As part of its continued growth, the Fengate Infrastructure team is seeking a Financial Analyst who will be responsible for maintaining up to date financial records, handling day to day matters and reporting for Fengate’s Infrastructure projects. This role will have the opportunity to interact closely with the project directors, infrastructure FP&A team, finance funds team, and accounts payable.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter and genuinely curious; that enjoys working in a fast-paced environment; has the ability to multi-task and efficiently prioritize and work under timelines. The individual is detail and process oriented with a high sense of ownership in their work; and has a foundation in accounting and reporting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage a portfolio of routine Public-Private Partnership (P3) and power projects, ensuring accurate and timely financial management. This includes:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations
- Monthly Invoicing: Prepare and issue monthly invoices to clients, ensuring all billable items are accurately captured and invoiced in a timely manner.
- Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for each project, including tracking expenses, revenues, and other financial transactions.
- Quarterly Financials: Prepare and review quarterly financial statements for each project, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and providing detailed reporting to stakeholders.
- Compliance and Reporting: Ensure all financial activities comply with relevant regulations and reporting requirements. This includes preparing necessary documentation for audits and reviews, as well as liaising with the tax team and advisors to oversee tax filings and ensure compliance with tax authorities.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project teams and other stakeholders to ensure the financial health and success of each project.
Requirements
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
- Undergraduate degree completed in accounting or finance is required.
- Further education and/or working towards accreditations, enrollment in CPA program is an asset.
- Experience using Quickbooks and/or Netsuite is an asset.
- Knowledge of ASPE or other generally accepted accounting principles is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft products, specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

SummaryThe Financial Analyst - Accounting is primarily responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting for one of the various divisions at CSN. This role includes full cycle bookkeeping, as well as period-end activities such as accruals, reconciliations and financial reporting. The Financial Analyst may also be actively involved in integrating operating locations into the Dynamics ERP system. This role requires up to 3 days in-office, split between the operating location(s) and the head office in Oakville.
Primary Objectives of the Role
- Manage monthly / quarterly / year end closing processes, including recording of all accruals, review of GL and preparation of the financial package for the assigned division
- Prepare monthly reporting packages for the Executive Team with the Finance Manager’s support
- Process billing, AP / AR, insurance rebates and central payments
- Closing repair orders for the operating sites
- Preparing reconciliations and accruals for the assigned division
- Provide support to external audits
- Assist junior team members in resolving common challenges
- Update internal policies and procedures as required
- Support both the Finance Manager and Director with key initiatives
- Other projects and responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
- Completion of a university degree in accounting or business
- Knowledge of the full accounting cycle
- Knowledge of Body Shop Connect, QuickBooks and Dynamics Business Central systems is an asset
- Accounting designation (CPA) completed or near completion is an asset
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience
- Commitment to continued education/training in leadership, finance, and accounting
- Bilingual in English and French is an asset
- This is a hybrid role based out of our corporate office in Oakville, an open-concept space that supports our operational sites. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Finance, Infrastructure Funds, the Financial Analyst will support fund operations, investor and internal reporting, financial analysis, tax, treasury and liquidity management, and compliance and of Fengate’s Infrastructure Funds. With that said, as required by local law, Vaco by Highspring believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure.
