**Position Summary:**
The Package Handler's position is a physical fast-paced and labor-intensive role within a warehouse environment that involves sorting/stocking packages as well as loading and unloading them into and out of UPS package delivery vehicles and trailers.

**Workdays:** Sunday through Thursday
**Shift Start:** 12:30 PM - 5:30 PM Shift averages 3-5 hours a day, start times / finish times may vary with operational need. Flexibility required.

+ Load and unload packages into package delivery vehicles and trailers

+ Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. (32kg) without assistance
+ Full availability to work Sunday to Thursday (all five days of the week)
+ Must be able to work 25 hours per week legally

+ Comfortable working in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment
+ Comfortable working inside truck trailers and package delivery vehicles

- Inspect, triage, reset, and clean POS terminals.

Ideal Qualifications 
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in a supervisory role ideally in a unionized warehouse environment
  • A proven leader with strong written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Direct working knowledge of operations, warehouse management, and transportation management
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Experience with MS Office, radio frequency ID systems (RFID), bar code systems, and electronic data interchange (EDI) is an asset
  • Diploma, degree or post-secondary education or equivalent experience

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

Summary:

  • Package shipments securely on pallets, label and provide transportation documents, load trucks.
  • Receive and store all finished goods from final assembly or delivery carriers in a timely manner using the RF scanner system.
  • Ensure the accuracy of shipments; confirm the quantity and part number(s) are accurate.
  • Sort out material by POs and process QC orders.
  • Receive materials in the system and stamp paperwork with date and signature.
  • Assist Supervisor with highlighting, collecting, and filing paperwork.
  • Operate warehouse mobile equipment including forklifts.
  • Sort pallets and perform inventory checks.
  • Perform safety checks and preventive maintenance; update logs when machinery is used.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times while adhering to all health and safety policies/procedures.
  • Ensure work is performed in compliance with ISO 9001 quality standards and compliance procedures.
  • Perform any other related duties as required by the Supervisor.
Requirements and Skills:
  • Completion of a High School Diploma or Vocational Equivalent.
  • Three years’ of experience as a warehouse associate is an asset.
  • Forklift Safety Training Certificate required.
  • Comfortable working in a computer based work environment including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to lift up to 75Ibs frequently.
  • Work requires walking, sitting, standing, bending/crouching, reaching, climbing ladders.
  • Able to be detail oriented following precise instructions when processing orders.
  • Knowledgeable of all shipping/receiving procedures applicable in Canada, USA and Internationally.

Job Description

As a Warehouse Associate, you will be responsible for picking, packing, and shipping customer orders as well as counting, verifying, receiving, and putting away incoming vendor material and customer returns. A high attention to detail will ensure exceptional levels of customer service and satisfaction.

Additional duties will include:

  • Follow all Health and Safety rules and legislation while performing job functions
  • Load and unload trucks, operate forklift and other material handling equipment
  • Receiving duties include:
    • Upon unloading vendor shipments or customer returns, obtain the packing slip and verify material received. Note any discrepancies or damaged material
    • Print and verify the computer receiving documents and enter material received into the computer system
    • Identify special order material and damaged material and store in proper location
    • Note all shipping discrepancies on freight carrier’s Bill of Lading, initiate freight claims and forward paperwork to appropriate teammate
       
  • Picking, packing, and shipping duties include:
    • Pick material for customer orders, counting and comparing items to the shipping documentation
    • Assemble material and pack appropriately for pick up or shipment to customer
    • Complete documentation for any shipments being delivered via third party carrier or requiring Transportation of Dangerous Goods documentation
  • Inform the team of any inventory discrepancies and damaged/defective material that would impact customer service levels
  • Maintain warehouse cleanliness and safety by removing empty cartons, metal banding, pallets, and other debris
  • Inform Profit Centre Manager of any safety issues within the warehouse
  • Assist teammates in servicing customers at the counter
  • Perform other tasks as requested by the Profit Centre Manager
Qualifications

  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent; College and/or University degree an asset
  • A minimum of 1 year of warehouse experience
  • Outstanding customer service and verbal communication skills
  • Able to develop comprehensive product knowledge
  • Ability to learn to safely operate a forklift and any other material handling equipment
  • Possess a high level of attention to detail and accurately process orders
  • Able to learn and operate the applicable software system used to process orders
  • Intermediate math skills

Preferred Skills:

We are seeking a warehouse associate who can help our company manage all aspects of a warehouse operation for fulfillment. This is an important role that requires you to take charge of everything warehousing related. We are looking for a hard-working individual for long-term employment to grow with the company.

The ideal candidate has a combination of leadership skills, product knowledge, industry savvy and prior experience overseeing the daily workflow, budget, and schedules of the warehouse department.

Responsibilities: 

  • Pick and assemble orders on skids and product totes accurately and efficiently
  • Loading of company vehicles if required
  • Receiving deliveries and verifying quantities against purchase order and invoice
  • Restocking pick lines
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized warehouse
  • Load and unload products manually by hand and with material handling equipment (Pallet jack, Counterbalance forklift, power walkie)
  • Maintain and organize inventory with first-in first-out rotation
  • Operate bailer for recycling and garbage
  • Other warehouse duties as required

Requirements: 

  • Two years of proven warehouse work experience is preferred
  • Counterbalance forklift experience is preferred
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills and strong attention to detail
  • Solid ability to meet all deadlines, and follow instructions and SOPs in an organized and timely manner

We are looking for an amazing Warehouse Worker  to support our growing team and company long term.

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are looking for a HIGHLY organized, detail oriented individual to add to our Warehouse team.


Responsibilities:
 

  • Following standardized procedures and policies
  • Processing, packaging and shipping orders/ quantities as per order sheet specifications
  • Picking items as required with HIGH level of accuracy
  • Packing and wrapping picked items to ensure that they remain safe during the transit period, and affixing provided labels on them
  • Ensuring all packaging meets company guidelines
  • Ensuring the quality of product isn’t compromised when it leaves the warehouse and while it is being transported to place of delivery
  • Receiving products delivered in boxes and shipments from various couriers & vendors
  • Unboxing and ensuring counts, models/ versions/SKUs are exact matches to the invoice and packing slips.
  • Performing cleaning and maintenance work on assigned warehouse areas to ensure that they remain tidy, and functional at all times
  • Ensuring the timely and proper completion of warehouse processes as per guidelines

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE

  • Secondary/High School Diploma

PREFERRED PREREQUISITES:

Knowledge of Common warehouse procedures
Ability to operate a hand truck, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment
Highly comfortable/proficient on the computer & communication tools
Able to lift up to 50lbs and on occasion more than that
HIGH level of Attention to detail
HIGH level of Organization
Dependable Hardworking & Trustworthy
Able to work with little or no supervision

Criminal background check will be completed.


Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $18.50/hour
