Based out of the Electrical Division Edmonton, (EDE) location, the Material Handler, PCR/E-House will report to the Senior Manufacturing Supervisor. The Material Handler is responsible for various products and materials, including the receiving and handling of raw materials within the Powell Canada manufacturing process. This position assists Electricians, Integrators, Building Erectors, and Lead persons.
Essential Responsibilities
+ Co-ordinate and take direction from Senior Material Handler
+ Perform physical movement of materials from one area to another using handcarts, forklifts, cranes or pallet jacks.
+ Prepares goods and materials for PCR/E-House department, including: staging, loading, and documentation.
+ Ensure all received materials are organized and distributed to the correct personnel or placed production areas.
+ Removes surplus material and product after tasks are complete and places back in storage or disposes in trash.
+ Monitors all shop trash and trash bins, empties or places trash into large Bin located outside.
+ Maintain cleanliness and organization of all material and inventory supplies in the PCR/E-House production area.
+ Work with co-workers, supervisors, and planners to ensure all material is delivered on time.
+ Promote a safety culture and attend all safety meetings.
+ Ensure quality by following standard work instructions and identifying any potential risks to product quality.
+ Other duties as required.

Qualifications

+ Valid forklift certification with a minimum of 1-2 years' or prior experience.
+ Overhead crane experience or certificate is considered an asset.
+ Valid CSTS 2020 certificate.
+ Due to the safety sensitive nature of this position successful candidates will undergo pre-employment testing.
Working Conditions
+ Safety sensitive position in a temperature controlled manufacturing or industrial environment with occasional outside activities.
+ Required to wear personnel protective equipment at all times (i.e., hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, safety harnesses and respirators) when required.
+ Must be able to work from all type of ladders (step ladders, "A" frame ladders and all size extension ladders).

+ Able to maintain body equilibrium and agility to prevent falling when walking, standing, crouching, ascending or descending stairs.

**Shift Hours:** 6:00pm to 6:00am, 7 days on, 12 hours per day, then 7 days off
