We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our team, responsible for installing tooling on numerically controlled equipment to machine parts with precision. **Work Environment**
The work environment is a spacious 80,000 Sqft shop, very clean, with machines located around the shop. It includes 3 paint booths, an enclosed welding shop, a lunch room, and a training room, all bright and environmentally conscious. The team consists of 12-30 machinists, with the afternoon shift being ideal. Work hours are Monday-Thursday from 2pm to 12am, with flexible scheduling based on partner collaboration. Training is conducted during the day.
**Responsibilities**
Install tooling on numerically controlled equipment to machine parts with precision.

Maintain accurate and timely transactions in the ERP system.

**Essential Skills**
1-3 years of related experience as a CNC machinist.

Ability to follow blueprints and tooling sheets.
Proficiency in making minor adjustments to programs.
Experience in CNC setup, machining, and inspection.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
Completion of schooling is ideal.
Experience in Milling or Turning.
Openness to occasional overtime.
Forklift experience is a plus, with training available.

Role Essentials:

· Responsible for setup and operation of large CNC Boring Mills, CNC Lathes, CNC Machining Centers

· Machine product (up to 30 tons) to specified requirements as defined on Job Travelers, Drawings, and Sketches. Must be able to read blueprints and various symbols regarding tolerances, surface finishes, etc.

· Pre-inspection of parts to ensure product compliance is achievable prior to metal removal process.

· Verify tooling requirements are met in advanced of the commencement of each job. Escalate any issues/concerns to supervisor.

· Machine product at optimal conditions to maintain cost effectiveness of machining process.

· Ability to read and understand programs to a degree that will allow you to modify / edit programs.

· Maintain tooling in peak conditions.

· Verify dimensions of parts machined using precision measuring instruments as required.

· Practice excellent general housekeeping, including but not limited to, his/her work area, chip removal, floor areas, benches, storage areas to ensure a safe work environment.

· Perform daily machine checks per preventative maintenance program and safety procedures.

· Maintains measuring instruments in proper working condition by regular cleaning and calibration. Stores instruments in safe location both during use and after completion.

· Maintains equipment in safe and production condition, including but not limited to, regular routine lubrication, cleaning, maintaining coolant levels.

· Use of overhead crane to setup and move parts.

· Follow New Era’s established safety practices and regulation. Reports any unsafe conditions or practices to management.

Minimum Qualifications:

· At least 5 years’ experience in CNC "CUSTOM - ONE OFF" machining experience, consisting(KV1) of machine setup & Operation of CNC Boring Mills (Horizontal), CNC Vertical Lathes and CNC Horizontal Lathes

· Post-secondary diploma or equivalent education an asset.

· General machinist certification an asset.

· Challenged daily in working with large complex & fabricated components, where material variation and conditions require an analytical approach to machining of product.

· Ability to read & interpret blueprints, drawings, charts & tables.

· Motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

· Strong analytical skills and keen attention to detail.

· Previous experience with large machine tools (Mecof, Toshiba, Correa, Giana, Alessi Monti)

· Previous experience and Knowledge of Fanuc, Heidenhain, and Siemens controls a definite asset.

· Willing to work overtime and be on call for after hour work.

· Previous experience working with overhead cranes.

· English or French written and spoken.

  • Machinist Trade Certification, 4th year Apprentice or Machinist Red Seal Endorsement.
  • Minimum of 10-years of CNC experience with HAAS/Fanuc milling and lathe machines (G-code).

Skills

  • Ability to machine objects with tight machining tolerances and to properly use quality testing/inspection tools.
  • Ability to modify and read CAD drawings, set up and adjust production machines & tools, and maintain inspection reports.
  • General shop maintenance and organization.
  • Strong attention to detail, authenticity, and a sense of responsibility in all tasks
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving mindset

Waycon is actively seeking a skilled and motivated CNC Machinist to join their dynamic team. Key Responsibilities:

Requirements
  • Red Seal Machinist certification;
  • Proven experience in CNC machining, including setup and operation of various machines. Lathes, Mills & Horizontal Boring Machines;

  • Distinct advantage, experience with prototype machining and short production runs;
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;

Positions and Shifts:

Multiple Positions on Afternoon Shift: Monday through Thursday, 4:30 pm to 2:00 am and Friday, 3:15 pm to 7:15 pm

Responsibilities:

The responsibilities for the rewarding position of CNC Lathe Hand at Ben Machine Products will include the following:

  • Set-up and operate 3 and 4-axis CNC vertical milling machines.
  • Use appropriate tools, fixtures and indicators to set up the machine.
  • Load, unload, change and modify programs as required.
  • Change and set cutting tools.
  • Modify and grind tools as required.
  • Adjust feeds and speeds for maximum efficiency.
  • Operate the machine with all safety precautions in place.
  • Deburr and prepare parts for loading and after unloading.
  • Measure and inspect parts to ensure dimensions are within tolerance.
  • Read and interpret blue prints.
  • Understand geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Experience:

We are looking for candidates with the following minimum experience:

  • 3+ years' experience required for junior positions.
  • 10+ years' experience required for senior positions.
  • Certificate of qualification, college degree or other training in CNC machining an asset.
  • Fanuc or Haas experience a must.
  • Familiarity with Mastercam preferred.
  • Previous aerospace experience preferred.
  • Previous jobbing shop experience preferred.

We are currently looking for a CNC Set-up Machinist for a client located in Concord, ON.

Responsible for the set up of multiple machining centers by assisting in the assembly and delivery of tooling to aid in efficient machine operation. Position may also assist with machine operation with instruction and supervision.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the assembly and delivery of tooling to aid in efficient machine operation.

  • Working in a team environment, assisting with setup/operation duties on rush jobs to promote their effective completion.

  • Maintain a clean, effective and safe work.

  • Working knowledge of the fixturing system utilized in the machining department.

  • Assist in performing all required geometry checks at designated intervals.

  • Perform setups on multiple machines throughout all departments.

  • Assist with machine operation (possibly multiple machines if required) with supervision and instruction.

  • Manipulate CAM files to determine the setup details to facilitate independent progress on the setup.

  • Demonstrate the ability to notice abnormal conditions in setups and request clarification from a more senior Setup Machinist.

  • Must be prepared to work on various shifts with supervision.

Experience & Education:

  • Completion of Grade 12 diploma an asset or equivalent experience.

  • College diploma / University degree in a technical field, or equivalent experience.

  • Previous experience as a setup machinist trainee is an asset.

  • Some exposure and knowledge of CAM software.

  • Basic understanding of the theory and practical application of machining and machining-related procedures.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively solve problems.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
