Key Responsibilities:

This position ensures vehicles are inspected to the highest standards of condition and functionality before delivery or further production stages. Located in Etobicoke Ontario, it is an essential role for detail-oriented individuals passionate about automotive quality.

  1. Comprehensive Vehicle Inspections:
    • Perform detailed inspections of vehicles to ensure their condition and functionality meet company standards.
    • Evaluate vehicles for cosmetic, mechanical, and functional issues, ensuring readiness for delivery or further production.
  2. Cosmetic Inspection:
    • Examine the exterior and interior for scratches, dents, paint inconsistencies, and trim alignment.
    • Ensure all interior finishes, such as upholstery and dashboard elements, are free from defects.
  3. Functional Testing:
    • Test vehicle features such as windows, mirrors, HVAC systems, and advanced safety or connectivity options.
  4. Observe and Record:
    • Maintain thorough inspection records and notes using an iPad and specialized inspection software.
  5. Safety and Compliance:
    • Operate vehicles and inspection tools responsibly and in adherence to safety protocols.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies and automotive industry regulations during inspections.
Qualifications:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Training in automotive inspection or quality control is a plus.
  • License: Minimum of a G2 Driver's License (valid in Ontario).
  • Driving Record: Clean driver's abstract with no major infractions.
  • Background Check: Clean criminal background check.
  • Work Authorization: Legally authorized to work in Canada.
  • Location: Must be able to commute to Etobicoke, Ontario.
  • Availability: Minimum of 40 hours per week , Monday to Friday, with overtime as needed.

Duration: Temp - start as a 3-month assignment and then will be renewed on a month-to-month basis

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your technical expertise in a new cutting-edge field.

You'll provide field support for maintenance, repairs, and/or operation of vehicles. Tasks required on the interior of the vehicle will require working in a vertical space of 105 to 135 cm and may involve sitting, crawling, crouching, stooping, bending, twisting, kneeling and/or lying down to access some areas, as some tasks require working in areas with space constraints. The worker may also be required to lay on a creeper to complete work under the vehicle. Vertical clearance under the vehicle is approximately 65 cm. 

Sustainment ship floor employees are required to climb on/off vehicles, which may include climbing through roof hatches, rear openings, and/or the driver’s hatch. It is common for Assemblers/FSRs to complete many assembly tasks in the same area of the vehicle while maintaining static or similar postures for a period of time.

Operating HPLC/UPLC instruments.

Ensure compliance with good manufacturing practices (cGMP) and regulatory requirements in manufacturing of pharmaceutical products.

In this role you will be a valued member of Dawson Construction, working in a temporary, full-time position of **Quality Control Supervisor**, reporting to the **Manager of Quality**. This position is a critical part of the Dawson Construction Quality Control Team and plays an integral part in our Quality Management System (QMS). The ideal candidate will effectively work with customers, both internal and external, to provide a valued service as an industry expert in quality services. Your base location will be **Kamloops, BC** and will require travel throughout our great province.

**WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE**

* Prioritize safety of self and others in all aspects of this role
* Supervise, schedule, and support field quality control technicians and inspectors
* Lead and mentor QC staff in field testing procedures, data tracking, and compliance
* Assist with preparation and review of quality control documentation and reports
* Ensure materials testing and field inspection meets project specifications and industry standards
* Develop and implement project-specific QC plans and procedures
* Work closely with project managers, superintendents, and client representatives to address quality-related concerns
* Oversee field testing and inspection for aggregate production, asphalt paving, concrete, and subgrade construction
* Maintain strong working knowledge of specifications for civil construction materials and methods (e.g., asphalt, concrete, granular base)
* Well-versed in Proctor compaction testing, nuclear density testing, and a wide range of standard materials testing procedures

**WHAT YOU BRING**

* 3–5 years of experience in civil construction, quality control, or related field
* Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
* Strong knowledge of MoTI, MMCD, and other civil construction standards
* Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capabilities
* Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and testing requirements
* Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills
* Proficiency in report writing and use of quality control tracking tools
* Willingness to travel and work extended hours when required
* Safety-oriented and committed to promoting a culture of quality and continuous improvement
