About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Maintenance Electrician, who can perform the below requirements:
- Provide guidance and support to Maintenance & Production, R&D, Quality Assurance and Operations for product/process development
- Responsible for effective troubleshooting, repair, installation, and preventative maintenance
- Proactively detect potential problems and recommend the necessary repair or maintenance
- Must be part of team, a hands on' approach with equipment
- Work with production to ensure clear SOPs / instructions are provided for all equipment
- Ensure safe plant operations
Requirements
- Valid 442A Ontario Industrial Electrician trade license an asset
- 5 years of industrial food equipment experience is required (e.g. flow wrappers, or relevant experience in a repetitive/fast-paced environment)
- Knowledge of robots, conveyors, high speed packaging equipment, and electrical/electronic controls
- 5 years of experience conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures
- Experience troubleshooting with PLC's
- Must have knowledge of working on Auto Cad or similar software program to maintain and edit existing engineering drawings as required from time to time
- Computer skills required for Microsoft Office
- Must have strong leadership skills and passionate about quality and food safety
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and highly organized
- Works well under pressure
- Preference will be given to candidates with Lean Six Sigma

OVERVIEW:
Reporting to the Bulk Plan Supervisor, the Bulk Plant Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment and infrastructure at our petroleum bulk plants, ensuring safe and efficient operations. This role involves troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and potentially some mechanical or electrical work.
This is a full-time, permanent role, where the individual will oversee the daily operations of the Company’s bulk plant facilities, ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements, and address and resolve operational issues promptly.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Equipment Maintenance
- Performing routine maintenance and repairs on pumps, valves, piping, storage tanks, metering and gauging systems, and other equipment at the bulk plant.
- Performs all daily, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual maintenance and compliance inspections, and maintains required logs as appropriate.
- Basic ability to connect to networks, working with IT.
Preventative Maintenance
- Implementing and following maintenance schedules to prevent equipment failures.
Inventory Management
- Involved in tracking and maintaining inventory of spare parts and materials.
Documentation
- Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment condition.
Communication
- Effectively and proactively communicating with supervisors and other team members regarding maintenance issues and work progress.
- Communicate product outages and equipment downtime to appropriate individuals.
- Collaborate with other plant staff or external contractors.
Safety and Compliance
- Ensure that all contractors, customers and vendors follow Company Policies and Procedures.
- Ensure bulk plants maintain safe spaces and practices. Ensures monthly safety inspections are completed.
- Participates as a member of the emergency response team.

EDUCATION & SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE:
- 2+ years of related experience in petroleum bulk plant repairs and maintenance.
- Working knowledge of bulk material handling equipment and machinery. Knowledge of pumps, valves, piping, and other equipment used in petroleum handling. Understanding of preventative maintenance practices.
- Technical troubleshooting ability and able diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to petroleum handling and maintenance TSSA codes. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Knowledge of various computer applications such as Microsoft applications.
- Experience with logistics software and ERP systems.
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills. Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- A continuous improvement attitude and are able to seek greater knowledge and understanding of the systems, process and hazards in the workplaces.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Willing to travel overnight when required.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. 24/7 on-call will be required at times when needed.

The KRG Municipal Public Works Department is responsible for managing infrastructure projects (wastewater lagoons, drinking water treatment plants, road infrastructure, and buildings) for the northern villages and the KRG. It is also responsible for providing technical assistance to the northern villages in matters related to the operation and maintenance of their drinking water treatment plants.
Reporting to the assistant director of the Department and in close collaboration with other Department staff, the instructor’s duties include, in particular:
- Assist and train municipal plant operators to operate, maintain, and repair plant equipment (water sampling and analysis, chlorination, equipment calibration, problem detection, repair solutions, parts ordering, etc.);
- Evaluate the drinking water treatment and equipment maintenance activities of municipal plant operators in accordance with the plant operator training program to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements;

- Create and maintain field operations manuals and detailed logs of inspections, monitoring, and maintenance;

- Help local workers to maintain an inventory of parts and tools, and assist with the preparation of annual sealift orders;
- Work closely with municipal plant operators and KRG project managers to develop drinking water supply system improvements and participate in their implementation;

The selected candidate must:
- Possess a vocational studies diploma related to drinking water treatment or water treatment equipment repairs, and have at least three years of relevant work experience;
- Possess at least one of the following certificates from Quebec or a Canadian equivalent:
- Certificate in complete surface or groundwater treatment and distribution network (OSTUD)
- Certificate in complete surface water treatment (OST)
- Certificate in complete surface water treatment with chlorine and UV disinfection (OSChV)
- Possess practical plumbing, electrical, controls, and carpentry skills;
