SUMMARY
Reporting directly to the Warehouse Supervisor, the Delivery Driver ensures that the warehouse department is always performing in an effective and efficient manner, minding the Italian Centre Shop Ltd.’s policies and procedures for all actions and decisions. Delivery Drivers will support and adhere to the mission and values of Italian Centre Shop Ltd.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prioritize providing exceptional customer service to deliver a positive customer experience thereby cultivating a positive reputation for the company and fostering customer loyalty
- Adhering to shipping and receiving policies/procedures.
- Receiving merchandise and ensuring the shipment content matches invoices and orders.
- Picking, packing, sealing, and labelling products to prepare for shipping.
- Stocking shelves with received shipments, using the appropriate sorting and organization system and equipment.
- Strict adherence to safety protocols and PPE requirements, including wearing steel toe boots and high-visibility clothing.
- Responsible for performing shipper and receiver duties when not engaged in driving tasks.
- Working collaboratively as a team and assisting other teams when required.
- Reviewing and verifying invoices and purchase requests to ensure accuracy.
- Establishing and maintaining outstanding relations with customers.
- Engaging with customers, answering questions, and promoting products and services; will enhance loyalty, sales, and profits.
- Loading and unloading of products from trucks in a safe manner.
- Processing transactions accurately and efficiently by reviewing the packing/delivery slips and invoices.
- Presenting and maintaining a safe work environment.
- Promoting a positive company image by actively engaging with employees, customers, suppliers, and the community.
- Being aware of and following basic inventory and waste guidelines.
- Ensuring regular maintenance of the truck is completed including cleaning, checking the oil, fluids, tires, signals, and brakes; and advising the manager immediately of any maintenance needs.
- Responsible for completing daily pre trip inspections and logbooks.
- Adhering to all food safety protocols, standard operating procedures, health and safety policies, and other programs and initiatives.
- Other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- High school diploma or GED from an accredited school system or program is preferred.
Experience
- A minimum of two years' experience in a warehouse role is preferred.
- A minimum of three years' experience in a professional driver role.
- A valid Class 5 driver’s license and a clean driving abstract.
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent listening skills and communication skills, both verbally and written.
- Ability to work under pressure while always maintaining a professional image.
- Working independently with little direct supervision.
- Having a well-balanced concern for both tasks and people.
- Having a genuine concern for the needs of customers.
- Familiarity with local streets, neighborhoods, and routes.
- Forklift certificate is preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Required to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Required at times to work with challenging customers and/or situations.
- Exposed to hot and cold environments.
- Exposed to loud noises and moving equipment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Long periods of standing, walking, and sitting.
- Frequent motions include bending, twisting, squatting, pushing, pulling, and reaching.
- Manual and repetitive tasks.

Job Summary: As a Seasonal Propane Delivery Driver, you will work with our Dispatch team to deliver product safely to our residential and commercial customers. Your goal will be to provide a meaningful and essential service to our Avenir Energy customers in a safety focused environment.
This is a fixed contract/Seasonal role with an expected end date in the Spring of 2026. The position includes full benefits and is eligible for over-time.
Responsibilities:
- Load and unload truck with propane, adhering to all Company and Governmental regulations.
- Work with our dispatch teams to develop routes using your knowledge of geography, and the needs of our customers.
- Deliver product to both our residential and commercial customers in a safe and efficient manner.
- Complete daily pretrip/post trip inspections and all other paperwork required.
- Report any potential hazards to dispatch.
- Ensure compliance with all company and government policies and regulations.
- Actively participate in team meetings and discussions
- Work schedule will vary - need willingness to occasionally work evenings and/or weekends
- Other duties as required by supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Valid Commercial Driver’s license with airbrake endorsement/Class 3 License DZ
- Minimum 1 year of commercial driving experience
- Clean CVOR / personal driving record within Company standards.
- Able to perform the physical demands of loading and unloading propane.
- Experience delivering propane considered an asset.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Knowledge of propane considered an asset.
- Ability to work various shifts.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
