In collaboration with the team, they will suggest and explain laboratory procedures and testing. They will also greet, handle, and treat animals in a way that contributes to an environment in which animals feel safe and secure. A Veterinary Assistant Certificate or relevant experience is required.

- Excellent customer service skills; a real aptitude for putting pets and pet parents at ease and creating a welcoming environment
- Ability to answer a multiline phone system and track and book appointments effectively
- Take initiative and work independently
- Scheduling appointments; Admitting and discharging pet patients
- Invoicing/billing; creating estimates and processing payments
- General housekeeping duties; cleanliness of reception area, pet holding areas, and common areas
- Ability to use a computer-based booking and records system (we will provide training on our specific system)
- Willingness to learn more regarding; veterinary services, updated medical office procedures, and assist the Veterinary staff with various tasks and treatments
- A Veterinary Assistant (VA) or Veterinary Assistant Office Administration (VAOA) program certificate is an asset
Schedules:
- We are open to part-time and full-time schedules
- All associates work a rotating schedule that includes some evenings and Saturday shifts, but no overnights, no Sundays or on-call options.
- The option for only evenings can be reviewed as well
