**POSITION SUMMARY:**
MasTec Canada is looking to hire a Quality Control Inspector from Bonnyville and surrounding areas. ***An anticipated start date to be in the first weeks of July 2025. Preference will be given to those candidates living in and around Bonnyville and area.***
The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for inspecting finished products, products being processed, incoming materials, parts, assemblies, and the corresponding documentation for evidencing conformance to company, customer, and government requirements**.**
**ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:**
* Perform and document inspections and testing for piping/pipelines fabrication/construction to assure compliance with contract documents, codes, standards, regulations, clients’ specifications, and applicable Mastec Canada Quality Manuals.
* Create or revise the ‘Inspection & Test Plan(s)’ for the project and obtain client approval as applicable.
* Ensure compliance with the approved ITPs through:
o Qualification of welders
o Materials verification
o Materials mapping and traceability
o Weld mapping
o NDE logging (confirm clearance before pressure testing)
o Verifying compliance with welding parameters
o Preparation and witnessing of test packages (hydrotesting/pneumatic testing)
o Walkdowns
o Preparation of turnover packages, as required
o Preparation of work packages for Shutdowns and Outages and signoff accordingly
* Train staff and subcontractors on quality requirements
* Review codes requirements and ensure compliance through the implementation of the Mastec Canada Quality Management system
* Inspect and document the receiving condition of materials and equipment for deficiencies
* Inspect and document the site storage conditions to confirm compliance with requirements
* Report and follow-up on non-conforming work and conditions
* Ensure work conforms to project quality plans and specifications

**EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:**

Duties and Responsibilities
- Protecting their own and others health and safety at or in the vicinity of the work site.

- Identify tools requiring calibration and perform calibration of measurement tools.
- Maintain emails, perform photocopying and printing.
- Responsible to identify needs for consumables.
Required Abilities, Knowledge, Experience
- Demonstrate understanding of parts drawings and GD&T.
- 2+ Years in a similar role.
- 2+ Years experience in a machining or assembly shop environment.
- Demonstrate experience using a variety of hand inspection tools.
- Experience with specialized measuring instruments preferred, such as:
- Surface Finish Gauge,
- Wall Thickness Gauge.
- CMM is preferred.
- Able to demonstrate basic computer skills (MS Office).

The Quality Control Auditor reports to the Quality Control Lead.
The Quality Control Auditor ensures that quality assurance is in accordance with expectations set out in the Quality Manual, Quality Procedures and Work Instructions and is equal to the requirements in the customer order or customer contract or the ISO9001:2015 & AS9100:D Standards. The Quality Control Auditor provides leadership in quality issues.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Performs on Machine quality auditing for first off inspections.
- CMM operation proficiency is mandatory.
- CMM beginner programming experience is a must: Calypso
- Master proficiency reading blueprints, mechanical drawings, GD&T specifications and measuring features & characteristics in physical components to verify & validate its conformance by using metrology instruments (durometers, bore/profile/high/roughness, angle/radius gauges, micrometers, dial indicators, Gage maker, mic track, optical-laser scanning probing arms, etc.).
- Proficient in both measuring units systems: Imperial & International System of Units (SI).
- Master proficiency measuring element by element API Tubing & Casing (T&C) and Rotary Shouldered Connections (RSC) threads.
- Verifies & validates processes and product conformance via Inspection Receiving, First Offs, Final Inspection, Process & Dock audits, testing.
- Identifies and records non-conformances and participates with the multidisciplinary team to identify Root Cause, Corrective & Preventive Actions.
- Submits recommended solutions to Quality problems and Manufacturing issues.
- Verifies correction of nonconforming items. Controls further processing of nonconforming items until the deficiency or unsatisfactory conditions have been resolved.
- Ensures that personnel understand inspection procedures and are fully qualified to perform these inspections.
- Prepares inspection records required in advance so that inspections can be processed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Ensures that personnel carry out inspections and testing according to stated procedures.
- Collects, inspects, and maintains all quality records & statistical data for accuracy.
- Maintains inspection/test equipment and ensures that it is accurate and calibrated to stated procedures.
- Ensures corporate assets and property are actively protected and safeguarded and liabilities and errors are minimized.

* Build turnover packages and build system turnover walkdown packages
* Lead system turnover walks, document punches and confirm completion of system
* Create RFIs and NCRs as required
* Complete red lines in a timely manner
* Build walkdown packages for inspections
* Train staff and subcontractors on quality requirements
* Review codes requirements and ensure compliance through the implementation of the Mastec Canada Quality Management system
* Inspect and document the receiving condition of materials and equipment for deficiencies
* Inspect and document the site storage conditions to confirm compliance with requirements
* Report and follow-up on non-conforming work and conditions
* Ensure work conforms to project quality plans and specifications.
* Actively interface with other onsite trades on regular basis

**EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:**
* Certification in Red Seal Journeyman Electrician
* 5 years of relevant experience
* Previous experience with heat trace inspection is required
* Experience inspecting MV termination and VLF testing is an asset

The Electrical Quality Control Inspector is located in Pickering and typically reports directly to the QC Manager. The quality control inspector is responsible for performing daily inspections and test activities for receipt, processing, and final inspections and tests as instructed by the QC Manager. The Electrical QC Inspector is accountable for documenting all inspection and test activities in accordance with the various QA programs of Black and McDonald PGR. The Electrical QC Inspector is responsible for working with other groups during the implementation of the Quality Program activities. The Electrical QC Inspector shall ensure the highest degree of employee and plant safety, as well as quality standards, are met.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform work activities in a safe manner and in compliance with Black and McDonald Safety Program and those of our customers
- Perform receipt, in process and final inspection and test activities including maintaining accurate inspection and test status of items
- Perform special process monitoring activities
- Ensuring correctness of Work Sign-off activities as related to inspection and test activities
- Aid with the implementation of the Quality Management System and Programs within PGR
- Preparation or review of Inspection and Test Plan(s)
- Coordination for Project QC activities, including interfaces with client or outside organizations (subcontractors)
- Accurate and timely verification of inspections and tests shown in the Inspection and Tests plans or as otherwise assigned by the QA Manager
- Documentation of the results of the inspections and tests as required
- Ensure proper use and safe handling of measurement and test equipment, including recording where used
- Identify and control nonconforming items according to Black & McDonald Procedures

- Minimum of 2 years of college education or University degree in a technical-related discipline
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 10 years of construction trades experience and:
- Minimum 5 years QA/QC experience, including experience in non-conformance control, corrective action process and inspection and test plan generation
SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

- Good oral and written communication skills in English
- Computer Literacy: MS Office, Outlook, and Excel
- OPG Security Clearance requirements
