Reporting to the Supervisor, Guest Experience and Ticket Operations, the Merchandise Representative assists in executing the handling and sale of artist merchandise in venues managed by Regina Exhibition Association Limited (REAL). This position helps to maintain a friendly environment while ensuring an excellent guest experience by providing prompt and thorough customer service. This position will achieve these goals by greeting guests in a friendly and professional manner, delivering on their merchandising needs, processing purchases with the POS with guest credit/debit cards, maintaining accurate cash handling, and maintaining an organized and visually appealing merchandise display.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
1. Performing inventory control by:
- Accurately counting all merchandise prior to the start of an event.
- At the end of an event, responsible for closing out which includes a final count on the remaining merchandise to be returned.
2. Conduct event merchandise purchasing processes by:
- Assisting customers with merchandise purchasing decisions by sharing merchandise information such as pricing and sizing clearly and concisely.
- Adhering to payment processing procedures at a point of sale in the venue for both cash and debit/credit card purchases.
- Maximizing all sales opportunities during the transaction process through additional product offerings.
- Maintaining Merchandising area throughout the event.
- Thanking all guests for attending and for their purchase as they are leaving.
3. Conduct outstanding customer service by:
- Remaining friendly and attentive to the needs of all guests and provide superior customer service to all internal and external clients.
- Assisting guests with purchasing decisions by finding merchandise that best meet their needs.
- Being visible and available to provide superior service for event attendees in various locations within or around REAL's venues as deemed necessary.
- Keeping Merchandise Area safe, clean and tidy for best first impressions.
4. Keen Knowledge of Events & Venue Procedures:
- Work under limited supervision and apply broadly defined procedure to varying situations.
- Responsible for obtaining and having a working knowledge of all procedures and directives that pertain to each event.
- Observe safety procedures and use of equipment and materials properly.
- Responsible for obtaining and having a working knowledge of emergency procedures.
Wage: $15.58 - $17.72

Education and Experience
- Previous experience in guests/customer service in forward-facing industries is considered an asset.
- Cash handling experience is considered an asset.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. repeatedly throughout the shift using proper lifting techniques.

- Must possess excellent verbal and interpersonal skills and diplomacy with the public.
- Strong observational skills to proactively identify guest needs, have full knowledge of merchandise procedures, services, and facility locations (staff will be trained in these areas).
- Contribute to a high-energy, fast-paced environment that provides guests with an entertaining, fun and dynamic experience.
- Consistently arrive to work on time, follow instructions, respond to management direction, and solicit feedback to improve performance.

- Recreation programs may include, but are not limited to, sports, dance, educational (ex. Home Alone), music, and more.
- Deliver City of Woodstock March Break, Winter Break, and P.A. day camp programs.
- Deliver City of Woodstock birthday party packages, themes may include, but are not limited to, sport parties, nerf parties, dance parties, and more.
- Performs duties such as, but not limited to:
- Responsible for the direct supervision of participants;
- Responsible for following and adapting lesson plans;
- Responsible for the tracking of programs, attendance, incidents, and accidents;
- Know and follow facility and department policies and procedures (including emergency procedures);
- Follow safety supervision basics and ensure safety of program participants. Practice a preventative approach to safety;
- Deliver programs following the HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development and Design Guidelines.
- Works with minimal supervision.
- Ability to deal with the public (handle complaints, inquiries) in a pleasant and courteous manner.
- Refers inquiries or situations that they are unable to handle to full time staff or supervisor.
- Performs other duties as assigned from time to time.
- Minimum Grade 10;
- Must have Standard First Aid and CPR-C Certification;
- Must have HIGH FIVE - Principles of Healthy Child Development;
- Must have experience in the programs that you will be hired to teach, including, but not limited to, sports, physical and non-physical activities, creative programs, and educational programs like Home Alone.
- An asset – Class G2 driver’s license in good standing and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Able to work flexible hours including daytime, evening, weekends, late nights and holidays, depending on the needs of the facility.

- Receives and processes facility bookings and program registrations, using registration software,
- Shares knowledge of all programs with patrons,

- Performs cashier duties including:
- Processes program registrations and fees,

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with computers required.
- Minimum 1 year experience in customer service and/or cash handling or accounting experience.
- Standard First Aid with CPR-C and AED certification.
- Experience with registration software; use of PerfectMind Software considered an asset.
- Subject to frequent interruptions due to high volume of patron traffic in public office.
