+ Label and manage paperwork for hazardous waste disposal

The RoleThe Material Handler is responsible for moving, storing, and managing the materials within the warehouse and production environment, ensuring efficient inventory management systems and logistics support. What You Will Do- Load, unload, and transport materials and products within the warehouse or production areas
- Able to follow Shipping/Receiving documentation for accurate transactions
- Maintain accurate inventory records by identifying, labeling, and tracking materials and supplies
- Conduct cycle counts and manages material expiry and allocation
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery to move items safely and efficiently
- Record material handling data and maintain clear documentation of inventory status and movements
- Work in a team-based environment to complete tasks efficiently and support production schedules
- Workplace maintenance, keeping work areas including storage and loading docks clean, organized and free of debris to prevent accidents
- Assists Shipping/Receiving Supervisor with additional responsibilities, as necessary
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
- Performs company Pick-ups and Delivery as required
- Assist with floor checks and loading of freight when required

As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for picking, packing, and shipping customer orders as well as counting, verifying, receiving, and putting away incoming vendor material and customer returns. A high attention to detail will ensure exceptional levels of customer service and satisfaction.
Additional duties will include:
- Follow all Health and Safety rules and legislation while performing job functions
- Load and unload trucks, operate forklift and other material handling equipment
- Receiving duties include:
- Upon unloading vendor shipments or customer returns, obtain the packing slip and verify material received. Note any discrepancies or damaged material
- Print and verify the computer receiving documents and enter material received into the computer system
- Identify special order material and damaged material and store in proper location
- Note all shipping discrepancies on freight carrier’s Bill of Lading, initiate freight claims and forward paperwork to appropriate teammate
- Picking, packing, and shipping duties include:
- Pick material for customer orders, counting and comparing items to the shipping documentation
- Assemble material and pack appropriately for pick up or shipment to customer
- Complete documentation for any shipments being delivered via third party carrier or requiring Transportation of Dangerous Goods documentation
- Inform the Supervisor of any inventory discrepancies and damaged/defective material that would impact customer service levels
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness and safety by removing empty cartons, metal banding, pallets, and other debris
- Inform Warehouse Supervisor and/or Profit Centre Manager of any safety issues within the warehouse
- Assist teammates in servicing customers at the counter
- Perform other tasks as requested by the Profit Centre Manager
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent; College and/or University degree an asset
- A minimum of 1 year of warehouse experience
- Outstanding customer service and verbal communication skills
- Able to develop comprehensive product knowledge
- Ability to learn to safely operate a forklift and any other material handling equipment
- Possess a high level of attention to detail and accurately process orders
- Able to learn and operate the applicable software system used to process orders

**Essential Functions**
+ Perform warehouse function, which may include loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and, cycle counting
+ Performing duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract
+ Responsible for the accurate picking and packing, auditing, tote induction, staging of products and loading and unloading of trucks
+ Responsible of dealing with day to day paperwork in a warehouse environment (i.e. picking sheets, returns, bills of lading, etc.)
+ Provide technical and maintenance support for different aspects related to the automated packing system during the core shift hour of production
**Additional Responsibilities**
+ Candidate must have basic level knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice requirements, if applicable to site.
+ Performing duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract.
+ Some locations may require a Motor Vehicles Records (MVR) check as a part of the background screening process to drive a company vehicle as needed.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
