Wabtec Foundry is currently seeking a Plant Electrician to join our team. This role requires a licensed Electrician with experience in an Industrial setting, who is versatile and practical, with strong troubleshooting skills.
Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Plant Electrician will be responsible for addressing any equipment issues to support production activities, inspections and preventative maintenance on all equipment as required, support for continuous improvement efforts in the plant.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Repairs and maintains all equipment and machines within the building to ensure the efficient, safe operation of all machinery with the shortest down-time
+ Inspects all machinery for defects and potential problems in accordance with preventative maintenance program, repairing and replacing parts as required
+ Modifies machinery and equipment as needed to support continuous improvement efforts
+ Repairs, maintains and installs electrical components, wiring and electrical equipment of all machinery and facilities of the plant
+ Works with other skilled trades in the plant to troubleshoot and repair equipment
+ Works with management and peers to plan repairs and projects
+ Troubleshoots equipment issues and carries out necessary repairs
+ Ensures all electrical parts, wiring and equipment conform to electrical code requirements and are operating in a safe, efficient manner
+ Identify and report any hazard(s) in the workplace

**Job Description:**
The Journeyman Electrician will work as part of a team to install, test, troubleshoot and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, control devices, and related equipment in a manufacturing environment. Graphic Packaging International, ULC, located in Mississauga, Ontario, currently has an immediate opening for an experienced, Industrial Electrician to join our team in 24/7 operations plant on day or afternoon shifts with flexibility to support all other shifts, afternoons, night shifts, weekends and statutory holidays. overtime and on-call. This is a great opportunity for a Red Seal Industrial Electrician to use their troubleshooting, process control/PLC programming and commissioning skills. The position will be active in developing a culture of an incident free workplace, continuous improvement of equipment reliability and reducing costs to support the business success.
**Job requirements:**
+ Ensures proper operation of manufacturing equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on motors, drives, PLC's, pumps, pneumatic tools, and production machines, following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, and manufacturer's instructions.
+ Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and drawings.
+ Troubleshoot, install, align, dismantle, repair, and maintain industrial machinery, electrical and mechanical equipment for improved reliability and up-time
+ Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
+ Work closely with area operators to resolve maintenance related issues with the ability to communicate the issues and resolutions to Operators, Managers and Peers directly or via email.
+ Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, wiring, equipment, and fixtures in an industrial setting.
+ Inspect electrical components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair to resolve quality and safety issues.
+ Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
+ Ensure all electrical work complies with applicable codes and safety regulations.
+ Collaborate with maintenance, production, and engineering teams to support continuous operation.
+ Provide input on energy efficiency and equipment upgrades.
+ Participate in root cause analysis of recurring electrical issues.
+ Responsible for shift pass down to oncoming technicians.
+ Maintain maintenance log and keep it current at the end of each shift.
+ Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
+ Other duties as assigned and required.
**Job Requirements/Education:**
+ Must be Red Seal Industrial Electrician
+ 5+ years of experience in a production environment preferred
+ Experience with PLC/Controls/Electronics, PLC Automaton Controls
+ Ability to work in a demanding environment, with multiple projects, while meeting deadlines safely
+ Critical thinking
+ Ability to interact with customers, co-workers, and managers in a professional manner
+ Complex problem solving
+ Must be a collaborator
+ **Expected to supply a standard industrial set of tools. The company will supply specialty tooling**
Physical Requirements:

We are seeking a skilled electrician to install, troubleshoot, test, and repair electrical equipment, wiring, and control devices. This role involves performing regular preventative maintenance to minimize downtime, working with PLC systems (primarily Allen-Bradley) to diagnose and resolve issues, reading and interpreting electrical drawings, blueprints, and schematics, maintaining clear and accurate maintenance records, and assisting in training apprentices or less experienced team members. Adherence to safety regulations and company policies is a must.
**Responsibilities**
+ Install, troubleshoot, test, and repair electrical equipment, wiring, and control devices.
+ Perform regular preventative maintenance to reduce downtime.
+ Work with PLC systems (primarily Allen-Bradley) to diagnose and resolve issues.
+ Read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.

**Essential Skills**
+ Red Seal 309A or 442A Electrician License.

**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience in casting, rolling mills, or stamping presses.
