Specification Writing Apprentice
The Specification Writing Apprentice Program is a 12-month program to gain knowledge and observable performance of products and applications that will enable you to provide solutions for creating door hardware specifications. The program allows you to learn about and work with customers such as Architects, Electrical Engineers, and Security Consultants by providing professional consultation and specification services. You will gain knowledge of Allegion products and solutions by participating in a robust training and development program that differentiates us within the industry. The program's functional experience, project assignments and training curriculum are highly visible to our senior leaders. Program graduates join our commercial sales organization as a Specification Writer, working with architects and developers. Successful candidates completing the 12 month program, will lead to full-time employment as a Specification Writer at Allegion Canada.
**What You Will Do:**
+ Follow and complete the Specification Writer Apprentice Program (SWAP) to increase knowledge about Allegion customers, door and door hardware products, and specification and sales processes.
+ Attend all required internal training and additional external product training to obtain a further understanding of codes, applications, and products.
+ Learn organizational structure and build relationships with co-workers throughout the organization.
+ Obtain an understanding of the door and hardware industry, customers, and build relationships with decision makers.
+ Learn how to utilize Allegion tools/resources (for example: Overtur, Dynamics CRM) to gather and maintain information on projects.
+ Maintain awareness of all Allegion policies, guidelines, and procedures and ensure compliance.
**What You Will Need:**
+ A College diploma in Advanced Architectural Technology, Architectural Technology, Construction Engineering Technology Bachelor of Technology (Construction Management) ( is preferred.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills, influencing skills essential along with a bias for action
+ Bilingual (French/English) proficiency (written, spoken) is an asset.
+ Ability to travel 10-25% (Domestical/International (USA))
+ Ability to learn industry specific software
+ Detail oriented with a high level of organization and time management skills

This position is perfect for anyone who loves working with students, enjoys teaching the ins and outs of language, and is passionate about helping others build their skills in this area.
Teacher-Tutors at Oxford Learning do not have to lesson plan before class, as all lessons are pre-planned. Applicants will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods.
Position Requirements
All Teacher-Tutors at Oxford Learning work during after-school and evening hours (3:30pm - 7:00pm) as well as some Saturdays (9:00am - 3:00pm). A commitment until the end of the school year is preferred. Continuing through the summer is even better. Your students will love working with you, and being reliable is a must.
This role is in-person. You must be able to commute to this location. This is not an online position. Relocation packages are not available. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.
