Summary:

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Analyst for Fire, Communication, Automation and related Smart Building products. The successful candidate will be responsible for verification and stability testing of our products and additionally will have to perform pre-certification testing for regulatory bodies such as UL, ULC, FM and CSFM. This role is a full time permanent role located in our Vaughan Office.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop test strategies and procedures for design verification of networked fire alarm control panels and system configuration tools.
  • Develop documentation of test procedures and regression test plans.
  • Perform features, functions, stability, and regression testing of products.
  • Design, implement, and manage own lab test networks.
  • Coordinate testing activities with the rest of the QA test group as well as with the Product Developers.
  • Assist in reproducing customers’ issues in the QA lab.
  • Provide feedback to developers to improve the usability of the products.
Requirements and Skills:
  • Diploma in electronics or electro-mechanical related technology.
  • Degree in electrical, software or mechanical engineering.
  • Minimum 2+ years of QA test experience. (or related experience).
  • Strong working knowledge of wired and wireless networking protocols.
  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure and networking equipment setup and operation.
  • Working knowledge of cloud-based software.
  • Ability to use network protocol analyzers for troubleshooting and analysis of networking and communications issues.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and works well in a team environment.
  • Experience with JTAG, BDM, FPGA Programming and other debugging tools is an asset.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Operating Systems.
  • Experience with Real Time Operating Systems.
  • Experience working with electronic circuitry, engineering lab test equipment.
  • Ability to read schematics and modify hardware is an asset.
  • Experience with issue tracking and test management tools i.e. JIRA, TestRail, etc…
  • Hands-on experience with product installation and configuration including hand tools.

**Responsibilities**
+ Tests and supports new and existing applications on desktop, web, mobile and cloud platforms. Performs manual and automation tests in accordance with established guidelines and project plan. Contributes to hardware device testing. Creates automation to support regression testing, and continuously improves testing practices to ensure timely and efficient delivery.
+ Develops focused test plans. Performs complex test cases and maintain associated test records. Reviews new requirements. Provides estimates on new requirements. Assists in the process with development in order to provide timely and accurate resolution to critical customer issues. Contributes to the quality portion of building, packaging and deploying code. Identifies patterns that need to be addressed from a quality perspective prior to hitting QA environments.
+ Designs test plan for future requirements. Sets up and maintains test environments. **Qualifications**

What You Will Be Doing  

As a QA Analyst, you will: 

  • Develop and maintain detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts for payment flows, including account setup, remittance, and settlement processing. 

  • Perform manual and automated testing across backend APIs, frontend UIs, data integrations, and cloud-native microservices. 

  • Validate RESTful APIs and complex payloads using Postman, Swagger, and developer consoles. 

  • Support end-to-end testing for wire transfers, crypto transactions, and banking integrations (ACH, RTP, etc.). 

  • Conduct regression, smoke, integration, UAT, and exploratory testing in Agile environments. 

  • Ensure test data integrity through SQL queries and backend validations. 

  • Execute production smoke tests and validate deployments across multiple environments. 

  • Maintain traceability between user stories, test cases, defects, and compliance protocols (PCI, SOC2, etc.). 

  • Log and manage defects using Jira, collaborating with cross-functional teams for resolution. 

  • Own quality metrics across environments, producing release readiness reports and risk assessments. 

  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts for automation, governance, and QA tooling. 
     

What We’re Looking For  

  • 5+ years of QA experience in financial technology, preferably in payments or banking systems. 

  • Strong hands-on experience with API validation, SQL, and browser-based debugging. 

  • Familiarity with .NET, AWS environments, and JSON/XML payload testing. 

  • Proficiency with test management platforms (TestRail, Zephyr, etc.) and version control systems (Git). 

  • Understanding of PCI-DSS, SOC2, and regulatory testing frameworks. 

  • Comfortable validating system behavior across multiple integrations, interfaces, and data pipelines. 

  • Excellent communication and documentation skills. 

  • Proactive mindset with exceptional attention to detail and a strong instinct for risk detection. 

  • Experience working in Scrum or Kanban teams with rapid feedback cycles. 
     

Bonus Points For: 

  • Experience testing remittance engines, virtual accounts, or transaction reconciliation features. 

  • Exposure to automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or API test automation.

The Analyst is responsible for managing of ~3000 accounts across various books of record, reconciliation support (quality review, monthly certification), system administration for TLM and audit support and supporting various TDAM activities (cash sweep TD/CIBC Mellon, CIBC custody account opening for fund launches, custody account administration, Fargo stay back functions, MF Trust administration support).
Provide a range of analytical/process support, research on digital technologies to automate processes and assist with special initiatives within Reconciliations and reporting.
Leader with a keen sense of finding the root cause of problems by sifting through data and metrics as well as strong interpersonal skills to lead change within diverse teams and skillsets.
**Job Description**
Oversight and management of various complex reconciliations as part of the month end certification process:
+ Continuous monitoring of break investigation, accurate break assignment, distribution, reporting, and exceptions impacting reconciliations - ensure that root cause is understood and analyzed for escalation, communicated effectively, tracked, and resolved.
+ Assist in driving continuous improvement of the current state reconciliations and investigation model service level agreements (SLA)
Analyze current state reconciliation controls process and perform root cause analysis for any breaks and gaps in process, including but not limited to:
+ Finding Data integrity or quality issues
+ Mapping current state processes
+ Sourcing/creating metrics to performing meaningful analytics
+ Fixing Source Files or data feed and consistent re-occurring errors
+ Identifying outdated processes or technology and subsequently strategizing roadmap to remediation
Assist in driving change and solutions for all identified root causes:
+ Take risk-based approach in applying innovative solutions to unique problems in differing lines of business
+ Liaise and drive change between multiple stakeholders (Technology, Business Architecture, Operations, Wealth Business lines etc.) to get end resolution
+ Recommend and summarize improvements quantifying to executives and senior leadership
Business Analysis:
+ Participate in projects supporting a broad range of data driven solutions by applying a variety of techniques to build our models.
+ Support the team by providing analytics and insights to recommend actions that will enable optimal business decisions and/or resolves complex business problems.
+ Identify opportunities to drive business growth & value.
Business Intelligence:
+ Provide data visualization support by employing various techniques to support the business in communicating Reconciliations breaks, implications and /or recommendations to the business.
+ Design/develop dashboards and scorecards to support business needs; ensure alignment of metrics across the organization
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Process various transactions accurately, on time and in line with established guidelines/procedures while adhering to formal or informal Service Level Agreement(s) (SLAs)
+ Refer or escalate processing or operational issues where necessary to ensure a high level of service is maintained
+ Provide optimal customer and partner service, including guidance and advice, while adhering to customer service standards
+ Identify opportunities to improve service delivery and support process improvement initiatives
+ Support partners via inbound calls by answering questions performing adjustments within authority levels
+ Maintain working relationships with customers, partners and vendors including responding to questions and/or concerns in an effective and timely manner
+ Assist in driving continuous improvement of the current state reconciliations investigation model service level agreements (SLA)

+ Conduct reporting and/or meaningful analysis at the functional or enterprise level using results to draw conclusions, make recommendations, assess the effectiveness of programs / policies / practices
+ Monitor service, productivity and assess efficiency levels within own function and implement continuous process / performance improvements where opportunities exist
+ Acquire and apply expertise in the discipline, provide guidance, assistance, and direction to others
+ Identify, recommend, and effectively execute standard practices applicable to the discipline
+ Adhere to internal policies/procedures and applicable regulatory guidelines
+ Keep abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts

**Other Qualifications/Skills**
+ Good understanding of underlying Wealth business processes and ability to interpret issues and relay to stakeholders in a concise and simple manner will be an asset
+ Good knowledge of Wealth operational functions including strong familiarity with various applications and books of record used
+ 3 to 5 years related industry experience
+ Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve issues and disciplined approach to investigating root causes
+ Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and ability to prioritize and manage the workflow of the team.
+ Very good verbal, written communication, and presentation skills. Ability to relay messages in a simple, concise, and effective manner
+ Highly proficient in Excel (advanced excel preferred)
+ Prior experience with audits will be an asset
+ Prior experience in Tableau or other reporting tools will be an asset
+ Very good interpersonal skills that will facilitate working with many internal/external partners to achieve successful outcomes

Responsibilities:

Short-term: QA focused and get familiar with the product

  • Define and maintain test plans
  • Test specifications for functional, regression and performance testing
  • Find clear reproduction steps for issues reported by customers
  • Verify builds for quality prior to production deployment
  • Translate high-level business requirements into test scenarios
  • Perform service-level testing on an as-needed basis

Long term: Increased development focus

  • Become familiar with our codebase and help with smaller development tasks
  • Implement and maintain automated test scripts covering fundamental functions in the application
  • Work closely with engineering teams to discuss risk and risk mitigation
