**Summary**
The Logistics Coordinator I is responsible for maintaining and balancing the inbound/ outbound process of the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to insure daily production needs are met, providing timely communications to other departments and leadership personnel, and supporting all other warehouse operation functions and personnel as assigned.

The opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists in our Supply Chain department within the Metals division for a Coordinator, Logistics located in Fort Saskatchewan. The purpose of this position is to organize, expedite and report the international and domestic shipments of Sherritt’s input materials and products, including legal and customs formalities in all jurisdictions where the company operates.

In this role, you will be accountable for:

  • Coordinating import and export trucking and ocean freight shipments to and from overseas distribution warehouses.
  • Auditing freight invoices for export ocean freight, intermodal rail outbound, freight forwarders, overseas distribution warehouses, airfreight, trucking, and courier services.
  • Ensuring that shipments do not transit via United States seaports, rail terminals, or airports in compliance with the U.S. embargo.
  • Maintaining accurate data to forecast upcoming transportation requirements, ensuring timely and cost-effective service delivery.
  • Completing Canadian Export Reporting System (CERS) submissions for all finished products and by-products.
  • Obtaining steamship line bookings in accordance with Marketing contracts.
  • Meeting ad hoc information requests to support effective relationships with key stakeholders, including Moa JV partners, suppliers, commercial entities, government agencies, and customers.
  • Producing daily reports and escalating issues or emerging trends of concern.
  • Providing accurate and updated information to internal stakeholders and external customers regarding the status of import and export shipments.
  • Uploading and maintaining vessel schedules on an ongoing basis.
  • Managing courier waybills for the export of original bills of lading and certificates of origin to end customers.
  • Identifying alternative solutions and executing actions when faced with changes and challenges in shipping and transport requirements.
  • Identifying and recommending procedural improvements to optimize Metals Logistics Department performance, aligning with best practices and enhancing key performance indicators.
Skills and attributes for success:
  • Post-secondary diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related discipline; a minimum of 5 years of equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in international transportation and/or international freight forwarding.
  • Strong understanding of Canadian import and export regulations.
  • Advanced knowledge of transportation regulations, including IATA, WHMIS, IMO, and IMDG.

JOB SUMMARY

The Manager, Supply Chain is responsible for leading and optimizing the end-to-end supply chain operations, with a focus on ensuring the efficient, accurate, and timely procurement and distribution of materials and equipment across all company locations.   • Proven experience leading and developing procurement teams, including setting performance goals, mentoring team members, and fostering effective cross-functional collaboration
  • Hands-on experience managing the full purchase order (PO) cycle, including requisition processing, approvals, vendor coordination, and delivery tracking.
  • Collaborate with the sales department to forecast short- and long-term rental equipment requirements, providing weekly updates to the VP, Finance
  • Collaborate with the sales and operations department to forecast short- and long-term inventory requirements, managing min/max order management and providing weekly updates to the VP, Finance
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the corporate ERP system, including the creation of customized reports and dashboards for various internal users
  • Prepare and manage annual operating budgets for supply chain functions; contribute to capital budget planning and manage cash flow requirements related to inventory and rental assets
  • Oversee and coordinate cycle counts and annual physical inventory for both inventory and rental assets, working closely with operations team at each branch location
  • Prepare asset acquisition requests including ROI analyses for capital purchases or rental decisions; and submit recommendations to the VP, Finance
  • Foster strong relationships with internal departments, external vendors, and customers to ensure exceptional service delivery aligned with the company’s vision
  • Support other departments in the preparation of proposals and quotations by providing timely input on rental equipment costing, availability, and lead times

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of supervisory or management experience in a parts or inventory focused environment, ideally within the telecommunications, construction, or industrial sectors
  • Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation; equivalent post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business Administration will also be considered.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain best practices, including forecasting, procurement, and vendor management.
    Familiarity with safety standards and compliance requirements applicable to office, warehouse, and field/shop environments.

  • Project management and strategic planning experience

# **What You Bring to the Table**

- 3–5 years of experience in supply chain management, with a focus on logistics, procurement, and inventory planning.
- 3+ years in a leadership role managing cross-functional teams within supply chain or operations.
- Experience in international supply chain operations, including import processes and customs compliance.
- Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven track record of driving cost efficiencies, improving processes, and managing supplier relationships.
- Familiarity with restaurant or retail supply chains is a strong asset.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Excel); experience with supply chain software or ERP systems is a plus.

**Summary**
Under the responsibility of the Manager, the Supervisor Logistics is responsible to supervise, coordinate and oversee the logistics operations and provide coaching, development and training to the staff members. The successful candidate must be able to provide recommendations for improvements to the facility, equipment, machinery, and processes. They will be accountable that the staff is performing to standard and has to ensure that progress is made to achieve the business objectives.
**Essential Functions**
+ Supervise, coordinate and oversee day to day logistics operations;
+ Plan and review, in collaboration with the Logistics Manager, all logistics processes, ensuring that they meet the company standards and customer service specifications
+ Establish work schedules and procedures and coordinate activities of the workers to ensure optimal shift/team logistics
+ Accountable for site Key Performance Indication (KPI)
+ Working in collaboration with customer in all aspect of operations
+ Meet regularly with team members collectively, as well as on an individual basis to monitor progress towards meeting objectives, track performance, coach and counsel as well as recognizing team and individual successes
+ Cultivate team spirit with a Diversity and Inclusion initiative and promote cooperation by seeking opportunities to improve internal processes
+ Carry out performance evaluations of the team members and recommend performance awards and/or merit increases when appropriate
+ Address performance problems through corrective action and disciplinary process
+ Understand labor agreement and maintain positive labor relations with all employees
+ Responsible for implementation of health & safety and security initiatives, practices and behaviors and adherence to company rules and policies
+ Provide appropriate orientation for employees and Lead Hands and give them the information, technology and any material necessary to perform their jobs
