Job Summary

As an Animal Health Technician for our Toxicology team in Senneville, you will be responsible for the well-being of our laboratory animals. Your contribution will ensure the health of our animals, as well as the integrity of our pre-clinical studies.

In this role, primary responsibilities include:

  • Administer test items / medications to animals (Gavage, intramuscular, subcutaneous and intravenous injections)
  • Perform sample collection (blood, urine, etc.)
  • Collect data (body weight, food consumption, clinical signs, etc.)
  • Handle animals for any activities that requires it
  • Clean all types of animal housing and accessories

Key Elements

We are looking for the following minimum qualifications for this role:

  • College Diploma in Animal Health or in Environmental and Wildlife management
  • Bachelor's degree in Biology or any related Animal Science discipline
  • Good observation skills
  • Being able to work physically (lift up to 20 kg, walk, stand, stoop, etc.)
  • Understanding of written English is mandatory. Bilingualism French & English is preferable

They will build a deep understanding of Boehringer Ingelheim's customers, partners, and shoppers to position Boehringer Ingelheim products as market leaders. + The Channel Expansion Manager will create, produce, and implement ecommerce/trade marketing materials and customer-specific toolkits in alignment with brand managers. **The Calgary Animal Referral and Emergency Centre CARE Centre** is welcoming a Veterinary Internal Medicine Tech Assistant to join our dedicated and dynamic pet healthcare team full-time.
The CARE Centre is a 24-hour emergency and referral specialty hospital. We are committed to supporting pet owners and the veterinary community by providing the highest level of emergency and referral care.
The primary role of the Internal Medicine Tech Assistant is to assist the AHTs and Internists with daily tasks and patient care.
+ Perform proper restraint techniques when assisting AHTs and DVMs to assess and treat patients.
+ Assist DVMs and AHT's while they collect samples, take radiographs and prepare for endoscopies.
+ Client communication includes daily updates on the patient's progress, financial updates, and patient discharge.
+ Provide physical and emotional support for patients.
+ Help to maintain the hospital treatment areas and ensure general cleanliness.
Our team members are passionate about pets and their people. The ideal candidate will be energetic, self-motivated, outgoing and possess strong organizational skills. The CARE Centre is a fast-paced environment, so the ability to multitask is essential. Strong interpersonal skills are essential to thrive in our highly team-based environment, as well as to deliver the exceptional client experience that the CARE Centre is renowned for. An interest in continual learning is supported with a continuing education allowance. Previous or equivalent veterinary experience in a clinic setting is required.
**Schedule:** 40 hours per week, 4 days a week, including possible on-call on weekends.
