Your Role: Delivery Truck Driver reporting to our Logistics Manager
What You Bring:
- Safely and efficiently operate company-owned trucks to transport goods between suppliers, Tech-Wood locations, and designated destinations.
- Load and unload materials from the truck using appropriate equipment and securing loads to prevent damage during transportation.
- Optimize delivery routes to ensure efficient and timely deliveries.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring that all safety and maintenance standards are met.
- Adhere to all applicable traffic laws, regulations, and company policies while on the road.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date logs of driving activities, including hours of service, vehicle inspections, and cargo records.
- Communicate effectively with the Logistics department to coordinate delivery schedules and update on any delays or issues.
- Keep accurate records of deliveries: fill out hazard assessments for each job site and obtain customer signatures or proof of delivery as required.
- Collaborate with other departments and team members to ensure smooth workflow and efficient processes.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries and pickups, acting as a representative of the company.
- Report any accidents, incidents, or vehicle issues promptly to the appropriate personnel.
- Perform basic maintenance tasks on the truck, such as checking oil levels and tire pressure and ensuring the vehicle is in good working condition.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, efficiency, and cost savings.
- Follow Health and Safety and Quality policies, processes, procedures, and instructions.
- May be assigned to do, fill, or help with another task as requested by the Logistics Manager if cross-trained.
Qualifications:
- Valid Class 5 Drivers license (will require a drivers abstract).
- Minimum three years of experience as a professional truck driver.
- Experience operating a 5-ton truck.
- Crane operation experience is required.
- A forklift ticket is an asset.

Operate and drive primarily log truck, long-combination vehicle and straight-body trucks weighing over 4500 kg to transport goods and materials over long distances
Plan trip logistics and obtain required documentation to transport goods
Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection of vehicle systems, equipment and accessories such as tires, lights and turning signals, brakes and cold storage
