity with S1000D specification is desired.
- Experience in creating Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals.
- Experience with XML-based authoring tools.
- Awareness of Simplified Technical English.
- Comfortable working independently and managing multiple documentation projects simultaneously.
- Organized with strong time management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
- Curiosity and willingness to learn about GTI products and open to new tools and technologies.

The Junior Technical Writer at ARxIUM contributes to the creation of clear, concise technical documentation, supporting our products and ensuring high-quality manuals for users, service teams, and installations
This role is a hybrid position based in Winnipeg, MB.
What You'll Be doing:
- Assist in organizing material and completing writing assignments according to set standards for order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.
- Maintain records, files of work and revisions.
- Collaborate with technical staff to assist in preparing user, service, and installation manuals for company products.
- Research and develop an understanding of end-user, service department, and installation department requirements for documentation.
- Learn to edit, standardize, or make changes to material prepared by other writers.
- Assist in selecting and creating photographs, drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts to illustrate materials.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Diploma in Communications or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 1 to 2 years’ experience as a Technical Writer or in a similar role.
- Exposure to the electro-mechanical automation field is an asset but not required.
- Familiarity with working in a company that manufactures its own products is preferred.
- Understanding of ISO or FDA cGMP Quality Management Systems is an asset.
