The Manufacturing Technology Drafter is responsible for interpreting customer drawings, and transcribing the information therein into JCA scale drawings, and other documentation needed to build efficiently on the production floor. Other duties include building the BOM (Bill of Material) and Labor estimates and assisting with managing the change of designs for our customers, as well as JCA designed products. Prior drafting experience, an eagerness to learn new skills, and good attention to detail would be valuable for any applicant.
**Your Impact**
+ Ensure the accurate and timely creation of scale drawings for use in layup boards to align with customer order dates and with production processes.
+ Review drawing designs while drafting to ensure efficiency in production.
+ Responsible for production drawing reviews and updating redlined drawings when required.
+ Creation of layup drawings and technical drawings for customer designs following JCA's drawing standard.
+ Updates on existing scale drawings due to customer design errors, or production improvement requests.
**Your Experience and Qualifications**
+ Prior drafting experience - working knowledge of Vesys Harness drafting software would be an asset.
+ Excellent attention to detail required for this position. Good verbal and written communication skills. Working knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Excel and Word.
+ Ability to read and create electrical schematics and drawings.
+ Experience with reading and understanding datasheets/drawings for electronic/electrical components.
+ Good organizational and time management skills

- Deliver and perform activities such as pre-engagement & post-engagement site visits, customer discovery meetings, on-site assessments, site reports, deliverables review, and other field activities as required.
Your Capabilities and Credentials: 
- Familiarity with Canadian electrical standards and codes
- Knowledge of TIA/BICSI/ASIS standards & best practices.
- Good interpersonal skills for internal team interfaces
- Excellent verbal communication and technical writing skills required
- Experience using Revit is preferred

Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Extensive Science & Technology lab planning experience (both in size and diversity) that will support the ability to win work during proposal response. - this includes lab planning for ground-up buildings, Tenant Improvements, and renovation projects.
- Multidisciplinary buildings engineering and architecture experience in Science and Technology
- Knowledge of building codes, standards, building construction, and building systems with specific knowledge of science and technology building requirements.
- Demonstrated technical skills on major and technically complex projects.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong business development skills, including significant experience building and maintaining productive relationships with a client base (such experience within a consulting organization in Western Canada is considered a strong asset).

Your Opportunity
The Technology Consulting Canada West Regional Leader contributes to the overall strategic and tactical leadership of the Stantec Buildings group Technology Consulting discipline in Buildings offices within the Canada West region. This position will lead strategic projects, be client facing, contribute to project delivery standards and work processes, provide quality control, workload forecasting and financial performance accountability. Your Key Responsibilities
People and Practice Management - approximately 25% of time
- In collaboration with BC leadership and other Technology Consulting leaders, develop annual budgets for sales, topline revenue, training, utilization and project performance for the Canada West Technology Consulting group.
- In conjunction with others stakeholders, identify and forecast staff needs and assignments based on current and projected workload and SME requirements.
- Hold project team members accountable for deliverables and best practices.
- Ensure PM compliance with best practices, including Stantec PM Frameworks
- Directly & Indirectly manage Technology Consulting staff in a performance management environment, and be responsible for hiring as required.

Technical Leadership - approximately 10% of time
- Maintain awareness of operational, technical or regulatory changes within the Technology Consulting and AEC overall, disseminate such knowledge to staff and firm, and integrate into existing processes and standards.
- Maintain and update Technology Consulting specifications, technical documentation and standards.
- Oversee Technology Consulting design delivery process and best practices and coordinate with other disciplines.
- Provide oversight for Technology Consulting staff's education and certification process & balance firm, studio and staff needs.
Business Development/Marketing - approximately 10% of time
- Contribute to the development of strategic and tactical business development and marketing plans for the Technology Consulting group and align with firm-wide Technology Consulting goals and strategies.
- Develop new and maintain existing client relationships.
- Develop presentation materials and present to clients and at strategic industry events.
