The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for optimizing manufacturing processes, ensuring product quality, and supporting the production of aseptic process equipment that meets stringent industry standards. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve production efficiency, reduce costs, and maintain regulatory compliance. This role will have a dedicated focus on interpreting electrical schematics and pneumatic diagrams to support system design and troubleshooting.
This position reports to the Manager, Manufacturing Engineering, and is part of the Operations located in Burnaby, BC, and will be an on-site role.
What you will do:
+ Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety.
+ Drive process improvements, focusing on reducing waste, improving product quality, and increasing productivity.
+ Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues to minimize downtime and production delays.
+ Represent manufacturing function throughout all stages of NPI projects, leading reviews and completing deliverables.
+ Develop and maintain documentation for manufacturing processes, including work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and process flows.
Who you are:
+ Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or a related degree, with relevant industry experience
+ Proficiency in interpreting and creating electrical and mechanical documentation, including schematics, pneumatic diagrams, and CAD drawings
+ Hands-on experience managing or contributing to cross-functional engineering projects using structured project plans
+ Strong analytical and innovative problem-solving capabilities applied to manufacturing processes
+ Skilled in using engineering tools and software for diagnostics, design, and process optimization
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
+ Ability to travel up to 1 week per quarter to other manufacturing sites or suppliers.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
+ Experience in Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing.
+ Experience in Medical, Aerospace, or other highly regulated manufacturing environment.
+ Experience in Digital Work Instruction Software (such as VisualFactory).

The salary range for this role is $85,000 - $105,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.

What will you do as an Manufacturing Technologist?

Working under the guidance of the Production Lead, the Assembler/Manufacturing Technologist diligently performs product assembly, tests, alignment, calibration, and verification as well as repair activities ensuring conformity of products to define requirements. Scope of work includes all processes from initial inventory handling through to finalization and packaging.

This position is specifically for the afternoon shift. 

Typical duties, responsibilities and activities include:

  • Prepares components, assembles, aligns, calibrates, verifies and tests product in accordance with the manufacturing documentation to ensure product is manufactured to quality requirements.
  • Strictly adheres to detailed instructions, drawings, specifications, and bills of material to accurately process components into finished products.
  • Performing work in accordance with quality standards and safety procedures.
  • Adheres to ESD policy and ensures proper handling of product and its components.
  • Participates in continual training and development.
  • Manages time to ensure product is built and repaired to satisfy standard times.
  • Accurately documents status, labour and parts on the electronic traveller.
  • Posts assembly and material transactions in NetSuite database.
  • Promptly segregates and reports non-conforming parts and products.
  • Escalates all issues or concerns immediately to the Production Leads and/or Production Manager.  Clearly communicates and clarifies details about assembly issues.
  • Maintains a clean and tidy work area.
  • Adheres to LMI Employee Policy Manual. 
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
What do you need to be successful?
  • High School Diploma.  
  • Experience working in an electro-mechanical assembly/test is highly preferred.
  • Proficient with computers.
  • Soldering experience to IPC 610 class 2 standards is an asset.
  • Cleanroom experience is an asset.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven track record of quality and performance.

Salary Range: $37,900 - $50,869

**ABOUT THE ROLE**
The **Quality Control Technician** is responsible for ensuring product quality through an extensive testing program and reporting process. You will build your skills from the ground up - learning about our business with hands-on experience. You will spend approximately 80% of your time in the field (sampling & testing) and approximately 20% of your time in the office (inputting & analyzing data.)
**WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH**
+ Collect product samples based on production and shipping volumes; perform routine tests on all samples, with some lifting up to 50 lbs.
+ Enter test results into Excel and the aggQC database, ensuring all data is submitted and distributed weekly.
+ Communicate testing results to management and production staff to prevent the sale or production of out-of-spec materials.
+ Conduct visual inspections of production and shipping piles to identify issues like oversize material or contamination.
+ Assist customers and contractors on-site by providing product information, samples, and occasional facility tours.
+ Support tasks such as surveying, fill site coverage, barge sampling, and blast monitoring, depending on site needs.
+ Record daily production data to maintain accurate inventory levels.
+ Carry out general housekeeping duties, including garbage removal, to support a clean and safe work environment.
+ Prepare monthly reports and summaries for quality assurance, sales staff, management, and external customers.
+ Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
**WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR**
**Education:** University Degree, College Degree or Trade Certification preferred
**Required Work Experience:** Experience in a construction environment is preferred

Job Summary

The Manufacturing / Industrial Engineer plays a critical role in driving continuous improvement initiatives across Delta Intelligent Building Technologies' manufacturing operations. This position will act as a trusted advisor to managers, supervisors, and lead hands, providing expertise in process control implementation, automation, capacity planning and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading improvement projects to optimize manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborating on new product introductions (NPI), ensuring smooth transitions from product development to full-scale production.
  • Assisting in the optimization of products, identifying and resolving issues throughout the products lifecycle.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Process Development & Optimization

– Evaluate and enhance manufacturing processes by analyzing data, establishing control points, and ensuring process stability.

– Improve manufacturing efficiency by optimizing workflow, space utilization, equipment layout and automation.

– Diagnose process deficiencies, propose design improvements, and document changes within the quality system.

  • Product & Process Integration

– Support Product Development by establishing and refining manufacturing processes for new and existing products.

– Develop standardized design criteria across all product lines.

  • Cost & Performance Management

– Provide manufacturing decision-making insights by calculating production, labor, and material costs.

  • Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement

  • Proven expertise in facilitating Kaizen events, leading transformation projects, and implementing lean strategies.
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles (5S, Value Stream Mapping, Kanban, JIT, TPM, SMED).
  • Strong knowledge/experience in warehouse-to-production material planning, inventory management, or supply chain operations in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in data analysis, process simulation tools, and industrial automation to support lean initiatives.

The Role

We are looking for a Production Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of our production floor. Reporting to the VP of Operations, this hands-on role is responsible for ensuring production targets are met, quality is maintained, and safety protocols are followed. You'll be managing front line team members, coordinating schedules, and helping drive continuous improvement.


Your Impact as the Production Supervisor

  • Supervise the production lines and activities (including 1 Production Associate)
  • Troubleshoot, investigate and correct any deviations from the work instructions (WI's) and quality control
  • Develop a detailed production schedule and prepare RCCP to ensure using resources efficiently
  • Generate production work orders to optimize labor utilization and mitigate production constraints
  • Utilize CI principles to define improvement projects using Lean Six Sigma methods
  • Assist in the implementation of all technical enterprise solutions, including ERP and MRP systems
  • Develop, maintain and report KPIs for quality, safety, and efficiency
  • Identify COGS reductions on the floor and work with key stakeholders to implement changes
  • Participate in work safety practices in consultation with the Health and Safety Committee
  • Ensure training and procedures are effectively created, communicated and implemented to all employees
  • Stay abreast of relevant CSR initiatives, research and trends in environmental sustainability and promoting best practices throughout their reports
  • Drive budget and monitor spending to deliver results in line with planned sustainability practices and objectives


Who You Are

  • 2-4 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of shop floor operations and production processes
  • Effective communicator keep things running smoothly
  • Organized, proactive, and solution-oriented
  • Able to lift and move materials and be on your feet for extended periods
  • Experience in electronics or mechanical assembly is an asset

What will you do as an Manufacturing Systems Engineer II? The Manufacturing Systems Engineer is responsible for optimizing production yield and cost-effectiveness of LMI parts and products, serving as a critical interface between R&D and manufacturing. This role involves addressing manufacturing discrepancies, implementing process improvements using Lean principles, and executing sustaining engineering tasks. Reporting to the Manufacturing Systems Team Lead, this position ensures the integrity and efficiency of manufacturing operations.
  • Resolve production discrepancies by managing problem reports, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions using the 8D methodology. Facilitate status review meetings with stakeholders and act as the primary technical liaison between Operations and R&D for issue escalation and resolution.
  • Manage production equipment escalations with LMI’s Automation and Software Development teams, providing detailed technical specifications and requirements.
  • Execute engineering change requests (ECRs), engineering change orders (ECOs), and associated sustaining engineering and continuous improvement projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on new product introduction (NPI) projects. Lead production transfer activities, including the development of detailed work instructions and bills of materials (BOMs), design of manufacturing processes and equipment, coordination of validation builds, and provision of manufacturing training.
  • Initiate and execute manufacturing process improvement projects. Reduce process variation and non-conformances. Identify and eliminate waste and inefficiencies through the application of Lean principles. 
  • Plan and implement modifications to workcell flow and layout based on Lean concepts to enhance productivity. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor productivity and process efficiency.
  • Participate in design for manufacturing and assembly (DFMA) reviews. Develop and document manufacturing, serviceability, and reliability requirements.
  • Adhere to LMI Employee Policy Manual and relevant engineering standards.
What do you need to be successful?
  • Bachelor’s degree in System, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in a similar engineering role within a high-tech manufacturing environment. Demonstrated knowledge and application of Lean manufacturing principles is preferred.
  • Proficiency in manufacturing processes, particularly those involving high precision mechanical, electrical, electronics, or electro-mechanical assembly.
  • Excellent technical communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate Lean methodologies, objectives, and expectations.
  • Proficiency in product lifecycle management (PLM) document control systems, part number/BOM management, and project/task/milestone scheduling and tracking.
  • Familiarity with CAD design software and the ability to interpret and create technical drawings.
  • Proactive and results-oriented, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and ensure the successful execution of project plans.
