Education Manager

Job Summary:
The Education Manager is responsible for overseeing the academic integrity and quality of all programs offered at the private career college. This role ensures that curriculum delivery meets regulatory standards, instructors are effectively supported and evaluated, and students receive a high-quality, career-focused education. The Education Manager works closely with faculty, administrative staff, and compliance teams to ensure programs are delivered in accordance with Ministry and PCC requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
Academic Oversight

  • Oversee day-to-day academic operations, including program delivery, class schedules, instructor assignments, and academic calendars
  • Ensure programs are delivered in accordance with approved curriculum and Ministry guidelines
  • Monitor student attendance, performance, and progression; implement intervention plans as needed
Faculty Management
  • Recruit, onboard, supervise, and support instructors and academic staff
  • Conduct regular faculty evaluations and classroom observations to ensure teaching excellence
  • Provide professional development, mentorship, and training opportunities for faculty
Curriculum & Compliance
  • Collaborate with the compliance team to ensure programs meet Private Career Colleges Act, 2005 (or relevant provincial regulations)
  • Assist in the development, review, and submission of new program applications or program changes to the Ministry
  • Maintain up-to-date course outlines, syllabi, and instructional materials in accordance with regulatory standards
Student Support & Engagement
  • Act as a liaison for student academic concerns, appeals, and complaints
  • Support the academic success of students through tutoring resources, study plans, and instructor engagement
  • Participate in student orientations, graduation ceremonies, and academic advising as needed
Quality Assurance & Reporting
  • Track and analyze key academic performance indicators including graduation rates, student satisfaction, and instructor feedback
  • Prepare academic reports for internal leadership and regulatory bodies
  • Support audits, compliance reviews, and inspections from Ministry officials and accrediting bodies
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
  • 3+ years of experience in an academic leadership role, preferably within a private career college or post-secondary institution
  • Strong knowledge of provincial education regulations and PCC compliance requirements
  • Demonstrated experience managing faculty and academic operations
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and conflict resolution skills
The Education Manager  will directly report to the Operations Manager.

About the Role:

YMCA of Northern Alberta is seeking a motivated individual that will provide effective program delivery of YMCA Youth Education Support Program to youth in grades 11, 12 and in first year post-secondary education. The YMCA is committed to creating a representative workforce to best suit the needs of the communities we serve; therefore, priority will be given to candidates with an Indigenous lens and worldview, including lived experience. These factors best equip the person in this role to meet the needs of their community.

In the role of Youth Support Worker (YSW) you will provide two main pillars of support; holistic academic support, which includes specific educational attainment goals, and as well as social, emotional support and community support that will provide wrap-around supports to improve, well-being, a sense of belonging and academic motivations.

Through the delivery of one-to-one individualized support, workshops, vocational tours, tutoring and mentorship you will ensure the barriers youth have to accessing post-secondary is reduced.

You will work alongside Youth Support Workers from 10 other YMCAs across Canada to delivery this program to youth national wide.

In this role, you will grow your planning, implementation, and program evaluation skills with the support of experienced leaders. To help you make a difference in your community, you will be supported by YMCA standards of practice, health, safety, and child protection standards in addition to receiving support to abide by contractual, legal, and regulatory requirements.

A willingness to work a flexible schedule is required as shifts will vary and may include evenings and/or weekends. This role is classified as a full-time position and is eligible for benefits. Your leader is invested in your success and will be providing support for you in person and remotely. As you are an established member of this national team your will actively work toward building a trusting and communicative relationship with each other.

Please note, the current funding timeline of this position is for 2 years, until March 31, 2027, however, it is anticipated that this funding will be extended.

Responsibilities:

· Ensures a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for participants.

· Collects information to confirm eligibility and completes participant intake and/or assessment to inform ongoing participant supports to reach participant and funder outcomes. 

· Designs, implements, and evaluates youth-centred individual action plans, in-person & virtual services and workshops as per guidelines and funder mandates.

· Performs case management as per guidelines and funder mandates.

· Consults with school administration, other professionals, and family & natural supports when appropriate.

· Coordinates peer mentorships opportunities and relationships.

· Maintains knowledge of relevant services and community resources.

· Engages with schools, community agencies, and other organizations to maximize services and resources to participants.

· Adheres to all Risk Management and Occupational Health and Safety requirements including Work Alone Policy and Procedures and the Children, Youth and Vulnerable Adults Protection Policies and Procedures.

· Inputs data accurately and timely into program designated database systems 

· Work within defined program budgets 

· Maintain accurate participant files in accordance with funder and YMCA guidelines 

· Collect demographic, output, and outcome data for evaluation purposes and to inform and contribute to the development of funder and YMCA reports

Qualifications:

· Post secondary degree/diploma in Child and Youth Care Counselling, Education, Social Work, Recreation Management, or related field.

· 2 years of experience working directly with vulnerable youth

· Previous experience with client intake and assessment, case management, and workshop facilitation are assets. Training will be provided.

· Experience within a team environment and working remotely

· Standard First Aid & CPR-C and able to obtain a Police Information Check and Vulnerable sector

· Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, Motivational Interviewing, Suicide Intervention Certification preferred

· Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is highly recommended.

· Working knowledge of issues/practices related to the social determents of health, youth development, individual assessment, case management, group work, group facilitation, program planning and outcome evaluation 

· Working knowledge in culturally sensitive and trauma-informed practice, and strength-based approach 

· Excellent organizational and time management skills

· Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team skills

· Working knowledge computer skills (Windows, Microsoft Teams, Office and Outlook)

About the Role
As a Website Support Specialist, youll play a key role in ensuring our Rally users get the help they need to confidently use our products. You'll be the first point of contact for support requests and will work closely with our account and project teams to deliver an exceptional client experience. Youll be responsible for website content migration, and will pitch in onboarding new clients and supporting our internal teams with data and research.



This is a part-time hybrid position (20 hours/week) based in Sherwood Park, AB, with a mix of in-office days and optional remote workdays. We prefer a consistent schedule of 4 hours per day, Monday to Friday, during regular office hours. That said, we're flexible on start and end timeswe're looking for the right person and can adjust the daily schedule to fit your schedule within our weekday hours.

Responsibilities



Client Support

  • Respond to support requests on our customer support platform and provide friendly, helpful guidance to users
  • Escalate technical issues to the appropriate team members when needed
  • Maintain and update our Rally knowledge bases

Project & Account Support

  • Migrate content from old websites into new ones for Rally clients
  • Assist account managers with project tasks
  • Provide onboarding support for new Rally clients

Essentials

As a **Learning and Development Specialist Student** and depending on your assigned project, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our team by:
+ Reviewing and adding new courses into PCL's Learning Management System (LMS)
+ Updating learning resources, including reference guides and videos
+ Performing data clean-up to maintain accurate records
+ Working within the LMS to make learning options more accessible and user-friendly
+ Participating in stakeholder meetings to manage learning objects (courses) in the LMS and fostering a strong and collaborative approach across PCL
+ Assisting in documenting well-defined standards and processes that support PCL's learning infrastructure
+ Helping to plan and execute system-related change management activities
