**Responsibilities**
+ Manage a globally distributed Quality Assurance Team
+ Develop staff capabilities by recruiting resources, defining development areas, providing ongoing feedback, training, and development to foster professional and technical competencies
+ Optimize team efficiency by aligning projects with appropriate resources
+ Foster capability-driven assignment and collaboration to leverage execution synergies across projects and products
+ Direct staff in the implementation of test plans and participate in various elements of product and capability test activities

+ Evaluate feasibility of outsourced versus in-house testing for various activities and based on the required level of technical versus domain expertise

+ Maintain an ongoing awareness of developments in quality assurance programs, practices, technologies in the industry
+ Collaborate with fellow SQA managers to research and evaluate alternative methodologies, practices, and tools to improve quality assurance standards of company products and services
+ Managers of Professional roles - and/or managers of people that manage Support roles
+ Manages work for medium size team, or multiple small teams and achieves results by directing work through supervisors/team leads and professional employees
+ Typically focused on areas of subject matter expertise within one discipline

**Minimum Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's or Master's or equivalent degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent ?
+ Proven track record (5+ years) of managing and directing professional staff responsible for delivering high-quality software
+ 10+ years of experience in testing applications on heterogeneous (desktop, client-server, web applications) platforms and operation systems (Windows, Linux)
+ Strong understanding of Quality Assurance disciplines, designing tests based on user stories, and testing methodologies including the authoring of functional test plans, regression testing, and performance / load testing scripts
+ Strong understanding of testing automation practices, working with automation frameworks that scale, using tools like Cypress, Playwright, or similar
+ Exceptional team player with very good moderation, consulting and influencing skills
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
+ Experience working on a scrum team developing desktop products and/or cloud services; understand software and/or services architecture, development, and testing; understand Agile and Scaled Agile

Quality Control CO-OP/Internship (Hybrid) Survalent is seeking a dynamic, adaptable, and driven Quality Control co-op student/intern for an exciting 8-month work term. In this role, you’ll help support the development, enhancement, and release of features within Survalent’s Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS). This is an excellent opportunity for a student interested in a career in software testing/development. If this opportunity aligns with your interests, read on to learn more about the position. Responsibilities & Essential Functions: * Verify and validate product and project requirements * Analyze requirements, design test scenarios, and test cases * Prepare and manage the test environment * Execute functional, performance, and integration test cases * Develop and maintain test automation scripts and packages * Report defects, and follow up on resolutions * Support customer and sales teams with technical consultancy * Collaborate with Product Development Teams to build the most reliable solutions * And other duties as required. Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Must be enrolled in a university program specializing in a software development, engineering, or related field * Experience in the software development lifecycle, software testing, and system integration * Familiar with waterfall, iterative and agile methodology * Must have exceptional interpersonal skills, effective verbal, and written communication skills * Must be self-motivated and proactive with a strong work ethic * Good teamwork skills * Computer programming and object-oriented design concepts is an asset * Familiarity with ADMS, SCADA, OMS, DMS, TCP/IP, FTP, SOA/XML, Modbus, DNP3, SNMP, is an asset The successful candidate will report to the software Quality Control & Release Management Manager.
