Job Description
Assist the Vice President, Finance in preparing reports for various investors including cashflow forecasts, annual business plans. Consolidation of financial results and reporting to Brookfield Properties on a portfolio of Class A and Class AA office assets.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Preparation/Review of monthly and quarterly IFRS financial statement forecasting
+ Analyze cash flow projection reports for existing properties
+ Assist in preparation of annual budgets and valuation projections for corporate business plan
+ Review monthly co-ownership reporting and quarterly presentations
+ Preparation of financial analysis, market analysis and board presentations for management review
+ Review compliance of mortgage loan covenants and reporting requirements
+ Perform ad-hoc projects and financial analysis for management as needed
+ Work closely with the accounting team during monthly close cycles to ensure accuracy
+ Coordinate with asset management, lease administration, corporate services, marketing, and investor relations
QUALIFICATIONS

To assist the Vice President and Controller with oversight of property accounting service providers, driving process transformation, coordinating with internal departments for optimal transaction handling, leading the rebuilding of key financial processes such as Accounts Receivable and collections, supporting asset management oversight, and driving overall operational effectiveness and compliance across North America.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Oversee Property Accounting performance by monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and operating metrics (e.g., account reconciliations).
+ Ensure Property Accounting adherence to company policies, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls, and internal audit requirements; provide general troubleshooting and support.
+ Collaborate with Property Accounting Teams, Finance/FP&A, and broader business teams to drive transformation initiatives, ensuring financial processes and controls remain current, aligned, and efficient.
+ Act as a central point of contact and coordination hub for Legal, Tax, Treasury, and other internal groups as needed to ensure transactions and other activities are handled appropriately and efficiently.
+ Assist in the oversight of the property accounting team responsible for managing a Class AA asset in the Calgary portfolio of approximately 3 million square feet.
+ Drive the standardization of finance and accounting processes across North American operations.
+ Identify and implement opportunities to improve systems and processes, including assessing the optimal allocation of responsibilities (e.g., Office vs. BPC functions) to enhance overall effectiveness.
QUALIFICATIONS

What Youll Do

  • Lead the company's financial planning, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to drive strategic decision-making.

  • Drive budget-to-actual reporting, providing insights and recommendations to improve financial performance.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP by researching and documenting accounting treatments for complex transactions. Develop and maintain accounting policies and prepare technical accounting memos to support financial reporting and audits.

  • Compliance and Controls : Ensure full compliance with Accor, IFRS, and internal financial controls. Establish and monitor operational controls and strategies. 
  • Cash Flow Managemen t: Ensure adequate cash flow for operations, approve cash disbursements, and oversee budget and forecast activities. 
  • Asset Protection : Protect Fairmont/ Accor and hotel ownership's interests in assets and operations, liaising with Corporate Legal and Risk Management as needed. 
  • Health & Safety : Follow and promote health and safety standards within the team and operations. 
  • Additional Duties : Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager and Regional Director. 
Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of senior financial leadership experience, preferably in the hotel/hospitality industry. 
  • Canadian Accounting Designation preferred. 
  • Proficient in complex accounting software, Microsoft applications, and relevant computer tools. 
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills. 
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.

**Introduction**
As an Oracle Record-to-Report (R2R) consultant, your role revolves around configuring, implementing, and optimizing the R2R processes within Oracle Finance Cloud systems focused on General Ledger, Payments, Tax modules
**Your role and responsibilities**
* Identifying and resolving period-end close issues, analyzing process bottlenecks, and ensuring timely close.
* Implementing changes to chart of accounts, accounting rules, and journal entry workflows based on business requirements.
* Enhancing reconciliation workflows, automating processes, and improving variance resolution efficiency.
* Developing new reports, modifying existing reports, and optimizing report performance for better data insights.
* Diagnosing and fixing intercompany transaction errors and improving intercompany reconciliation processes.
* Automating variance reporting, creating dashboards, and providing proactive financial insights.
* Providing functional support to users, conducting training sessions, and creating user documentation.
* Identifying process inefficiencies, documenting procedures, and implementing best practices for improved efficiency.
**Required technical and professional expertise**
* 5+ years of experience implementing and configuring Oracle Cloud Financials
* Strong expertise in General Ledger, Payments, Tax
* Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Oracle Certified Expert (OCE) certification in Oracle Financials is a plus.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyze data and identify trends.
