THE ROLE As an Administrative Assistant Health Promotion, you will deliver the administrative services such as data entry, word processing, faxing, photocopying, correspondence, distribution and follow-up action, as well as organize meetings, advise attendees, draft and distribute agendas and minutes, schedule and arrange appointments, meetings, and travel schedules.
The Administrative Assistant, will ensure the collection of necessary documentation and arrange topic briefings in preparation for conferences, meetings, and appointments.
QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED Education, Certifications and Licenses
College diploma or certificate in Business Administration, Accounting, Office Administration or a related field AND some years experience in administration or in a related field

High School diploma AND several years experience in administration or in a related field

The purposes of this position are:
- The Manager of Health Promotion is responsible for leading and managing staff who coordinate health promotion programs and initiatives within the First Nation community. They will collaborate to develop, implement, and evaluate strategies that promote health, wellness, and community well-being.
Duties:
The duties and responsibilities of this position are categorized into three main functions:
- Administration:
- Responsible to the Director of Health and Family Services for the effective and efficient administration of health promotion programs.
- Develops with staff, applications for grant and funding programs.
- Monitors and reports to Director of Health on approved budgets for Health Promotion
- Approves accounts payable, prepares purchase orders, prepares payroll documents for Health Promotion staff and develops and maintains documentation for respective funding agencies and submits same to the Finance Manager and Administrative Services for processing.
- Maintains, with staff, inventories of supplies, equipment and materials at an adequate level; replaces when required within the First Nation’s purchasing policy.
- Manages and directs the employees of the Health Promotion programs consistent with the policies and administrative processes of the Curve Lake First Nation.
- Evaluates employee performance; recommends the employment, promotion, disciplining and termination of related staff.
- Monitors government policies and legislation and recommends policy positions on issues of import to the Curve Lake First Nation.
- Researches and prepares statistical, financial, policy, and other reports as required by the Director of Health and Family Services
- Ensures adherence to Occupational Health and Safety procedures.
- Program Development and Implementation:
- Oversee development and implement comprehensive health promotion programs and initiatives that align with the First Nation's goals and priorities.
- Conduct needs assessments, research, and data analysis to identify community health needs and develop evidence-based strategies.
- Lead staff in their collaboration with community members, leaders, and organization to design culturally appropriate health promotion interventions.
- Ensure the integration of traditional knowledge and practices into health promotion activities.
- Community Engagement and Collaboration:
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with community members, elders, health professionals, and external organizations with staff.
- Facilitate community consultations and engagement processes to gather input and ensure programs meet community needs.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to leverage resources, share best practices, and enhance program effectiveness.
- Represent the First Nation at relevant meetings, conferences, and events related to health promotion.
- Program Management and Evaluation:
- Develop program budgets, timelines, and work plans to ensure effective implementation and resource allocation.
- Monitor program activities. Ensure staff evaluate outcomes and prepare reports to assess program effectiveness and impact.
- Apply evaluation findings to refine programs, identify areas for improvement, and enhance program sustainability.
- Maintain accurate records, documentation, and data related to program implementation and evaluation.
- Report evaluative findings to Health Director for communication to community.
- Supervision and Team Leadership:
- Provide leadership, guidance, and supervision to a team of health promotion coordinators and support staff.
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages professional growth, teamwork, and cultural sensitivity.
- Conduct performance evaluations, identify training needs, and provide professional development opportunities for staff.
- Promote a culture of inclusivity, respect, and collaboration within the health promotion team.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
The incumbent to this position will meet the minimum requirements that include:
- Degree or diploma in health promotion, public health, community health, or a related field. Management experience 2-3 years.
- In-depth knowledge of health promotion theories, models, and evidence-based practices.
- Strong understanding of social determinants of health and their impact on First Nation communities.
- Knowledge of culturally sensitive and relevant health promotion materials and resources.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and frameworks related to Indigenous health.

About the Role:
The Northern Alberta YMCA is looking for a Wellness Coach to deliver high quality customer service in the Fitness Centre area. The Wellness Coach will provide active supervision of the Fitness Centre and its patrons, deliver Y Thrive coaching appointments, perform regular cleaning duties and equipment maintenance and role model customer service excellence at all times.
Responsibilities:

- Perform Fitness Centre Orientations as required, Y Thrive coaching appointments, and check-ins, answer member questions and provide accurate information.
- Always offer high quality customer service when working with members, engage with members, develop positive relationships and offer support. Work with them to help them reach their fitness goals.
- Build and maintain a positive relationship with volunteers and colleagues at all levels of the organization.
- Support the branch by acting as Duty Manager when required.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in a related field (physical education, personal training or exercise science) is considered an asset
- Certified Personal Trainer (YMCA Personal Trainer ,CSEP – CPT, CanFitPro Personal Training Specialist, ISSA Personal Trainer) is considered an asset
- Previous experience in a customer service role is preferred
- Standard First Aid and CPR Level C is required
- Able to obtain a Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector check

The Chimo Youth Retreat Centre has been supporting children, youth and families involved with Childrens Services for over 50 years.
Job description
The Chimo Family Wellness program is delivered in partnership between Chimo Youth Retreat and the Edmonton Region Child and Family Services. Using the Collaborative Service Delivery (CSD) model, the program provides a continuum of services to improve the outcomes for children, youth and families in Sherwood Park, Leduc and Fort Saskatchewan. The Family Wellness Coach builds and maintains safe, positive relationships with families, works cooperatively as part of the CSD team, works directly in the homes of families with CFS involvement, and completes all required administration functions.
The Family Wellness Coach will be responsible for providing the following services:
- In vivo family/parent support
- Second-line family stabilization, intervention, preservation
- Providing transportation for clients and supportive access through family time
- Therapeutic youth work including cultural programming and connection to their heritage
- Low ratio crisis intervention services
- All other duties as required to support a family to thrive and achieve healthy lifestyle
- Build positive relationships and work collaboratively with families, CFS staff and other stakeholders.
- Maintain effective cross-functional relationships with staff, colleagues, and partners.
- Work effectively with all Chimo Family Wellness staff and leadership.
- Coordination of additional services to support great outcomes for families.
- Advocacy for the child, youth and family services that ultimately support the reunification, unity or permanency of the family.
- Possess knowledge of community resources that support families.

- You may be required to work day and evening shifts for your five-day rotation (Sunday through Thursday or Tuesday through Saturday). Flexibility is important when planning shifts with the families and caregivers, as well as to support your team.
- The work can be physically and mentally demanding, and requires the ability to carry car seats, lift children in/out of cars and car seats, etc.
- You must be able and prepared to physically interact with children in both indoor and outdoor settings.
- Outdoor engagements with children and families may occur in all seasons, with appropriate measures taken based on current weather conditions.

- Strong facilitation, organizational and time management skills.
- Understanding of life span developmental theories, Foundations of Caregiver Support, Signs of Safety, Appreciative Inquiry, Peacemaking Circles, Trauma Informed/Resiliency Focused Practices and Lifelong Connections.
Education and Credentials;
- Degree in the Human Services field (Child & Youth Care, Social Work, Early Childhood Development, etc.) is preferred but those with a post-secondary 2 year diploma and experience will be considered.
- Minimum of two years of experience in a front-line role within Human Services.
Employment Requirements:
- A valid Class 5 drivers license
- Proven experience as a Driver (minimum 3 years history)
- 2 doses of COVID-19 vaccination
- Have the ability to provide current auto insurance with $2 million liability and use for work coverage with no at-fault accidents in the past 3 years
- Eligibility for fleet insurance approval (driver's abstract must not have more than 2 convictions).

About the Role:
Our Wellness Coach supports the delivery of high-quality customer service in our Fitness Centres. They provide active supervision of the Fitness Centre and its patrons to guarantee a positive experience for those in the Centre.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise activities in the Fitness Centre to ensure all members have a safe and enjoyable workout; monitor member behavior in accordance with the Health & Safety Policies
- Conduct Fitness Centre orientation to new members
- Perform regular cleaning of fitness equipment and complete minor equipment maintenance as required.
- Consistently offer high quality customer service when working with members to offer support, answer questions and provide guidance
- Work with members to help them reach their fitness goals while ensuring adherence to safe practices.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 18 years old
- Friendly, energetic, positive attitude combined with a love of fitness
- Consistent availability to work a minimum 2-hour shift each week; evening and weekend availability preferred
- Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification
- Ability to obtain a Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector check
- Previous experience in a customer service role preferred
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem solving and multitasking skills
