 What You Will Be Doing  

  •  Operating a Ready-Mix truck in urban areas and tight construction sites.
  •  Performing routine equipment maintenance and Operate the Nicest Trucks in town.
  •  Contributing to keeping locations in and around the plant clean and hazard free. 
  •  Learning our company safety protocol in order to execute work safely.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What We Would Like from You 

  • Class 1 or 3 CDL (w/ air brake endorsement). 
  • Safe Driving record with a clean commercial Drivers Abstract (minimum 5 years).
  • Concrete Mixer truck driving experience preferred. 
  • Must be mechanically inclined.
  • Computer Savvy would be an asset.
  • City driving experience.
  • The ability to drive standard or manual transmission.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and be available on short notice. 
  • Ability to successfully pass our pre-employment testing.

Role Requirements

What you will do

Perform assigned system commissioning using Johnson Controls configuration and commissioning tools. Troubleshoot and resolve basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and control problems.  Under general supervision, conducts preventive maintenance, repair, installation, and commissioning, and general servicing of systems (including detailed troubleshooting of systems). Responsible for high levels of customer satisfaction through direct, on-site, customer interface. Properly completes required project and service documentation.

How you will do it

  • Load system-level controller software
  • Diagnoses and repairs complex electronic control system malfunctions requiring extensive knowledge of a variety of electronic or digital control systems, and the ability to test and write modifications in HVAC systems software.
  • Perform more complex commissioning and system diagnostics from system-level controllers to end devices (i.e., sensors, actuators, etc.) and complete all required commissioning documentation
  • Keep management and JCI contractor or customer informed of job progress and issues. Manages assigned work to meet professional execution of time and customer satisfaction. Reports problems or changes to management immediately. Interfaces with branch manager, service manager, project manager, or subcontractors on projects to coordinate activities as required ethically and professionally.
  • Complete administrative tasks including but not limited to time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation 
  • Document changes and provides information for as-built documentation
  • Communicates with customers upon arrival and before leaving the work site. Ensures high levels of customer satisfaction. Meets regularly with customers to become familiar with operating problems. Keeps customers informed on the nature of service provided and outstanding issues, and recommends system enhancements, upgrades, and or repairs.
  • Follow all safety standards and attend required safety training.  A high degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety.

What we look for

Required

  • 2-year degree in electronics, mechanical systems, automation, or a similar field, plus at least 3-5 years of industry experience or experience in servicing electromechanical systems in the HVAC industry
  • Generally required knowledge includes HVAC control systems, low voltage electrical, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation, and servicing techniques 
  • Effective interpersonal skills to properly represent Johnson Controls to customers and other outside contacts in an ethical and professional manner 
  • Ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical people. 
  • PC experience is required and the ability to program HVAC-related software.

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $25.6-31.8 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location and alignment with market data.) Writer/Journalist Internship: The role is focused on content creation for BORGEN Magazine or The Borgen Project Blog. This is a part-time 12-hours per week, 12 week, unpaid remote internship. If your availability is limited, you can work ahead and complete the program in fewer weeks.
