**In this role, you will**
+ Coordinate with software engineers, architects, and product managers to evolve AVEVA's internal developer platforms supporting critical enterprise programs.
+ Build and operate resilient cloud infrastructure using Service Fabric, Azure, and Kubernetes (K8s).
+ Lead all aspects of the design and automation of CI/CD pipelines that support build, test, and deployment processes across cloud and on-prem environments.
+ Develop scripts and tooling to manage infrastructure, support continuous integration, and reduce deployment-related downtime.
+ Create and support dev/test environments that are consistently provisioned and ready for each release cycle.
+ Identify and resolve issues in the build, release, and deployment pipeline, with a focus on automation and root cause analysis.
+ Author and maintain operational documentation, scripts, tracers, monitors, and self-healing tools to improve platform reliability.
+ Detail operational procedures and contribute to playbooks and runbooks to support scalable growth while nurturing automation-first thinking
+ Support production, staging, QA, and development environments, ensuring consistent performance, availability, and efficiency.
+ Help integrate new technologies into existing platforms to improve developer experience and operational scalability.
**What** **you'll** **need to succeed (required** **skills)**
+ Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
+ A proven track record of 10 or more years in a DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Operations role with strong experience using Azure CLI.
+ Expert in supporting applications on Kubernetes, Azure, and/or Service Fabric.
+ Proficiency with infrastructure automation and tools for monitoring, configuration, and deployment.
+ Outstanding ability to write and maintain scripts using PowerShell, Bash, or Python for managing cloud applications and environments.
+ Top-tier experience with CI/CD systems and source control tools.
+ A dedication for automation, operational perfection, and improving developer workflows

+ Proficiency in software development C# experience is an added bonus.
+ Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly explain technical topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.

We are looking for an experienced Cloud DevOps Engineer for our client. This is a permanent position that is remote to start with later relocation to Calgary or Winnipeg . Our client is a global enterprise company with a product that you've likely used.
This position requires the ability to code as well as perform the duties of a DevOps Engineer. Previous experience as a Software Engineer/Developer will be regarded highly.
You Have:
- 4+ years’ experience working as a DevOps Engineer
- 2+ years' experience coding/building applications as a Software Engineer
Experience with Public API solutions, such as AWS API Gateway, and WAF solutions, such as Incapsula
- Experience with AWS SNS/SQS, RabbitMQ, Kinesis, Kafka or Pusher
- Extensive experience working wit AWS cloud platform
- Great communication skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts with ease

**Job Title:** Cloud Software Developer in Test
**Location:** Calgary, Canada - Hybrid
**Employment Type:** full-time
**In this role you will:**
+ Define, design, and complete basic to moderately complex test cases and scenarios.
+ Define test automation for solutions under test.
+ Create, maintain, and execute test automation code.
+ Create, execute, and analyze results for load and performance test suites.
+ Create test programs and utilities.
+ Work with the global CDO teams and provide subject matter expertise in quality measures and contribute to operational stability, security, cost management and reporting requirements for our cloud solutions.
+ Continually develop and improve DevOps processes, adding value through optimization, automation, and effective reporting.
+ Proactively review and manage incidents and incident reports for preventative measures.
+ Lead Root Cause Analysis sessions and own the improvement action items.
+ Ensure on-going compliance with practices and policies.
**Required Qualifications**
+ Contribute to the identification of technical and procedural areas of concern to avoid gaps and problems in achieving project and/or team objectives.
+ Collaborate with the global team as needed to resolve problems and identify root causes of incidents and issues.
+ Create and prepare test designs for future phases or sprints in a project.
+ Partner with colleagues for software testing and defect resolution activities by validating tests and their outcomes.
+ Partner with Software Development Engineers to perform software coding and to resolve identified problems.
+ May assist in providing training to CDO Engineers in automated testing skills.
+ Provide feedback and suggestions for process improvement at the conclusion of a project sprint.
+ Comply with AVEVA development standards and technical engineering processes.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Computer Science, or Computer Engineering degree.
+ Prior cloud infrastructure and testing experience.
+ Experience successfully implementing software applications in an organization.
+ Experience developing, modifying and executing test plans.
+ Experience with API test automation.
+ Experience with test automation tools such Visual Studio framework, C#, PowerShell, Python.
+ Experience working in an Agile or SCRUM team environment.

The Team / Client
You will be part of a engineering department responsible for diving the global commercial availability. This is a technical, multi-cloud environment, seeing thousands of changes a week.
The team focuses on empowering engineering teams to manage their cloud cost footprint, as well as building and implementing solutions to help drive cost efficiencies, all without impacting team autonomy or speed of delivery.
The Opportunity
This role is focused on helping our client optimize cost, using automation of tooling and data to create cost awareness and visibility within teams - without risking reliability or customer experience. As such, they are looking to hire an experienced senior engineer to help anchor and grow the team, whilst being hands-on in a multi-faceted delivery environment.
The majority of their spend is currently in AWS, the balance in GCP. In many ways, they are still in the early stages of their FinOps journey, with loads of opportunities to reduce waste and increase cost efficiencies, helping to keep our people and money focused on delighting our customers.
What will you need?
Detailed knowledge of, and experience with, a wide range of AWS services
Hands-on experience with automation, infrastructure-as-code, and CI / CD
To be comfortable in a multi-team environment, and familiar with pull-request workflows & etiquette
Be a self-starter, whether that’s coming up with new ideas, developing organizational and technical knowledge, or improving existing processes and solutions
Be experienced in automation scripting (ideally Python but we’re open to other experience too)
Added benefit if you have:
Hands-on experience with test automation
Implemented cost-savings solutions before
Hands-on experience with building software in languages such as C# or Java
Previously held a role requiring hands-on technical leadership
Key responsibilities:
Building solutions to help drive cost efficiency
Building, and contributing to, automated tooling to manage waste
Making teams aware of potential cost-savings actions via monitoring and alerting
Contributing to the development of their FinOps roadmap and product backlog, and comfortable with solution design and architecture
Enhancing the use of their cost management tools e.g. dashboard enhancements, API integration
Identify and remediate billing anomalies
Assessing new-vs-current tools & tech for cost saving purposes
Advising teams on where and how to be cost efficient, as well as making it easier for them to adopt improvements
