WSP is currently seeking an experienced **Manufacturing Engineer, Nuclear** to join one of our Ontario offices. Several projects will potentially require travel to Tiverton, Ontario, Toronto Ontario, Saint John, New Brunswick, Pickering and Oshawa, Ontario.
The Manufacturing Engineer will establish and refine manufacturing procedures. This position will also prepare and maintain shop documentation conforming to quality system requirements and assess and resolve non-conforming conductions that affect the product. This position also will support the shop through facilities and equipment maintenance, upgrade or installation and designing tooling as required to support shop activities and safe work.

**What you can expect to do here:**
+ Prepare detailed shop routings and identify required resources, tooling, and operating procedures.
+ Resolve non-conforming conditions by assessing drawings, specifications, and quality standards; produce supplementary documentation and liaise with relevant personnel.

**What you'll bring to WSP:**

+ Licensed Professional Engineer in province of residence.
+ 5+ years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or consulting environment with a focus on NUCLEAR.
+ Have a solid knowledge of Machine Guarding in accordance with CSA.
+ Knowledge of ASME Standards and Pressure Vessel Codes
+ Knowledge and demonstrated application of Statistical Process Control tools and principles.
+ Comfortable with common Microsoft Office software applications.
+ Knowledge and demonstrated application of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles.
+ Experience in the Nuclear industry.

This is a 16 month co-op term . Working under the general direction and guidance of your Manager and the Senior Operations Engineer Lead, you be collaborating with contacts on Operations Engineering, Engineering and Production/Service teams to explain and interpret technical information and recommend solutions. You will be contributing to system and process changes and work to achieve operational targets that impact team results. You will also be expected to recommend solutions to problems for others to review.
Primary Responsibilities
Working in a cross-functional team with Operations and Engineering, you will be responsible for strategically identifying and tactically implementing improvements of WESCAM products and processes, in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. This role is responsible for ensuring WESCAM's product meet customer requirements, achieves a high standard of quality, and has robust build and test processes throughout its lifecycle. As a Manufacturing Engineering Coop, you will:
· Lead and participate in assigned projects related to Manufacturing Engineering activities within Operations - projects will be of moderate scope and complexity assigned by the Operations Engineering Department
· Provide mechanical design analysis, and testing support for new and existing products and associated build processes.
· Participate in design reviews and support the verification and validation of new product designs and build process.
· Work in partnership with the Service Frontline ME team as required resolving operational technical issues and the development of new systems processes
· Use a variety of standard engineering methods and defined best practices in solving problems and executing tasks.
· Capture and analyze data related to estimating accuracy and cycle times related to shop floor throughput.
· Responsible for creating and maintaining Assembly & Test Procedures
· Support documentation changes, including service procedures, Work Instructions and Manufacturing Execution System (MES) authoring.
· May contribute to definition of departmental best practices of a clearly defined scope.
· Reviewing change requests generated by engineering and mechanical staff, and implement changes as required.
· Responsible for the timely completion of tasks
· Support any other business priorities as required by Operations Engineering leadership.
Required Capabilities
· A highly motivated, self-starter.
· Some experience with a solid modeling CAD package, SolidWorks preferred.
