Requirements
Creating comprehensive plans that outline waste reduction, recycling, and disposal strategies for project
Organizing the collection, transportation, and disposal of construction waste, ensuring compliance with regulations and minimizing environmental impact.
Staying up-to-date on environmental regulations related to waste management and ensuring that all activities adhere to these standards.
Implementing initiatives to minimize waste generation at the source, such as promoting the use of reusable materials and optimizing material usage.
Tracking waste generation, recycling rates, and disposal costs, preparing reports on waste management performance, and identifying areas for improvement.
Communicating with contractors, subcontractors, waste management companies, and regulatory bodies to ensure effective waste management throughout the project lifecycle.
Overseeing the work of waste management personnel, providing guidance and support, and ensuring efficient and effective operations.
Regularly reviewing waste management practices, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing changes to enhance efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
Strong communication skills and work ethic
Proficient in MS Office Suite, industry related softwares
Ability to work on-site for scheduled rotation, immediate availability is preferred.

Responsibilities:
Simultaneously collect solid waste and operate waste collection vehicles:
Collect solid waste from individual properties throughout the City:
Manually lift solid waste into the waste collection vehicle,
- Operate attached hydraulic lift for waste collection,
Adhere to the City of Woodstock's safe operating policies, procedures and wears all necessary PPE
Drive a single or two-person waste collection vehicle:
Follow a preset route, collecting solid waste at every property,
- Observe Highway Traffic Act and municipal by-law regulations,
Transport and empty truck as directed.
Perform other related duties such as:
Perform all daily inspections as regulated by the MTO,
- Maintain fuel levels before end of shift,
- Maintain the appearance of the assigned vehicle,
- Complete a daily timecard detailing hours worked, equipment used, mileage on the truck, and operators driving log,
- Report any damages or repairs required for assigned equipment,
- Report any contravention of any of the City of Woodstock's policies, procedures, and bylaws,
Perform all duties and responsibilities associated with Winter Operations
Maintain good relations with the public as comments are received on route
- Work with minimal supervision
- Perform other duties as assigned from time to time
Qualifications
- Grade 10 or equivalent and/or relevant experience will be considered
- Valid Class "DZ" Driver's License and good driving history
- Standard First Aid/CPR certification
- Experience operating a wide variety of heavy equipment is an asset
- Training with MTO Book 7 for Temporary Conditions, and proven knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and other applicable legislation is an asset

Reporting to the Manager of Environmental Services and Sustainability, the Environmental Services Worker maintains cleanliness in all hospital locations. A clean environment helps provide a positive experience for our patients and families and our employees, physicians, and volunteers. Activities include cleaning, mopping, and dusting all areas in the hospital. Job DescriptionReporting to the Manager of Environmental Services, you will be responsible for the efficient supervision of day-to-day operations in the Environmental Services Department.
- The successful incumbent will supervise the daily operations of Environmental Services including, cleaning & sanitation with working knowledge of all housekeeping procedures and practices
- Conduct regular inventory of housekeeping supplies, Check all equipment used by staff for proper supplies, neatness, cleanliness and mechanical problems
- Document call offs, and employee performance concerns
- Prepare and distribute assignment sheets to staff and review priorities.
- You will ensure that all work practices are in keeping with Hospital, Departmental, and legislated standards (e.g. PIDAC, Public Health, Workplace Safety and OH&S Act).
- You will be responsible for the labor management of staff, providing employee technical and non-technical training, coaching and development, recruitment, orientation, performance and attendance management, discipline, quality audits, job shadowing and workload assessment
- Work closely with the nursing units, clinical areas and other non-clinical areas/departments
- Participate in patient safety activities, infection control, risk management and quality improvement to meet hospital and healthcare standards
- Successful completion of the CHHA Environmental Management Level 1 and Level 2 preferred
- Membership or qualification to become a member of the CAEM and CHHA required
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working as a Supervisor in a unionized environment, preference will be given to those who have previous experience in a hospital setting
- Working knowledge of WHMIS required
- Housekeeping and related regulated infection control practices and processes and knowledge of PIDAC, RICN etc. preferred
- Professional Healthcare Housekeeper's Certificate (PHH) preferred
- Proven ability to manage supply/labor budgets to include labor relations and compliance within the local and central collective agreements of unionized staff.
- Monitoring performance and hospital policies within a healthcare environment.
- Excellent time management skills and proven initiative
- Must be self-directed with excellent organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage operations and staff, establishing and maintaining quality standards, infection control practices, outbreak prevention, linen utilization and the various streams of general, recycling, biomedical, hazardous and confidential waste handling etc.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills both one-on-one and in-group situations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position.
- Satisfactory employment and attendance record required

Hours: Monday to Sunday, days, 7.5 hour shifts ( Hours are subject to change based on operational needs)
Salary: $39.178 to $48.973 per hour
