Qualifications and Experience

- Proficiency in a broad range of data analytics tools such as Excel, Python, Power BI, HANA, and SSMS.

- High level of competency in SQL, VBA, Power Query, DAX, Python

- Experience with ERP systems like SAP, Vista Viewpoint, and QAD is a strong plus.

- Strong attention to detail, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a proven track record in a consulting environment.

- Ability to demonstrate skills highly preferred.

As a Business Intelligence Analyst you are responsible for interacting with all levels of the organization and serve a key role within the organization to leverage analytics services to meet business needs and objectives. More specifically, the scope of your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and maintain business intelligence dashboards, reports, and visualizations to support decision-making processes.
  • Extract, clean, and analyze data from various sources to identify trends and patterns and generate actionable insights and recommendations to inform business strategies.
  • Design, transform, and prepare data for reporting, ensuring the data is accurate, and tailored to support business intelligence needs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an agile environment to define reporting requirements, ensuring alignment with business goals and driving continuous process improvements.
  • Assist with data quality checks and validation during development and UAT.
  • Ensure consistency in KPIs, metrics, and business logic across all reporting assets.
  • Maintain documentation of data definitions, logic, and reporting assets in a central repository.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize existing reporting processes, reduce report duplication, and retire legacy solutions.
  • Stay updated on the latest BI tools and trends, proposing innovative solutions to improve data visualization and reporting capabilities.

Requirements

Key Education & Skills:

  • Post-secondary education in computer technology or IT related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • 3+ years’ hands-on experience in a Business Intelligence development role. Hands-on design and development experience using Power BI and SQL is mandatory
  • Databricks, dbt, and SSRS familiarity is an asset.
  • Data modelling, data governance, and report migration experience is desirable.

**ABOUT THE ROLE:**
We are looking for a Senior Developer - Data and Analytics to join our team and support our newly implemented Datasphere (formerly Data Warehouse Cloud) platform. This role will be tasked with developing and maintaining data models, ETL configurations, and other data assets in Datasphere. This role will interact with teams from various departments throughout North America. Datasphere is our main data warehousing platform. SAP Analytics Cloud is our visualization front-end that is integrated with Datasphere.

+ Provide end-to-end expertise in Datasphere to support the delivery of business requirements in SAP Analytics Cloud (visualization front-end) and other reporting platforms, in North America, that will connect to Datasphere
+ Serve as the SME for the Datasphere platform to proactively identify potential issues, solutions, and improvements to keep business processes running as smoothly and seamlessly as possible
+ Gain an in-depth understanding of data sources feeding into Datasphere (SAP ERPs and other systems) to decide on the appropriate joins and relationships and create data models, based on these data sources to meet business requirements (primarily in the SAP Analytics Cloud visualization tool).
+ Proactively suggest improvements to existing data models and transformations already developed in Datasphere
+ Ensure that all data assets developed in Datasphere are developed with performance, scalability, and accuracy in mind (handling millions/billions of records across various source tables).

+ Strong knowledge of BI, Data Warehousing, and related best practices, including knowledge of: SQL, Python, ETL/ELT, scripting, and other coding languages commonly used by BI/Data professionals.

+ Understanding of data governance, data privacy, legal, and other principles surrounding data.
